A doctor’s degree holder from the University of Aappitat should be a first-layer engineer in Kisia, but Dillon appeared there.
He was supposed to be hired by a big company.
Snowy wondered why he was there.
“You are indeed lucky, but you’ve used up all your good luck. You have an engineer without funds. What can you do?”
Snowy was enlightened. Holding her arms, she mocked Elise, “You lack money. Even though you hired an excellent engineer, what could you do? Nothing!”
As soon as she finished her words, a man entered the room. “Lack of money? Sunrise Properties invested 60 million dollars last time. Ms. Houry can use it in this project.”
“John Granger?”
Snowy turned around and looked over at him. Covering her mouth, she asked in surprise, “Mr. Granger… Didn’t you stop cooperating with us? Why?”
She contacted him personally that day, but John refused her and called off their cooperation.
“I canceled the cooperation with you guys, but my company still works with Ms. Houry. This investment will continue,” John answered loudly.
Then he bowed at Elise politely. “Good day, Ms. Houry.”
His attitude was completely different than earlier. Initially, he still wanted to fight back. After Robin gave him “kindly reminders”, John became more obedient and realized he couldn’t afford to offend Elise.
“Uh… Ehn…”
Elise was shocked by his bow.
In the past, John was always arrogant in her presence. However, he behaved like Jim now, seemingly wishing to kneel to her.
Jim was a well-educated man from the capital, so he was humble in Elise’s presence.
However, John was frightened by Robin.
Elise guessed it was the Robin-Sophia Group’s chairman of the board, so John had to be obedient.
Lucas Corporation had offended the Robin-Sophia Group’s chairman of the board, so it vanished.
However, in Elise’s opinion, he had returned Robin’s favor and didn’t owe them anything, so Elise couldn’t ask him for help. Otherwise, he would be offended.
“John Granger, are you making fun of me?” Snowy shouted abuse.
She still remembered how John insulted her and Lands Corporation that day.
However, he almost knelt to Elise.
Snowy was reluctant.
“I am. What can you do? You can attack our Sunrise Properties. Try me!”
John mocked Snowy for a while before leaving.
“Argh!”
Snowy stormed out of the place. Earlier, she came over to humiliate Elise, but she was angered.
However, she still had some reason left, heading back to discuss with David.
Elise’s company had become different. Elise had an excellent engineer and fund and could do anything with the 60 million dollars.
Snowy realized that she and David must stop Elise’s company.
Otherwise, they would go to the dogs instead.
“We have an engineer, a doctor’s degree holder from the University of Aappitat. I can let you handle the design draft, Mr. James. I also have 60 million dollars. Now I need to hire more manpower and purchase the necessary things. There will be an auction tomorrow. Robin, can you go with me?”
Elise muttered about her following plans.
Earlier, she thought it was challenging to establish a new company. However, after she started, it seemed to be easier than she had imagined.
She was overjoyed and confused.
“Sure,” Robin agreed.
In the afternoon, Robin went to pick up Leslie from school. On the way back, Leslie tugged his hand and asked, “Dad, can we make a detour? Let’s take that way.”
“Why?” Robin asked.
“A classmate told me I could see the sea when taking that route. I haven’t seen the sea.”
Leslie blinked at Robin expectantly, holding him tightly.
“No problem.”
Robin gently poked her nose with a doting smile.
Leslie was clingy to him more and more.
They took the left path. After walking for another 20 minutes, Robin knew which place Leslie’s classmate referred to.
“Sorry, mister. This is private property.”
Two security guards blocked their way.
“Eleanor Manor…”
Robin stared at the logo. He knew this manor from the opening ceremony of the Robin-Sophia Group. Eleanor Manor was supposed to be the most luxurious villa community in Stillwater.
Each villa cost over several million dollars.
It was located in the east of Stillwater with fresh air. All the villas were built along the seashore. The residents could see the blue sea after walking out of their houses.
“Leslie Bailey, here you came.”
A boy wearing a luxurious outfit walked towards them. Standing at the community gate, he pointed at Leslie and said, “I was just saying. You even came here for real. However, it’s useless. Only residents in this place can enter. Look at your father. He’s too poor.”
Since he was young, Robin didn’t want to get even with him.
However, a woman showed up behind the boy. After glancing at Robin in disgust, she snapped, “Don’t talk to those poor rats. They don’t deserve to talk to you.”
“Good evening, Ms. Gibson.”
The two security guards recognized the woman. She was Lena Gibson, a rich man’s wife. The security guards couldn’t afford to offend them and understood her glance.
They approached Robin while waving their barons. “Leave! You cannot be here.”
They looked as if Robin and Leslie were beggars.
Robin was about to fight back, but Leslie tugged his hand. He looked down at her, and Leslie prompted, “Dad, let’s go.”
“All right.”
Robin never disagreed with his daughter.
On the way home, Robin asked, “Leslie, do you want to see the sea?”
“No, I don’t.”
Leslie shook her head. “The house there is too costly for us. I don’t want to see it.”
Although young, she was indeed sensible.
“I can take you to see the sea tomorrow, sweetie.”
Robin rubbed her hair and called Jeff. “Check if there’s any empty villa in Eleanor Manor.”
“Roger!”
Shortly after, Jeff replied, “Only one villa is left, Mr. Bailey. It has the best location in Eleanor Manor and costs 6 million dollars. It’s one of the auctioned items tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow? That’s a coincidence, then.”
Robin would attend the auction the following day, coincidentally.
