“Jeff… Reczek… Why are you here?” Isadora exclaimed in shock.
She stayed calm when Miranda and Jim appeared. However, when Jeff showed up, she sensed things were different. Jeff hardly appeared in public, so she had only seen him once.
However, most people in the meeting room were business elites, so they knew who Jeff was. As the Robin-Sophia Group’s chairman of the board, he had the right to make any decision on the company’s behalf.
“Mr. Reczek, may I know why you are here?” Isadora asked politely.
She felt too reluctant, thinking Jeff didn’t need to offend the Brighton family for a small company like Landview. The Brighton family was the most essential in Stillwater.
Jeff shook his head. “Stop making wild guesses, Isadora Brighton. I’m here to support Landview and Ms. Elise Houry.”
“What?” Isadora flinched subconsciously, gaping at him in confusion. Then she asked, “Why? This shouldn’t happen. No matter what, from every aspect, the Robin-Sophia Group shouldn’t support Landview. You won’t get anything from it.”
The Robin-Sophia Group would put much effort into rescuing Landview while offending the Brighton family, which was a thankless job.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Jeff shrugged and answered, “It’s an order.”
“An order?”
Others looked dumbfounded, wondering who could command the Robin-Sophia Group’s chairman of the board.
“Who are you?” Isadora was enlightened suddenly and connected all the clues. Her expression changed dramatically.
“You are correct. My boss, Mr. X, ordered him. By the way, my boss is the actual owner of the Robin-Sophia Group instead of Jeff,” a woman’s pleasant, crisp voice sounded.
All employees of Landview were familiar with the voice. “Melody House!”
Isadora widened her eyes while looking at the woman in a business suit who entered the meeting room. “Mr. X is the owner of the Robin-Sophia Group?” Isadora muttered in disbelief.
To break the blockade from the Brighton and the Conwyn families, Landview needed to work with a big enterprise. However, the Brighton family was the most influential in Stillwater, so it had many means to make the most prominent organizations in town obedient.
The rest were either too small or too cowardly to cooperate with Landview. Even the Buosont Group had been fiercely suppressed and couldn’t offer Landview a helping hand.
However, the Robin-Sophia Group was an exception. It was too big, with a market value of several billion dollars. Also, it was from the capital and had too many connections and sales channels. Moreover, it wasn’t founded in Stillwater locally, so the Brighton family couldn’t do anything.
Therefore, the Robin-Sophia Group was the only enterprise to help Landview. Earlier, the Brightons emailed the company chairman and warned him of the implications. If the Robin-Sophia Group supported Landview, the Brighton family would become its sworn enemy.
The Brightons didn’t think the Robin-Sophia Group’s owner was a fool to offend the top three families in Stillwater at this critical moment.
However, to their surprise, the Robin-Sophia Group belonged to Mr. X. Therefore, he would support Landview without fearing offending the three families. After all, they had been foes already.
Hence, Isadora realized their plan had failed.
“Right.” Melody nodded slightly, looking calm and steady. In fact, she was stunned when learning about it. The Robin-Sophia Group was famous nationwide and from the capital. Although it hadn’t firmly rooted in Stillwater, it was a large enterprise. She didn’t expect her boss to be its owner.
In an instant, Melody worshiped Robin more. Once again, she felt sorry as Robin had been married and loved his wife deeply.
“Damn it! We failed,” Isadora muttered sternly.
She and Constance schemed for many things and banned the Buosont Group and Landview. However, they overlooked the Robin-Sophia Group, the most unique enterprise in Stillwater.
Isadora had to admit her failure.
“Elise Houry, Melody House, wait and see. Our Brighton family will ruin everything you have sooner or later.”
Isadora’s murders gaze swept between Elise and Melody. She grabbed her handbag and stormed out of the meeting room. The Brighton family had put much effort into destroying Landview but still failed.
Isadora left the betrayed employees in the meeting room, the air becoming awkward.
Landview didn’t go bankrupt as expected, but they quit it. Also, Isadora didn’t take them with her. They didn’t know what to do.
Oscar turned to Elise, bowed, and said with an all-teeth-showing smile, “Uh… Ms. Houry… We… It was a misunderstanding.”
Other men next to him also plastered smiles on their faces.
It turned out Mr. X was the mutual boss of Landview and the Robin-Sophia Group, so they believed Landview would soar in the future. They would also have a bright career future after staying to work for Landview.
However, Elise ignored them but looked at the small group behind her. “Leo Ryder, you are promoted as the project manager. Carl Green, you are the administration director now. Nora White…” She promoted them all.
“How about us?” Oscar stared at her expectantly, wishing to get promoted.
“You? And you all. Why are you here? Go to the accounting office and get your salary even. You’re no longer my employees. Please leave!” said Elise.
Priya called, “Security! Send them out!” She knew Elise wouldn’t have the mood to listen to those traitors, so she hurriedly informed the security guards.
“Ms. Houry, it was a misunderstanding. I’m loyal to Landview.”
“Ms. Houry, I wanted to be a spy in our foe’s company…”
“You misunderstood me. I love Landview. I love working here…”
The traitors were unwilling to leave after realizing the Landview’s future. They tried to explain and made ridiculous excuses. However, the security guards kicked them out mercilessly.
“Ungrateful bastards!” Elise watched them leave in disgust. She didn’t expect them to rescue Landview. However, they abandoned her company and stomped on her at a critical moment because they were seduced by Isadora.
After the meeting room returned to silence, Jim walked to Elise with a kind smile and bowed at her like a henchman. “Ms. Houry.” He looked so attentive that he would have lit the lighter if Elise had smoked.
“Mr. Jordan, you are always too polite. Like a well-educated one from the capital, you are truly humble.” Elise felt flattered, flicking her hand hurriedly.
Jim was the Robin-Sophia Group’s president, managing an enterprise with several billion dollars in market value. He was more important and famous than Elise. However, starting from their first encounter, Jim was always polite and humble to her as if she were his boss.
Elise was puzzled and only thought it was because people from the capital were well-educated.
