Elise meant it. She had been fed up with the Houry family. Since she was little, they had given her a hard time. She only got a broken heart instead of love from them.
Therefore, she was unwilling to return.
“Elise!”
Rodney panicked. His root would be cut off if they didn’t return to the family. As a traditional man, he felt his inheritance had been broken, and he was isolated.

Then Elise said to Snowy and David, “You may leave now. As I said, if you want me to return to work in Lands Corporation, ask Grandpa to talk to me in person.”

Standing next to them, Klara felt baffled. As she knew, Miranda was Mr. Bailey’s girlfriend, so she wondered why Mr. Bailey was so strict with her. However, as Jim had reminded her long ago, she was sensible and kept silent properly.
Suddenly, Jeff entered the office with a file. “Mr. Bailey, I got the results.”
Jim was sensible. He could tell Jeff and Robin would discuss something confidential, so he left the office with Klara. “Let’s go.”
Robin hinted at Jeff. “Go ahead to read it.”
“Seven years ago, Lands Corporation’s opponent was Hill Corporation. Two managers were in charge of negotiating a project with Elise. One was sent to jail as he was the person drugging Elise Houry. Somehow, he died in jail. The other manager escaped, moved out of town, and changed his name. We put on much effort to find him finally.”
