“Whoa… You… You are awesome!”
Emma was worried earlier. However, after she saw how easily Robin had dealt with the three gangsters, she was impressed and surprised.
“I used to serve in the military.”
Robin tilted his head.
“I can tell you’ve learned many things after serving in the military for years.”
Dillon glanced at him. He knew Robin had joined the military and served several years after he returned home. Therefore, dealing with a few gangsters should be a piece of cake for Robin.
In his opinion, Robin was a man loving freedom. However, he still became a live-in son-in-law.
Dillon also gave up his dream and became a bar owner. If Robin hadn’t shown up to save his life, he would have disappeared from the surface of the Earth.
They both became someone they hated to become growing up.
‘It’s just life, isn’t it?’ The thought brought a self-mockery to Dillon’s lips.
Click. Click. Click.
Suddenly, a big group of gangsters rushed into the bar. Some were bald, some had tattoos, and some were smoking cigarettes.
Some of them held iron bars, looking fierce.
“Oops. You both are here.”
The bald man in the lead had a tattoo of a wolf head and showed his fangs and strong muscles. He was almost six feet tall, so everyone just followed him in.
“Let me introduce myself. I’m Eddie Lane, and they all call me Tush. I am recently in a shortage of money, so I want to borrow some from you. What do you think?”
“If you want to refuse, you will stay in the hospital for a few months. Think twice before answering me. Or we’ll see you in your next life.”
Tush grinned at them, looking evil.
“1, 2, 3… 17… 34… 46… Gosh!” Emma counted the gangsters.
The more she counted, the more she panicked. There were at least 50 gangsters on the scene. Although Robin could fight, Emma didn’t think he could win against all of them. Besides, Tush was the most notorious gangster head in the district.
It was said he had fought his way to his leadership as he was adept at free combat.
“What should we do?”
Emma checked on Dillon, who was on the ground, looking at Robin. She was anxious but couldn’t do anything, watching the scene silently.
Rio had already blacked out. She also dealt with his wounds, so he could survive.
“Done thinking, brat?” the bald man exhaled some smoke and asked.
“What do you mean by thinking?”
Robin’s arrogant response brought blue veins to the bald man’s forehead. He stared at Robin. “You are provoking me, brat. Do you know your consequences?”
“Humph! The man who had the balls to provoke our boss is still lying in the hospital. His 12 ribs were broken.”
“You’d better have a clear self-estimation. How dare you provoke our boss! You must be dreaming.”
“How bold you are! If you kneel to our boss and beg him for mercy, he’ll probably let go of you. However, it only depends if our boss is willing.”
All the gangsters echoed the bald man and roared at Robin.
They looked violent and bloody.
Rubbing his chin, Robin looked at them in sympathy. “If you came here earlier, you wouldn’t need to go to the hospital. Unfortunately, you were too late.”
“Too late? Humph! You want to send us to the hospital. I wonder what makes you so sure about it,” the bald man mocked.
Suddenly, they heard a miserable cry in pain behind them and were shocked. When they looked back, they saw a man break into the bar.
The miserable cry was from a gangster lying on the ground.
They recognized he was one of them, and his arms were broken, bending weirdly.
“Who are you?”
The bald man frowned at the man who had broken into the bar.
“I’m Jeff Reczek, and I work for Mr. Bailey.”
Jeff looked up at the bald man, his eyes full of fighting spirit.
“You guys are too unlucky. If I were alone here, I would finish the fight as soon as possibly. However, Jeff has arrived. He’ll probably play games with you. He’s into fighting a lot.”
Robin shook his head, his hands behind his back.
Jeff loved fighting since he was born. There were many gangsters in the bar right now, so Robin didn’t think he would miss this opportunity to make fun of them. If Jeff wanted to defeat them seriously, he could finish the fight within one minute, which was not even enough for Jeff to warm himself up.
Hence, Robin was sure Jeff would play a game with those gangsters, who would end up miserably.
“Mr. Bailey? Shit! Think you are someone important? Hahaha… You guys must have watched too many soap operas.”
The bald man was annoyed as Jeff sounded like a man working for someone important. As the gangster head of this district, the bald man didn’t want Jeff to steal his show.
“Since you admit you’re his man, I’ll break your ribs first. Guys, whoever break one of his ribs will get 20, 000 dollars,” the bald man told his gangsters the rule.
He was angered by Jeff, so he didn’t mind letting Jeff experience how ruthless he could be.
“Whoa! 20, 000 dollars!”
All the gangsters focused on Jeff suddenly.
They didn’t think they could get a dime from the 1. 4 million dollars, but they could get 20, 000 dollars by breaking Jeff’s ribs. After all, a human being had 24 ribs.
They all had chances.
“Play a game? That’s what I want, too.”
Jeff cocked his head aside, a murderous look appearing in his eyes.
“Hit him!” the bald man ordered.
All his men rushed up. Although Jeff looked fierce and strong, they didn’t think he could win against them all.
Emma looked at Robin but didn’t think he even intended to help Jeff. Instead, he stood aside leisurely as if he was about to enjoy a good show.
“Don’t you want to help him?” she asked.
Since Jeff came to help Robin, they could fight together, which would be better than letting Jeff fight alone.
“Unnecessary. If I joined his battle, he would be unhappy. No worries. They won’t be able to win against him. He had even accomplished a supreme mission.”
Robin wasn’t worried at all.
In his eyes, all the gangsters were nothing.
In the supreme mission that Jeff had been assigned to, he had to kill a mercenary troop with 1, 200 men. Jeff did it successfully.
That was his competence as Robin’s most trustworthy subordinate.
However, Jeff was into fighting too much and always wanted to fight. Soldiers of Fort Eastern were all scared of him.
“Die!”
A gangster smashed an iron bar into Jeff. The wind whistled.
However, Jeff quickly tilted his head and dodged the attack. The next second, he quickly moved to the man and threw a punch.
Pop!
“Four ribs only. Unfortunately, your ribs are not as costly as mine. Each of mine is worth 20, 000 dollars.”
Jeff kicked him away and added, “Next!”
