“What? Do you want to kick me out? You even want to use force!”
Lena looked at the security guard leader in disbelief. People staying in Eleanor Manor were either wealthy or influential.
However, the security guards wanted to kick her out.
“Yes, Ms. Gibson. We’ve received the order from the headquarters. Please pack your belongings and move out. Or, we’ll do it.”
The security guard leader was about to use force.
“You!”
Lena glared at the security guards, her face turning livid. “How dare you! After my husband buys the villa, you all will regret it.”
Then she stormed away with her son.
After she left the beach, she immediately called her husband. “Boohoo… Honey… I’m bullied. Eleanor Manor wants to kick us out.”
Shortly after, Elliott returned home with a livid face. Since Eleanor Manor was established, no one else had been kicked out before.
The notice was like a slap in his face.
“What’s the matter?” Elliott asked Lena.
Lena repeatedly sobbed on the phone, so he didn’t know the details yet.
“A man took his daughter here. I didn’t do anything. He said I didn’t deserve to stay here. After he made a call, the security guards informed us to move out.”
Lena looked pitiful.
Elliott frowned and dialed a number. “Hello, how can you kick us out? You are so inhumane! Do you think I’m a pushover?”
“Sorry, Mr. Nicholson. The order is issued from the headquarters. We also checked the surveillance record. Your wife actively provoked the owner of No. 001,” the property manager answered politely.
“The owner of No. 001?”
Elliott was taken aback. He wanted to buy the villa at the auction, but it was bought by another man at the price of 14 million dollars. Elliott was unconvinced, but he knew the buyer’s background was horrible.
As the property manager said, the order was issued from the headquarter.
Eleanor Manor also had a particular background. However, they couldn’t afford to offend the owner of No. 001, even if they had to ruin their reputation.
Elliott could tell that person must be super influential.
“Honey, have you bought the villa? Let’s fire that security guard leader and kick out that man.”
However, as soon as Lena suggested, she was slapped across her face.
“Elliott?”
Lena gaped at him in disbelief, covering her cheek.
“I checked it. You took the initiative to make trouble. How can you blame others? As I told you long ago, you must be humble and lowkey. Get ready. We must move out.”
Elliott couldn’t do anything.
He couldn’t afford to offend the owner of No. 001, so he decided to hide from that man.
After hanging out on the beach, Robin took Leslie home.
Although Eleanor was an excellent place, Elise wasn’t there. To Robin, sharing the bedroom with his wife was the most wonderful in the world, although so far, Elise still slept in bed, and he slept on the floor.
“Why did you two come home so late today?” Elise tilted her head and asked.
She noticed the joyful smile on Leslie’s face, feeling curious.
“We hung out after I picked her up.”
Robin rubbed Leslie’s hair.
Leslie rubbed her cheek against his hand lovingly.
Watching them, Elise was delighted. She thought she had made a wise decision. Leslie did need a father figure, and she was too busy to take care of Leslie.
Besides, her parents were unwilling to take care of her.
In the evening, Robin received a call.
“Hello, Robin. I found Josie’s address. She and her family are still in this city. I still cannot walk properly. Can you visit them on my behalf tomorrow? If they hadn’t helped us, we would have died from hunger,” Dillon said.
“No problem,” Robin agreed.
When they were begging on the street, once, they didn’t get anything on a freezing, snowy day. They finally fainted at the door of a house.
They had thought they would die, but the family in that house rescued them.
After waking up, the two boys found they were on a warm bed with two glasses of milk on the nightstand. A woman and her daughter were staying in the house. Josie Mason was the little girl’s name.
After the two boys recovered, they left instead of staying.
After knowing Josie and her mother were still staying in Stillwater, Robin would definitely visit them.
“No. 89 South Street.”
Robin followed the address to look for Josie’s house. He found it was in the suburbia of Stillwater, and the area belonged to the slums.
“Mrs. Mason was from a wealthy family, wasn’t she?”
Robin frowned.
Mrs. Mason was Josie’s mother, Alexa Day. Josie’s father passed away when Josie was young.
South Street looked shabby and dirty. More than ten diggers and forklifts were tearing down the houses.
Rumble!
The shabby houses fell down one after another.
In front of a house, Alexa was standing at the door, holding Josie tightly. Josie was 11, slim and adorable. She asked in fear, “Mom, will we leave here?”
“No. It’s our home.”
Alexa held her tightly.
“Oops. Still don’t want to leave?”
Two diggers were driven to Alexa’s house. One man hopped off. He was in a suit, looking like a gentleman.
He was Ted Hall, the project manager.
“Those houses are illegal. You are not allowed to stay here. You must move out now. We’ll tear these houses down.” Ted flicked his hand impatiently.
“Illegal? My husband’s family has been staying here over generously. How could you say it was illegal? I won’t move out. It’s my home.”
Alexa gritted her teeth, unwilling to compromise.
“As I said, these houses are illegal. I have the final say. We finally obtained the approval to tear down the slums for free. How dare you stop us!”
Ted looked ferocious.
His company put much effort into obtaining the approval to show those houses were illegal, so they could be torn down. However, Ted’s company didn’t need to compensate the residents.
Many entertainment places could be established on such a large piece of land.
Ted had violently driven other residents out of their houses. However, Alexa and her daughter were still unwilling to move out. It was his company’s most significant project. If the two refused to leave, Ted wouldn’t mind using violence.
There was no one else on the scene, anyway.
