Chapter 120 Robin Took His Action

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

The construction site was full of vagabonds, several hundred in total. They wore shabby clothes and stank.
They lay on the ground freely.
“What happened?” Elise asked Priya with a baffled expression.
On the phone earlier, Priya told her a big group of men went to the construction site. However, Elise didn’t expect to see such a scene.
The site was full of beggars.
“Since this morning, when our workers arrived, those beggars have been here and refused to leave. Our workers wanted to send them away, but they were not afraid at all. They even lay down and stool everywhere.”
Priya paled when speaking.
Elise frowned and strode to the beggars. “Excuse me. Why did you all come to our construction site? It’s a public place. Too dangerous for you.”
However, the vagabonds continued lying on the ground, ignoring Elise.
“Priya, call the police.”
“Yes, Ms. Houry.”
Priya pulled out her phone and immediately called the police.
Since their soft tactics didn’t work, they needed to use hard ones.
“Those vagabonds came here with intentions,” Robin remarked after glancing around.
Elise furrowed her brows as she realized it. Otherwise, those beggars wouldn’t have come to the construction site for no reason. The place was in suburbia, anyway. Those beggars couldn’t find anything there.
Hence, they appeared there with evil intentions.
However, Elise didn’t know who was behind them.
Shortly after, more than ten police cars arrived. They arrested the vagabonds. Elise and others breathed sighs of relief. However, that afternoon, the beggars returned.
“Hello, officer. Why did the vagabonds return to our site?” Elise called the police again.
The policeman who answered the call said bitterly, “Those homeless men didn’t commit any crime. We could only give them some reminders. We didn’t expect them to return.”
“Can you come over to take them away? Will you still give them reminders without doing anything?”
“Right. They haven’t harmed anyone but only delayed your construction.”
“I see. You don’t need to come here again.”
Elise ended the call, rubbing her temples. She wondered who the manipulator was. The vagabonds didn’t commit any crime, so the police wouldn’t retain them.
After they were released, they would return to the construction site.
If this went on, the construction had to be stopped. That was why Elise asked the police not to return, as it would be useless.
Once they violently sent the vagabonds away, probably, the event would be on the news the following day as there might be paparazzi nearby. Elise would be accused of hitting homeless people.
In that case, her reputation would be tarnished, and others would force her to step down from the position of chairwoman again.
Elise tried hard to regain the position, so she was unwilling to let it happen.
“Priya, get me 2, 000 bucks,” Elise told Priya.
Soon, Priya returned with some cash and passed it to Elise. Elise walked to the vagabonds and said, “I have 2, 000 bucks. Anyone willing to leave, I’ll give him 20 bucks.”
No one responded to her.
“How about 200 bucks?”
Still no response.
Elise glanced around while frowning. The vagabonds didn’t respond to her money. She wondered if they were really beggars.
In the end, she offered, “I’ll give you 2, 000 bucks if you leave. Each of you.”
However, the vagabonds were not still moved.
One man yawned and replied, “Just give up. We’re here for napping. We won’t leave.”
‘For napping?’
Elise was taken aback, wondering why they had to nap on the construction site.
Scowling at them, she realized they were hired to make trouble here.
As a result, her construction progress would be impacted. If it couldn’t be finished on time, her project would fail.
Hence, Elise repeatedly tried to solve the problem for the whole afternoon.
However, she failed to do it.
After returning home, she rubbed her temples, wondering how to send the vagabonds away and peacefully resolve the problem.
Robin rinsed her feet and said, “I finished my cigarettes. I need to go out.”
“OK. Here you go.”
Elise pulled out 10 dollars from her purse and passed it to him. “Get a good one. It’s better for your health.”
“I have money.”
Robin smiled at her, wondering if she really wanted to raise him.
He was Primus of Kisia but raised by his wife. Others might not be able to believe this. After all, Robin was General Eastern, the well-known strict general of Fort Eastern.
However, Robin enjoyed the feeling.
After leaving the house, he bought a pack of cigarettes. In fact, he still had one bag left, but he just wanted to go out for a while.
While smoking, he drifted to the construction site. The vagabonds were still there. In fact, they had been there for a whole day.
He also saw meals delivered to them.
Evidently, they were organized.
“A stranger is here.”
Some vagabonds noticed Robin, so they woke their companions up. All the beggars stared at Robin.
Most of them despised him.
During the daytime, Elise had tried every possible way but failed to send them away. They didn’t think Robin could succeed.
Robin walked to a man, gripped his collar, and grinned at him. “Are you the leader?”
“How… How did you know it?”
It was a mid-aged man with a strong suntan and a fierce look. He was over 165 pounds, but Robin lifted him with one hand.
The man panicked.
“Forgotten to mention. I used to be one of you guys. I also begged on the street. How can a common beggar be so fat as you?”
Bang!
He threw a punch at the man’s belly. The latter huddled up and paled.
Robin used to be a beggar, so he knew them well. If he directly hit them, they would fight back. However, if he captured their leader, they wouldn’t be able to do anything or even have the guts to fight back.
“You!” the mid-aged man yelled in pain.
The next second, Robin snapped, “Shut up!”
Bang!
He punched the man’s belly again. Blood drained from the man’s face. He huddled up in pain. Robin gripped his collar, dragging him in another direction.
After taking a few steps, Robin remarked, “You guys are so lame. Shame on you!”
