Chapter 71 Politeness Before Violence

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

Earlier today, Doug was paid a million dollars to make trouble for one family. The client requested he block their villa gate instead of doing anything else.
It was simple with high pay, so Doug had been excited for a moment.
However, after he arrived at the place excitedly, his smile faded as he saw Robin. Doug still remembered Robin had a subordinate who had won against his one hundred men within a minute.
Doug only sent over fifty men to the house, including himself, so he sensed something life-threatening.
After slapping his man, he trotted to Robin and bowed at him respectfully. “Mr. Bailey, it’s a misunderstanding. We’ll leave as soon as you can.”
“Ehn.”
Robin nodded his agreement.
Doug studied his expression carefully. Seeing him not angry, Doug was overjoyed. “Let’s go!”
Then he immediately left with his men from the villa as if escaping for their lives.
In one minute, they vanished entirely from Houry’s Villa’s gate as if they had never been there.
“What’s wrong? Do you know them?”
Elise looked at Robin in confusion.
“Yeah. I met them because of Nina,” Robin answered.
Karen was taken aback, wondering if Robin had some particular identity. Upon hearing his answer, she breathed a sigh of relief and mocked, “No wonder. I could tell they all feared you, and I thought you’d become competent. It turned out it was because of my daughter. The credit should go to Timothy, right? That guy named Doug knew your relationship with Timothy, so he was afraid of you.”
Looking at Robin up and down, she added, “You still the good-for-nothing who only relies on others.”
“Mom, can you stop calling him good-for-nothing? Robin is my husband,” Elise complained to Karen unhappily.
“Your husband? He’ll get out of here in six months. Then you two will become strangers. He doesn’t deserve to be your husband. Timothy’s name could have scared those gangsters away. Look what Robin Bailey can do? What a loser!”
The more Karen looked at Robin, the more unhappy she was with him.
She was determined to kick Robin out of their house and let Elise marry a wealthy man in the future.
Right then, Rodney arrived home. He looked annoyed, his face dark.
“Dad,” Elise greeted him.
“Stop calling me Dad. How bold you are! How dare you announce to voluntarily leave the Houry family! That’s my root. I can never accept it!”
Rodney glared at Elise in anger.
“Mr. Houry, Gordon Houry, and his family evidently wanted to kick Elise out of the Houry family. They have been giving her a hard time for years. Elise has been mistreated in the company,” Robin defended Elise and explained.
“Shut up! It’s all because of you.”
Rodney pointed at him, his finger trembling in a fury. However, when his gaze met Elise’s in mid-air, he thought of the matters, especially the previous night’s incident. If Robin hadn’t saved Elise, she would have been raped. The thought made him repress his anger.
“Alas…” Rodney heaved a sigh and returned to his bedroom.
“You moron!”
Karen rolled her eyes at Robin and swung out of the house to play Mahjong.
“The Lucas family should have other means than this one. I believe it’s just the beginning. They’ll make other trouble for us soon. We’re a small family. How can we fight against a big enterprise? We’ll be doomed.”
After her parents left, Elise rubbed her forehead, wondering what to do next.
From what had happened earlier, Elise could tell the Lucas family had made up their mind to avenge their son. She was just a woman without any power. Elise wondered what she could do to fight against them.
‘What should I do?’
“Honey, I need to go out for a moment,” Robin suddenly said.
“Sure. Go ahead.”
Elise didn’t have the mood to ask where he was going. Looking worriedly, she tried to figure out what to do next.
After leaving the villa, Robin dialed Jeff’s number.
Shortly after, Jeff drove a Hummer to pick him up.
“Mr. Bailey, where are we going?”
Jeff tilted his head to ask Robin, sitting in the driver’s seat.
When they were out, Jeff called him Mr. Bailey. When they were alone, he called Robin General Bailey, which was based on their tacit understanding.
“The Lucas’,” Robin replied.
Sitting in the passenger’s seat, he asked, “Any progress on what I asked you to do?”
“Done,” Jeff answered with a smile.
They were far from Lucas Manor, so it took them almost 40 minutes to arrive. After the car was parked, Robin got off and saw the security guards at the gate.
“Who are you?” a security guard looked at Robin and asked.
Since he worked for the Lucas family for years, he judged visitors by their appearance. In his eyes, Robin’s outfits were not branded. Therefore, he treated Robin coldly.
“I want to see Charlie Lucas,” Robin answered, his hands clasped behind his back.
“Mr. Lucas? Who do you think you are to see him? Get out of here. Mr. Lucas is too busy. You’d better leave now. Or I’ll force you to leave,” another security guard snapped, pointing at his baron.
“I always have good manners. Politeness comes before violence. Since you don’t accept my politeness, I don’t mind using violence. Hit them, Jeff,” Robin ordered.”
“Roger!”
Jeff flexed his fingers, working the stiffness from his knuckles. Then he turned his neck and smiled. “You’d better not fight back. Or I’m afraid I cannot control my strength.”
“Want to break in? We’re professional security guards.”
All six security guards walked out of the security room with barons. One tall, sturdy man was their leader. “How dare you two intrude into Mr. Lucas’ residence! I can beat you up for self-defense, then.”
He slandered Robin for trespass so that he wouldn’t be taken away by the police, even if the two men were severely injured or killed.
However, Robin chuckled, “You are right. We do want to intrude into the house.”
“Arrogant bastard!”
The security guard leader looked angry, raised his baron, and was about to hit Jeff, who was standing before Robin.
The next second, the security guard leader let out a cry in pain.
After that, the rest security guards also cried miserably and fell to the ground. Their bodies twitched, frothing at their mouths. Some even wet their pants.
Jeff stomped on one of them while playing with a baron. Shaking his head, he remarked, “When I was a soldier, a baron was just a basic weapon for the new recruit. By the way, your fighting skills suck.”
“Stop playing with them. Let’s enter.”
Robin walked over the twitched bodies on the ground, entering the manor.
“Yes, Mr. Bailey,” Jeff answered, following him.
