The next day
Samantha’s POV
I and Kayden alighted from the car, we were in front of the building where I had been locked in days ago.
I took in a deep breath and breathed out trying to feel the environment, Kayden’s hands touched mine and I opened my already closed eyes.
“Are you nervous to do this?” He asked me and I gave him a small smile.
“Nervous? I am not…. okay, I guess” I replied him and his grip on my hands tightened.
“Let’s go in.” he said to me and we took steps further, my steps were somewhat shaky as I walked into the place that looked very much like an abandoned place.
“This place looks crude.” Cara said to me.
“And I can hardly remember anything yet.”
“We are definitely going to remember something before we exit this place.” she replied me and I sighed softly.
“Do you remember anything?” Kayden asked me and I shook my head to indicate no.
“I was being impatient, take it slowly. You are going to remember very soon.” he said while patting my should soothingly.
I nodded and looked around the place, my gaze landed on the chair and I felt a wave of headache hit me, I held my head in my hands and shook my head, with my eyes tightening, the throb in my head increased and there was a wave of memories.
Lauren’s voice when she said the words ‘Samantha is pregnant?’
I opened my eyes and breathed in and out heavily.
“So do you remember anything yet?” Kayden asked me.
“Nothing really helpful.” I replied him.
There was nothing really significant about Lauren finding out about me being pregnant.
“Just remembered Lauren, she knows I am pregnant.” I replied him and saw him gulp.
“I think we should start going back home.” Kayden said and my eyes shot up.
“Why would we go home by this time? It’s still early and I have not remembered something worth the journey yet.”
“I can not stand watching you experience those hard and brutal headache once more just cause you want to know what exactly was said that day. We could find another way to find out about everything.” he replied me but I shook my head to indicate no.
“We can’t leave here yet.”
“We have to leave here, I don’t want to see you going through pains because of me Mantha. It breaks me to see you go through so much just for me.”
“This is not just for you Kayden, this is for me, for you, for my pack, for the entire Wolfdom itself.”
“But….”
“No buts.”
“We can still do this another way.”
“But this is the easiest and fastest way, there is no time Kayden. A lot has been happening, it is time to put an end to it, we can not afford to stall more.” I said to him and he sighed softly before letting go of my hands.
“Fine, you can have your way but if it tells too much on you. I would really be left with no option than to take you away from here.” he said to me and I nodded.
“Kayden.” I called his name and he looked at me.
“Can you get a rope?” I requested.
“A rope?” He raised his brow.
“Yes.”
“What do you intend to use that for?”
“I… I want to tie myself up on that chair and see if I can recollect things that way.”
“No Mantha! That is too much, I am not going to agree to that.”
“It is not going to be tied tightly at all.”
“I still can not…. like, why in the world would you want to tie yourself up?”
“Seriously…. It is just what we have to do, for the pack, for the entire Wolfdom.” I said to him and sighed softly.
“Mantha, you are really doing things.”
“I promise I will be fine.” I promised him.
“Okay, I will get the rope and I will be the one to tie it myself, I would not let you tie yourself tightly.” he said to me and I agreed with him.
“There’s a rope over there.” he pointed out and walked over to where the rope was while I quietly took my seat on the old and wooden chair.
Kayden approached me with slow steps, sighing with every step he took. It was clear that he was hesitant to do what he was about to do.
“You really know this is quite silly?” He asked as he tied the rope around me loosely.
I have no reply to his words just in case… So that we wouldn’t get into another argument.
“Done.” he mumbled, standing in front of me.
I gave him a small smile, closed my eyes and breathed in and out.
The place suddenly went cold and I seemed to have transported into another world in a jiffy.
The headache began first and as much as I tried to hold my head in my hands, the ropes were holding me down and I did not want to struggle much to cut the ropes, that would flop things.
The headache slowly subsided and I could hear voices quite clearly in my head, the voices were the unmistakeable voices of Lauren and of course, Davis.
My eyes opened but no, I was not in the world with Kayden, I was in another world, I found very well see their faces as they watched my limp body on the chair.
I was recollecting my memories and I was glad about that, the headache was still there but now subtle.
“Mantha! Mantha, Mantha! Mantha are you okay? Open your eyes!” I heard Kayden’s voice call out to me.
“Mantha! C’mon! Open your eyes” his voice came again and I shot my eyes open to see him already sweating profusely.
He didn’t say a word but pulled me into a tight hug, I hugged him back, allowing his warm body to cuddle mine. My expressionless face smoothened into a soft smile as I found out that I had remembered all the memories I had lost.
“About the memories….”I started pulling away from the hug.
“Don’t try talking about it! You are not trying that again. Coming here is nothing but a bad idea, we are going home right now.”
“That’s not it….”
“Mantha, I can’t let you do that again.”
“That’s not it! I remember everything now Kayden. I remember everything I heard them say.”
