Samantha’s POV
“This totally makes enough sense.” Cara said to me.
“But like I said earlier, even if this really had to do with Davis, then it must have been his father who launched the attack on my pack.” I replied her.
“That’s right.”
“You know what? Now I am even more curious about everything concerning Davis.” I replied her.
“I am going to find out if he really has something to do with all of this or maybe I am just misunderstanding things.”
“I do not think we are misunderstanding things.”
“I do not think so also but then this is someone that has been by Kayden’s side for a very long period of time.” I replied her.
“You are right.”
“Mantha, what are you doing?” Kayden asked and I quickly packed up everything that had to do with what I was doing.
“I am not doing anything.” I replied him with a nervous smile that I knew he did not believe.
“Tell me the truth, you are hiding things from me?” He asked.
“Of course not, it’s just a girl thing.” I replied him.
“A girl thing… Okay, go on with it then.” he said but I could sense that he was not happy that I was keeping things from him.
“I am going to tell you all about it soon, I am just going to find something more.” I mumbled to myself.
“Then I would be waiting.” he replied and that was when I realized that he was standing beside me and heard my words.
“Oh… Okay.” I replied and tightened my grip on the documents and my jotter.
“You should start packing up now.” he said to me.
“There’s like nothing for us to pack up.” I replied.
“That’s true but we have a few clothes.”
My mind for once did not leave the document and neither did I let go of it once, I kept thinking about the words in it and trying hard to rack my brain to find out if I could get more hidden mysteries.
Two hours later
We were both in the car while James and Marie were in the other car.
Kayden had insisted that Marie was not going to be staying in the car with us, saying so plainly that she was invading the privacy that we needed as couples.
“What is the first thing you want to do when we get home?” He asked me and I pouted slightly, thinking.
“To see Cassie and chat with her for hours non stop.” I replied him with a wide smile on my face.
“You treat Cassie and James better than you are treating me.” he groaned.
“Here we go with you being jealous again.” I chuckled.
“It ain’t funny.” he grumbled.
“Once I am done chatting with Cassie, I want th both of us to go to a roof top and spend time watching the stars together.” I said to him and he smiled gently.
“Yeah, we reality should do that.” he affirmed.
“And we are going to do it tomorrow also.” he added.
“Ugh? Why?”
“Because I learnt that there will be a meteor shower tomorrow, I want to watch the beautiful sky with you.”
“A meteor shower! I have never seen one before.” I shrieked excitedly.
“Tomorrow you will be seeing one and you would be seeing it with your man, me.” he replied.
“I can’t be more excited!” I did a little dance in my seat.
“I just hope that some things does not come up” I mumbled.
“No matter what happens or comes up, we have to watch the meteor shower together.” he replied me and I rested my head on his shoulder.
“It would be so nice… You know, watching it as a family, you, me and our baby.” he added.
“I really….” I stopped in my words. It would be okay if I do not tell him.
“What do you want to say?” He asked me.
“I wanted to say I would really be so damn happy tomorrow.”
In fact, that was not what I wanted to say to him, I wanted to tell him that I still wished to go to an hospital to conduct a proper check on myself to ascertain that I am pregnant because it still looked too unbelievable and dreamy to me.
“I know, right?” Kayden responded to me and patted my hair with one hand while driving with the other hand.
I looked forward at the car in front of us and hoped that Marie was going to stand by her promise and not disturb James about any other thing.
My phone rang at that moment and the name Cassie popped up.
I picked up the call.
“Hey.”
“Hello Samantha, how are you doing?” She asked me.
“I am doing very fine, are you calling this time around to ask about my health truly or are you calling again to ask about James?” I asked her teasingly.
“C’mon, you are my best friend, I am calling you and not James, I already talked to James this morning.” she replied.
“When are you guys going to be back?”
“We should be back in about three hours.”
“You are coming home today?!” She asked.
“Of course, James didn’t tell you?” I asked her.
“He did not.”
“I bet he was trying to show up in front of you as a surprise and I just ruined that surprise.” I replied her.
“It’s totally okay, I can be the one to surprise him.” she replied and I could tell that she was grinning.
“I am so envious of your love, I wish I could….” Kayden’s sharp gaze towards me made me keep quiet, I took my lips in and diverted my gaze out of the window.
“That’s it, I would call you later.” I mumbled into the phone and ended the call.
“What do you mean by you are so envious of their love?” Kayden asked.
“I… I was just kidding.” I replied him.
“You’d better be kidding.” he replied.
“You are the best lover in the world and there is totally no love comparable to the love that we share.” I said to him and kissed his cheek.
“That’s just a small kiss but I would take it as an apology.”
