“Shameless!” Nina retorted in disdain.
“He texted me earlier today. I blocked him long ago, but he still didn’t give up. It turned out he secretly hooked up with you.”
“Humph! Stop lying. I don’t buy it.”
Hana shook her head. “You are lying. How can Zak be such a man? You must be jealous of us and envy his talent.”
“His talent? What talent does he have?”
“He’s talented in playing the piano. He’s known as an expert pianist at our university. All girls are crazy for him. Humph!”
Hana was complacent.
“So what? I can’t see how outstanding he is,” Nina retorted and wasn’t convinced.
In fact, Zak was pretty professional at playing the piano. He could be considered a piano master.
His skills were even better than the piano teachers at the University of Stillwater.
While the girls were arguing, Robin stopped before a piano and asked a staff member, “Excuse me. May I play the piano?” The latter nodded.
“Oops. It turns out your boyfriend can also play the piano? Does he want to show off? If he’s lousy at playing, it’ll be big fun.”
Hana looked at Robin in mockery.
She didn’t think he could play the piano.
Although not professional, Hana also played the piano for several years.
Once Robin made a mistake, she decided to make fun of Nina.
“What are you doing?”
Nina also panicked.
She didn’t think Robin could play the piano as he used to be a beggar on the street. How could he play it?
“Stop it… Don’t make fun of yourself…”
Nina hurriedly trotted over to stop him. However, Robin had already sat down and started playing.
“Let me see how lousy your boyfriend is.”
Closing her eyes, Hana listened to Robin’s play and was ready to laugh at him.
A while later, she snapped open her eyes. “How could it be possible? He hasn’t made any mistakes so far. It’s not right… He plays it so well.”
As Robin played, everyone in Piano Center quieted down and looked over. Several approached him.
Everyone held their breath while listening to show their respect.
Gradually, more people surrounded Robin.
While immersing in the music, Robin also closed his eyes. He didn’t learn to play the piano in the military.
In fact, he had learned it from his late mother. Although his mother used to be the wife of the Bailey family’s master, she was also known as Lady Pianist in the circle before.
She was one of the few top pianists in Kisia.
That was also why Robin’s father fell in love with her. After marrying into the Bailey family, she was forbidden to perform in public, so she focused on caring for Robin.
Unfortunately, she didn’t watch Robin play the piano before.
The melody was sometimes soothing and slow and sometimes quick.
Gradually, more people gathered and were immersed in the song.
Right then, two women bypassed the place. One of them was Elise. She had just got off work, so she was shopping with Miranda.
“Look. There are so many people over there. What are they doing?”
Elise glanced at Piano Center and noticed the crow. She wanted to check it out curiously, but Miranda stopped her.
“We can go there later. Can you accompany me to the ladies’ room first?”
Miranda dragged her to the restroom.
Elise darted to the place and followed her.
Three minutes later, Robin stopped playing the piano and exhaled. It had been seven years since he didn’t play the piano.
He played it to test his skills.
After all, he learned it from his mother and didn’t want to give it up.
“Bravo, sir! You are indeed a piano master. I’ve never heard such a beautiful piano song before.”
“You should be a professional one.”
“He should be the top pianist in our country. What a master!”
Others all complimented him.
All of them could play the piano. However, compared to Robin, they felt ashamed as they were too lame.
“Let’s go, Nina.”
Robin stood up and left Piano Center with Nina.
However, before leaving, Nina giggled at Hana, “Isn’t he better than Zak Cox? Honestly speaking, I repeatedly refused Zak Cox because I’d found a better man.”
“Nina Houry!”
Hana was enraged.
Nina implied that she looked down on Zak. However, Hana tried her best to hook up with Zak, feeling she was like a garbage collector.
“I won’t let go of you,” Hana squeezed a curse between her teeth. A vicious look flashed through her eyes.
After leaving Piano Center, Nina hopped up and down while walking with Robin. In excitement, she chirped, “Seen Hana Gill’s look? She’s so pissed.”
“I didn’t mean to compete with her for something. However, she’s always against me. I never liked Zak Cox, but Hana Gill always thought I would compete with her for his heart. She thought I played hard to get.”
Talking about it, Nina felt helpless. Then she asked, “By the way, how can you play the piano so well? I have played the piano for years but feel ashamed after hearing you play.”
“I learned it from my mother.”
“Where is your mother? How about your father? You’ve never mentioned them.”
“They both passed away many years ago,” Robin answered.
Although his father, the master of the Bailey family, was still alive, he had passed away, in Robin’s opinion. After he kicked Robin and his mother out, he died in Robin’s heart.
Therefore, he told Nina his parents had passed away.
“Sorry,” Nina apologized, mixed feelings surging in her chest.
She roughly figured out why Robin had been a beggar before. When he was young, he lost his parents.
Therefore, he had to beg on the street to survive.
At that time, Nina was well protected by her parents, went to school, and had classmates and teachers. However, Robin had nobody or nothing.
Thinking of that, Nina felt sorry for him. Earlier, she kept mocking him and calling him a beggar. If she were Robin, she might have ended up more miserably.
“I’m sorry, Robin,” Nina said, bowing at Robin sincerely.
She realized that she had been too rude and wrong before.
“All right. Go back to your dormitory. It’s time for me to pick up Leslie.”
Robin flicked his hand and left.
After walking away from the university, he called Jeff. “Delete all my photos and videos online.”
