Chapter 73 His Taboo

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

Robin had sent Jeff to buy out Lucas Corporation before coming to Lucas Manor.
“Buy out Lucas Corporation? Humph!”
Charlie laughed out aloud. “You are the live-in son-in-law of the Houry family. How dare you dream of buying out my company! Don’t be kidding! Even the Robin-Sophia Group cannot do it.”
The Robin-Sophia Group was a huge corporation, but it had just moved to Stillwater without any networks or projects, so it couldn’t have bought a big company so soon.
“The Robin-Sophia Group cannot do it, but it doesn’t mean I cannot, either. After all, in your words, you should know you can never afford to offend some people in this world. Coincidentally, I’m one of them.”
Robin’s words gave Charlie a bad hunch. However, Charlie mocked, “You are trying to scare me, aren’t you? Buy out my company, huh? I just need one phone call to know everthing.”
Charlie had to use his only hand. With difficulties, he put much effort into calling a Lucas Corporation’s shareholder. “Hello, Marley. A man told me he had bought out your shares. I thought that was hilarious. Isn’t it funny? How dare he tell me he has bought your shares!”
Marley Parker was the second major shareholder of Lucas Corporation, owning 25% of the company’s shares.
However, he didn’t respond at all.
“Hello, Marley. Are you listening? Answer me!”
Charlie panicked, somehow.
“I’ll visit your graveyard next year. We’ve been friends for years, after all.”
Then Marley ended the conversation.
“Hello? Marley? Marley Parker?” Charlie roared at the phone.
Hearing the beeps on the phone, he realized Marley had hung up on him.
Charlie muttered, “Impossible! You are just a good-for-nothing relying on your wife’s family. How can you buy out Lucas Corporation? Impossible!”
“I’ll call my secretary.”
Charlie swallowed in a panic. Then he dialed his secretary’s number.
A few seconds later, the call was connected.
“Hello, this is Charlie Lucas. Did we have any important meetings earlier?” Charlie immediately asked.
He called his special assistant, whom he trusted very much.
“Yes. We did have a few important meetings. However, Mr. Lucas, you are not an employee of our company, so I’m afraid I cannot tell you more details.”
“Not an employee of the company?”
Charlie looked frightened, pinching his phone. He was the chairman the previous day, but now, he was told he wasn’t an employee of Lucas Corporation.
He couldn’t accept it at all, wondering what had happened.
His secretary added, “For the sake of the fact that I’ve worked for you for years, I can tell you what happened. Mr. Lucas, you’ve offended a bigwig. In one meeting earlier, 78% of shareholders voted and agreed to donate all of Lucas Corporation’s assets to charity. Two hundred and fourty million dollars in total.”
“In other words, Lucas Corporation has gone bankrupt.”
Then the secretary ended the call.
“All shareholders except me have agreed? Holy shit!” Charlie yelled hoarsely.
He couldn’t believe other shareholders had agreed to donate all the company assets. Raising his head, Charlie looked at Robin. “Did you really do it?”
“Evidently.” Robbin nodded.
“How could it be possible?”
Charlie held his head, his pupils contracting. He had 27% of Lucas Corporation’s shares and was the first major shareholder.
Therefore, he became the chairman.
However, Robin had bought out every one of the remaining shares of the company, so he should be the first major shareholder. After voting, as long as a certain percentage of the shareholders had agreed, he could have donated Lucas Corporation’s assets to the charity.
Although Charlie was the chairman, he had to hold more than 51% of the company shares for veto power.
Right then, Lucas Corporation had vanished as all its assets had been donated. Therefore, Charlie lost his 27% as well. In other words, he had gone bankrupt.
The way he went bankrupt was indeed dramatic.
“Who the earth are you?”
Charlie gazed at Robin in a panic.
“You don’t deserve to know it. You’ll be dead soon,” Jeff answered.
Robin’s identity was always strictly confidential.
“Dead? Will you kill me?”
Charlie’s expression changed dramatically. In fear, he crawled backward. “You can’t kill me. I haven’t done anything against you yet. You can’t kill me. I can be your servant to help you. Please don’t kill me.”
“Well, since you declared you would sell my wife and daughter to a brothel, you must die,” Robin replied calmly, but his tone was murderous.
He wouldn’t let go of Charlie as the latter aimed to harm his wife and daughter.
When Robin was in battles, he was well-known for brutally killing his enemies, so he had a nickname, Death. It was said that he had killed more than 100, 000 enemies.
“Remember what your son is like now? You’ll die in the say way.”
Robin strode toward him while crushing the liquor cup.
Broken pieces drop to the ground one after another.
The next second, clicks sounded out in the living room together with Charlie’s miserable begging voices.
“Argh! Please… forgive me… I won’t do it again…”
“No! Please let go… Let go of me…”
“No! Argh!”
Soon, the living room was blanketed by silence. The influential president of Lucas Corporation and the famous Lucas family’s master passed away miserably.
After dealing with the aftermath, Robin walked out of Lucas Manor. The murderous look gradually vanished from his eyes.
He stopped mid-step and looked back at the manor’s gate. “You shouldn’t have aimed to harm my wife and daughter. They’re my most valuable family.”
After Robin’s mother passed away, Elise and Leslie became his only family.
Therefore, he would try every possible means to protect them.
“Mr. Bailey, where shall we go next?” Jeff asked.
Everything that happened was expected, in his opinion. Lucas had made a move to bully Robin and his family. Of course, Robin should take the chance to fight back. As an excellent general, he must be ruthless and decisive.
“The kindergarten. It’s almost six. I need to pick up my daughter.”
“General Bailey, you’ve become a househusband. You do laundry, cook, and take care of your daughter daily. If our colleagues in Fort Eastern saw this, they would be dumbfounded. After all, you are known as a scheming and clever general.”
“You mean a well-planned and brilliant general, right? You should read more books.”
Robin rolled his eyes at Jeff, stretching. “You are right, but I enjoy being a househusband,” he remarked.
