Kayden’s POV
I dreaded what was going to happen next after Davis cried over his beloved Amelia, he was definitely going to blow the entire place up.
I was not sure that I could stop his fingers from pressing onto that button so I decided that the best thing to do was to alert the others.
“James, Samantha.” I created a mind link with the both of them.
“Get the men, get the slaves and Cassie out of here. This place is going to blow up! Get everyone out of here and you Mantha, you have to be safe, make sure you are out of here safely.”
“What about….. what about you?” Mantha asked me.
“I am going to be fine. Do not worry about me Mantha, I will be just fine.” I replied and ended the mind link.
I looked at Davis who slowly stood up from where he had knelt before, the body of Amelia was on the floor, looking very dirty and battered but I was not sorry for what I did, they had done more, more worse things than what I was doing to the both of them.
“You… You killed Amelia!” Davis started, tears clouding his eyes as it dimmed his vision.
“She was meant to die.” I replied him.
“You monster!! You killed her!”
“Just like you have killed several others!”
I was trying to make up a conversation so that I would be able to buy enough time for Mantha, James and the others.
“You shut up!” Davis yelled and I gulped down hard.
The disrespect was really high but it was not time to exams respect, it was time to save lives.
“You have killed the reason behind my life! You have killed the only person that I loved, you have taken away my happiness from this life and so I also have no reason to let you or your happiness be alive!” He said to me and raised his hands up to click on the remote.
Just in time, I leapt on him, hitting the remote out of his hands in one quick movement.
I shape shifted in the process and Davis did the same as we both scrambled for the remote, I got it first but in an attempt to be careful with it to avoid clicking on buttons that would end our lives, Davis got it back from me.
“We are all dying!” He yelled as he aimed to click on it once more.
I shape shifted into human in a milisecond and hit the remote away from his hands. The remote fell under a tree that laid a bit away from the both of us. The only thing I had to do now was just to ensure that I kept him away from getting to the tree and taking possession of the remote once more.
He moved towards it very quickly but I was still faster than he was, I picked him and threw him backwards.
I pushed him to the floor and watched him struggle as I rained blows on blows on his face, it gave me a whole lot of satisfaction to have this betrayer growl under my very own hands.
I was still punching his face but I had no idea that he had already picked a stone, If there was one thing that Davis was super good at, it had to be at throwing things right on point so I knew for sure that he was going to hit the button with that stone.
I let go of him and threw another stone, a stone that shifted the remote out of place, Davis stone landed just on the spot where the remote had been earlier. I breathed out in relief but that moment of distraction was what Davis needed from me, he hit me hard.
I groaned and turned back to him, I pulled him up with my hands and threw him against the same wall that I had thrown his precious mate at.
The wall shattered totally but Davis rolled out from beside it before it would fall on him.
I picked him up before he could recover anyways and threw him off, his body crashed into the body of Amelia, making her body burst open, the blood from her lifeless body splashed everywhere, mostly on Davis body.
“A… Amelia!” Davis called with a sad look on his face.
I did not bother to look too much at the drama that was going to follow. I walked towards the remote instead, I crouched down to pick it up, I was about to do so when three stones came flying out of nowhere.
One of them hit the button and I heard the beep sound.
“Heck!” I gasped and turned back to see Davis standing proudly, he had a smile on his face, a smile that was absolutely uncalled for at the moment.
I checked the time on his body since he was the one carrying the bomb, I had just 40 seconds to get out of the place.
“40 seconds and this place is bombed down!” I said to James and Mantha in a mind link.
“Where are you Kayden? Come over here right now!” Mantha said and I could sense the worry in her voice.
“I would be with you right away.” I said and moved backwards.
There was no need to fight with James anymore, after all he was definitely going to die when the bomb blew up in the next few seconds.
I shape shifted into a wolf and sped out of the place. I continued to run till I was finally at the safe space where Mantha and the others were.
I shape shifted into a human, there was just a bit over 10 seconds more.
Mantha hugged me tightly as I wrapped myself up in a blanket.
“Where is James?” I asked her and she shook her head sadly.
“He can’t find Cassie yet! He is still in there looking for her! He says he is not going to leave without her!” Mantha said to me and my eyes widened.
“How many more seconds Jay?” I asked him.
“8 more seconds!”
