The study.
Charlie had his own study where he stayed when working from home. Right then, he was still considering how to deal with Elise and Robin.
“Elise Houry, you bitch! I’m going to make you live in Hell!”
A trace of ruthlessness flashed through Charlie’s eyes. In his opinion, his son was much superior to Elise. She shouldn’t have rejected Reginald’s pursuit and let Robin harm his son.
Therefore, Charlie didn’t think Elise was forgivable.
He sent those gangsters to make trouble for Elise, which was just the beginning. He would use a series of more brutal means. In the end, he would sell Elise to a brothel.
He wouldn’t let go of Leslie, either, and would also sell her to a brothel.
As for Robin, Charlie decided to torture him before ending his life.
He wanted the Houry family to know they had offended someone they shouldn’t have.
Suddenly, a maid broke into the study and cried, “Mr. Lucas!”
“What’s the matter? Didn’t I tell you no one can enter my study without permission?”
Charlie glared at the maid angrily. He kept a lot of confidential information about his company in the study. Without his permission, no one was allowed to enter.
Therefore, he decided to fire this maid for being too insensible.
“Mr. Lucas… A man broke into our house. He said his name was Robin Bailey,” the maid explained gingerly, her voice trembling.
“Robin Bailey? Is he here to beg me for mercy?”
Charlie was excited and figured out Robin’s purpose immediately. He thought the gangsters had scared Robin shitless, so Robin wanted to apologize to him.
Charlie couldn’t see another reason why Robin was there.
“It’s such a trifle. Why did you break into my study? Get your pay from the butler. You are fired,” Charlie said and flicked his hand.
“OK, Mr. Lucas,” the maid immediately agreed, seemingly relieved.
Then she ran away without staying any longer.
“What the heck?”
Charlie was confused. Usually, the maid was supposed to apologize and ask him for mercy. Maids and servants working for affluent families like the Lucas family were paid much more than the average.
However, he didn’t overthink it and just went downstairs.
Robin sat on the sofa in the living room, seemingly waiting for him.
“Robin Bailey? I have to admit you’re sensible to come to me. Do you think I’ll forgive you?”
Charlie sat down and threw up his hands. In hatred, he added, “You injured my son severely. You broke all his limbs, and even his private part. You are indeed a cruel demon!”
“Because he wanted to harass my wife,” Robin answered.
“Your wife? Haha! So what? My son likes her, so she must belong to him. Elise Houry shouldn’t have rejected him or fought back. She should have been obedient to my son. Otherwise, things won’t have come this far. I won’t let go of your family, including your wife and daughter. I’m going to sell them to a brothel. I’ll make them suffer all their lives.”
Charlie burst into laughter, looking like a pervert. “You should know you can never afford to offend some people in this world.”
“Done talking?” Robin asked.
“What?” Charlie was baffled.
“If you’ve done talking, it’ll be time for you to go.”
Robin picked up a liquor cup on the table, easily cracked it, and obtained a broken piece. Then he flicked it, which stabbed right into Charlie’s left palm.
“ARGHHHHHHHHHH!” Charlie let out a miserable cry, covering his injured hand.
Blood flooded out of the wound. His face was twisted in pain.
“Even if you threaten me, it’s useless. I will never forgive you,” Charlie squeezed his words between his teeth.
“Forgive me? Think I care for forgiveness from you?”
Robin stared at him icily.
“Humph? Don’t you care? You are just a live-in son-in-law of a small family. You loser! You stray dog! Do you know where you are? You are in my house. I have over a hundred bodyguards. With just a word of me, they’ll kill you,” Charlie laughed.
He was the master of the Lucas family and the president of Lucas Corporation. Robin was just a live-in son-in-law. Charlie was irritated by his arrogance.
“With just a word of you? Will they really come here to kill me?”
Robin played with the cracked cup. He flicked again, and another broken piece fell.
When he saw that, Charlie paled immediately. He felt the pain with one stab, so he didn’t think he could tolerate another piece. Instantly, he called, “Security! Come in. I’m in danger.”
He repeatedly called to his bodyguards as he had confidence in them.
Charlie was wealthy enough, so he was terrified of death. He spent over two million dollars to hire more than 100 bodyguards to provide him 24-hour security daily.
Once they arrived at the living room, Charlie believed they would beat Robin up, and the latter would definitely be dead.
However, after Charlie called and called for three minutes and his throat dried out, no one entered the living room. There was no response from the outside, as if his manor was empty.
“Stop it. You have 121 bodyguards. They’ve been knocked down. By the way, your maids have run away,” Jeff reminded him, standing behind Robin.
“All knocked down?”
Charlie gaped at him in disbelief. He spent so much money to hire those bodyguards, but they were trounced. Only then did he realize why the maid had run away quickly just now.
She felt relieved that she could still survive after leaving the manor. It was because she realized the Lucas family’s enemy had shown up.
“You defeated them, but so what? I’m Lucas Corporation’s chairman. I have over 200 million dollars. If you dare to do anything to me… Wait! Aren’t you the chairman of the Robin-Sophia Group? How could it be possible? What’s going on?”
Charlie recognized Jeff, who was standing upright behind Robin. As a businessman, Charlie had good memories.
Besides, Jeff showed up at the opening ceremony of the Robin-Sophia Group.
Earlier, Jeff was standing behind Robin, so Charlie ignored him. However, after recognizing him, Charlie was shocked. He had never expected the Robin-Sophia Group’s chairman to appear in his house and stand behind Robin as if he was just one of Robin’s followers.
Charlie was confused but still refused to believe it.
“By the way, just a kind reminder, you only have 27% of Lucas Corporation’s shares. I’ve bought out the rest 73%. In other words, I am Lucas Corporation’s chairman now.”
“However, I donated all Lucas Corporation’s assets to charity a minute ago. Lucas Corporation has vanished. You’ve lost everything,” Robin said, staring at Charlie.
