Chapter 109 Elise’s Suspicion

’14 million dollars? The price is doubled…’
Silence blanketed the auction hall.
After Elliott, the Nicholson Group’s chairman of the board announced he must obtain the villa, the man bid for it. Others could tell the man did it purposely to embarrass Elliott.
They almost heard the crisp slap.
Immediately, everyone looked over at Elliott.
“What the heck?”
Elliott was taken aback, wondering if that man aimed at him purposely.
The price had been directly doubled.
“14 million dollars. Mr. Nicholson, would you like to bid again?” the auctioneer asked Elliott.
It was evident that the two men were competing for the house.
Of course, Elliott wished to bid again, but he lacked money.
Inwardly, he cursed. Elliott would continue to bid if the man offered 8 million or 10 million dollars. However, the man directly doubled it.
“No,” Elliott answered unhappily.
He wanted but didn’t have enough money. After all, the bidding price had raised 14 million dollars. That man humiliated him, but Elliott couldn’t do anything.
He could tell the man must be affluent to offer such a bidding price, and he couldn’t afford to offend that man. Therefore, he had to give up.
“Gosh! A wealthy man added the bidding price. Haha… My prediction works. Look how irritated that Elliott Nicholson is!”
Miranda pointed at Elliott.
“The feeling is deja vu…”
Miranda’s words also reminded Elise of a similar moment that used to happen to her. What a coincidence!
Her intuition told her there was something fishy behind it, but Elise couldn’t tell what it was.
Right then, Robin returned. Elise approached him closer and asked in suspicion, “Honey, what did you do just now?”
After Robin was gone, the villa was bought by a mysterious man.
It was too coincidental.
“I went to the men’s,” Robin answered.
Suddenly, Miranda tugged Elise and whispered to her, “What are you thinking? How could it be him? He’s a poor guy. That man offered 14 million dollars.”
“That’s right.”
Elise shook her guess off her mind.
It was 14 million dollars, and the man offered readily.
It should be an affluent man instead of Robin.
“That rich man doubled the price easily. He’s indeed wealthy. He should be as rich as our company’s chairman of the board. I announce he’s another idol of mine,” Miranda said obsessively.
“I admire three men now. One is our company’s chairman of the board. One is the piano master, who’ll become my boyfriend. The other one is this rich man.”
Many big companies had 14 million dollars, but seldom of them were willing to spend them on a villa. It only meant that the 14 million dollars were nothing to that man.
Therefore, he must be super rich.
Elise suspected Robin, but Miranda didn’t think it was possible. Robin was a poor security guard. How could he be such a generous man?
After the auction ended, they returned home.
The following day, Miranda was called to the president’s office again. Staring at her, Jim said, “You entered the company lobby with your left foot first. It’s against the company’s rules. Your bonus for next year will be deducted.”
Miranda gaped at him and couldn’t believe her annual bonus for the next year was also deducted.
She wondered who the earth she had offended.

After work, Robin picked up Leslie from school again. He made a detour on the way back home.
“Dad, why are we taking this way?”
Leslie looked at him in confusion.
“Let’s go to see the ocean.”
“We’re not allowed to enter there.”
“I can take you in.”
Robin rubbed her hair. “No worries. Trust Dad.”
“Ehn.”
Leslie nodded adorably.
When they arrived at the gate of Eleanor Manor, the two security guards saw Robin. One walked to him and snapped, “Why haven’t you given up yet? Just leave. You can never afford a house here all your life. Poor guy!”
“Get out of here now! It’s not the place for people like you.”
The other security guards waved his baron to send Robin away.
“Let’s go.”
Ignoring them, Robin took Leslie to the gate and was about to swipe in.
“Ha! Do you want to enter? You cannot enter without a card. This is private property. If you break in, you can’t blame me for being rude.”
A security guard flicked his fist.
The security guard would have hit him if not for the little girl’s sake.
“Pretend to be deaf? You know what? A poor man like you must accept his fate. You are not supposed to be here. You don’t deserve…” the other security guards chuckled.
However, the two guards stiffened.
Robin pulled out a golden car and swiped at the gate. The gate was opened automatically.
“Please enter.” The two words appeared on the screen.
“How could you get the resident’s car here? Impossible! You are just a poor man. How can it be possible?”
One security guard flinched in disbelief.
“It’s fake. How can this man afford a house here? Freeze! I’m gonna call my captain.” One security guard dialed a number.
“Go ahead.”
Robin didn’t move.
A group of security guards and a property manager walked over shortly. The security guard leader strode to the two guards. “What happened?”
“This guy used a fake resident card to swipe in,” the two security guards answered, pointing at Robin.
“A fake resident card?”
The security guard leader looked at Robin unkindly. Before he spoke, the proper manager strode over, bowed at Robin, and asked, “Mister, may I have a look at your card, please?”
All residents in Eleanor Manor were either wealthy or influential, so the property manager was professionally trained.
Robin passed his card to him.
The property manager used a professional device to check it.
“This brat is so dead. How dare he fake a card to break into Eleanor Manor! He’s risking his neck,” one security guard shook his head and sighed.
“He deserves it. How dare such a poor guy come here! Humph!” one security guard said in disdain.
The security guard leader gripped his baron tightly and was ready to kick Robin out.
After checking the card, the property manager apologetically bowed at Robin and said, “Mister, you are the owner of No. 001. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I do apologize. I confirm you have the highest privilege in our Eleanor Manor.”
