The auction was held in the Grand Auction House.
Robin drove Elise’s Porsche. From time to time, he glanced at the charming woman in the passenger’s seat. Elise wore a white dress, looking graceful, competent, and sexual. Her tender, smooth legs were exposed in the air.
She also wore the red diamond ring from Robin.
Elise thought it was fake but never took it off.
“Here we are.”
After pulling up to the entrance, Elise and Robin waited for a moment. A woman finally showed up. “Hey, Elise. Here I am.”
It was Miranda.
She wore jeans, so she looked more girlish compared to Elise.
“Why did you take him here?”
Miranda looked at Robin unhappily.
She thought she would hang out with Elise, but Robin joined them. She always looked down on him, so she thought he was the third wheel.
Miranda never thought he deserved Elise.
Robin was just a security guard who never deserved Elise, Lands Corporation’s chairwoman of the board.
In her opinion, only a man like the Robin-Sophia Group’s chairman of the board or the piano master deserved Elise.
So far, Miranda had had crushes on them.
“Enough, Miranda,” Elise coaxed her.
She didn’t want Miranda to say something to hurt Robin’s feelings. Miranda was always straightforward.
“I didn’t expect to see you two here.”
Suddenly, a man walked towards them. He was in a suit and not ugly. However, he looked down his nose at them with a proud face.
“Elliott Nicholson?”
Elise frowned at him.
Robin had heard of his name before. According to Jeff’s investigation, Elliott Nicholson was Elise’s competitor. He was from the Nicholson family and graduated from Elise’s college. Since they were at the university, they were opponents.
After Elise founded her own company, the Nicholson Group tried hard to repress it. However, they couldn’t win against Elise and almost went bankrupt during the competition with Lands Corporation.
After the incident seven years ago, Elise took the initiative to step down from the chairwoman’s position. Therefore, the Nicholson Group took the opportunity to develop well and became one of the top 40 companies in Stillwater.
“Elise Houry, I heard you’d become the chairwoman of the board in Lands Corporation again. Congratulations! You are indeed brave, though. Aren’t you afraid the incident back then happens again?” Elliott said with an evil intention.
“Mind your language, Elliot Nicholson!” Miranda chimed in angrily.
“Haha… I’m telling the truth. By the way, I’m here to buy the villa in Eleanor Manor. Our Nicholson Group has made a lot of profits this year. I can easily afford the last villa in Eleanor Manor.”
“Don’t compete with me. Oh, right. You cannot afford it. I heard you had been deprived in the company. Even not, I don’t think your Lands Corporation could afford that villa,” Elliot mocked Elise.
Then he walked into the auction hall.
“What a scumbag!” Miranda gritted her teeth.
“He’s right. We cannot afford the villa,” Elise sighed.
She had to give up on winning against Elliott, as she must spend the 60 million dollars from Sunrise Properties on her project rather than something else.
It was required by the cooperation contract, although John wouldn’t dare to complain if Elise did spend it on something else.
“Let’s go in.”
Elise held Robin’s arm intimately. In others’ eyes, they were a loving couple.
“Stop it. You should hold my hand.”
Miranda was enraged while watching them.
“Do you think he was part of the incident back then?” Robin asked Elise.
He still hadn’t found any clue about the incident yet. After all, it had been seven years. The clues might have vanished. It took time for Jeff to make any progress in his investigation.
“I don’t think so.”
Elise shook her head. “If he was the chief plotter, his company would have acted more quickly. After they realized what had happened, the market share had been taken already. That’s why they are only among the top 40 companies in town.”
“He’s indeed hateful, though. He dreams of buying a villa. I curse him will fail,” Miranda chimed in.
Evidently, Elliott had pissed the two women off.
Besides, the Nicholson Group also wished to occupy Lands Corporation back then but reacted too slowly.
“These are our seats.”
Since they were not influential, they sat in the hall with others instead of in the private boxes for VIPs.
“Move! I want to sit here.”
Elise wanted to sit next to Robin, but Miranda pushed him away and sat next to Elise.
“Please don’t mind her. She’s spoiled,” Elise beamed at Robin helplessly.
Robin looked at Miranda in silence. ‘Miranda Levis, I’ll deduct your bonus again. Your bonuses of next year, the year after next, and three years later will all be deducted.’
After all, it was supposed to be a night for him and his wife.
However, he couldn’t do anything at this moment.
After the auction started, Robin told Elise he was going to the men’s room and walked to a VIP box. Only influential people could have entered the VIP boxes.
With a click, the door was open.
“Good evening, Mr. Bailey.”
Jeff opened the door. He represented the Robin-Sophia Group’s chairman of the board tonight.
“Ehn.”
Robin entered, sat on the couch, and checked the time. The villa was about to be auctioned.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, now, we’re going to present the most important item of our auction tonight. It’s the last villa in Eleanor Manor. The base price is two million dollars. Please start your bid,” the auctioneer announced excitedly.
“This villa’s location is perfect. 2. 4 million dollars!”
“Three million dollars!”
“Four million dollars!”
…
After others offered the bidding price, Elliott raised his plate. “The Nicholson Group, Seven million dollars! I like this villa very much. Please have mercy, gents.”
“The Nicholson Group is famous in town. One of the top 40 in Stillwater.”
“Seven million dollars! The price is indeed high.”
“I don’t think others will compete with Elliot Nicholson. He should be the owner of the villa.”
Others all discussed.
“No other offering? Seven million dollars once. Seven million dollars twice…” the auctioneer announced.
“Alas… This villa still falls into Elliott Nicholson’s hands. Argh! I wish a wealthy man could buy this villa instead. I’m so pissed!”
Miranda was annoyed.
Suddenly, a man’s voice sounded, “14 million dollars.”
