Chapter 117 Frank House

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

“My favor? What do you mean?” Robin asked.
“Mr. Timothy Buosont is my backer,” Frank bluntly answered.
Robin roughly understood what he implied. Timothy had helped Frank to please him. Hence, Timothy invested in Frank’s business after knowing Robin knew Frank.
Timothy wished this favor could be helpful one day, and his wish came true.
“Your lobby manager accepted a bribery and wanted to kick me out,” Robin said.
“Sorry, Mr. Bailey. I’ll handle it right away.”
Frank’s expression changed immediately. Robin wasn’t only his life changer but also a man who Timothy feared. Frank believed his lobby manager was too bold.
He strode towards the lobby manager immediately.
“Mr. House, I…”
The lobby manager trembled so much that he couldn’t finish a sentence. He had never expected a poor guy he wanted to bully to be respected by his boss so much.
He knew his boss was with a solid background.
The lobby manager wondered who Robin was, realizing he had made a terrible mistake.
“Security, search him,” Frank ordered.
The security guards had to obey his order. After searching the lobby manager, they found a gold watch, which looked costly.
“I don’t remember you having such a luxurious watch.”
Frank held the watch and scowled at the lobby manager. Suddenly, another manager walked to Frank and whispered, “Mr. House, I checked the surveillance video. This gold watch belongs to Elliott Nicholson.”
As he spoke, he pointed at Elliott.
Frank looked at Elliott unkindly.
Seeing that, Elliott ran away, afraid of being beaten up by Frank.
“You accepted bribery and broke our restaurant’s rules. Security, hit him. Then toss him out of my restaurant,” Frank ordered angrily.
“Yes, Mr. House.”
The security guards captured the lobby manager and dragged him in another direction. The lobby manager tried hard to struggle but couldn’t break free from the security guards.
Of course, the security guards were nothing in Robin’s eyes.
Shortly after, the lobby manager cried in pain. However, the next second, his voice broke off. Later, passersby found a man lying on the ground with a broken head.
After dealing with the lobby manager, Frank walked towards Robin and said gingerly, “I’m terribly sorry, Mr. Bailey. It’s our restaurant’s fault. Your spending will be on the house tonight.”
He was afraid of offending Robin.
“OK.”
Robin calmed down.
Elise was his taboo. Elliott insulted him, and he didn’t mind. However, Robin was annoyed as Elliott repeatedly bullied his wife. Fortunately, they were in a restaurant, and Leslie was aside. Robin would break Elise’s arms, at least, if it were another place.
Frank announced in the lobby. “Sorry for the unpleasant scene today. Your spending will all be on the house tonight.”
The good news made the patrons cheer up.
After all, a fight in the restaurant would negatively impact its business.
Robin sat back down with Elise and Leslie. Elise was still shocked, tugging his hand curiously. “What happened? Why did the restaurant owner bow to you?”
“Guess.”
“Come on. Tell me…” Elise played at being cute.
After all, in private, she wasn’t the intelligent businesswoman as usual. In fact, she was like a child and had never fallen in love with a man.
“Haha… Mommy, you look so adorable,” Leslie remarked.
Robin couldn’t agree with her more. However, Leslie was more adorable, in his opinion. Robin wished he could hug the cutie’s mother. After thinking for a moment, he explained calmly, “Timothy Buosont is the backer of the restaurant owner. Timothy knows me. Forgotten?”
“I see.”
Elise understood what had happened.
However, disappointment flashed through her eyes. She had thought Robin had become some bigwig. However, it turned out the credits should go to Nina.
In Elise’s opinion, Nina was too outstanding, so a man like Timothy deserved her.
Elise didn’t envy Nina, but compared to Nina’s boyfriend, Robin was nobody. The thought upset Elise. No matter what, she was the chairwoman of the board in a company, so she didn’t let her frustration show on her face.
On the surface, she looked excited.
Elise couldn’t expect any miracle and had accepted to marry an ordinary man.
After lunch, Robin and Elise took Leslie to the amusement park. They tried all kinds of programs that kids liked. After all, they deliberately made time to accompany Leslie today.
It had been six years, and this was Robin’s first time spending a whole day with Leslie.
On the way home, Robin received a call, so he swiped to answer.
“Hello, is that Mr. Robin Bailey?” a woman’s pleasant voice sounded.
Robin could tell she was the same age as him, 25 or 26.
“Yes, this is he,” Robin answered.
“Mr. Bailey, do you have time for a talk. It will only take you five minutes. If it’s convenient for you, I’ll wait for you in the cafe nearby your house.”
Robin tilted his head and saw a coffee shop next to Houry’s Villa, which was the only one.
“Interesting. OK. I’ll meet you.”
Robin rode Leslie and Elise home before meeting the woman in the cafe. The woman wore a denim jacket and jeans. She had an oval face and thin eyebrows with makeup. However, Robin could tell she was competent with a single glimpse.
He also found she emanated a strong aura.
“Hello, Mr. Bailey. I’m here to talk about a deal with you.”
The woman put a file on the table and pushed it to him.
Instead of picking it up, Robin looked behind her. A woman wearing a cap was sitting at another table.
Robin knocked on the table, but the woman wearing a cap didn’t respond.
“Lacy Willis, why haven’t you given up yet? I know it’s you. Unwilling to admit it, huh? Since it’s cooperation, you should be faithful. Why are you watching us?”
“What do you think, Ms. Angelo?”
Robin withdrew his gaze and looked at the woman opposite him.
The woman was taken aback and didn’t believe she had been recognized.
“Humph!” Lacey snorted and stood up.
She walked over. Her jeans perfectly showed her charming shape.
Lacey was an attractive policewoman in Stillwater, known as the most beautiful one.
However, she looked reluctant. After sitting down, she glared at Robin as if she wished to skin him alive. “How did you find me? I’ve disguised myself very well this time.”
Last time, she was too careless, and Robin framed her. However, this time, she didn’t admit it right away to avoid exposing herself.
However, Robin still found her.
Lacey wondered why he could recognize her and how she had been exposed. She panicked.
