Kayden’s POV
I watched as the bodies were being packed, we were the only ones in the streets. There was no other person, no humans and that was pretty much a huge relief since humans are very curious and so much love poke nosing around.
“We are done sir.” one of the guys said to me.
“Great, go and get the others buried in the surrounding of this place and remember to count how many they are. I want to know the total amount of all of them.” I said to him..
“Yes Alpha.” he replied and turned to leave.
Dad walked over to me and we both leaned against the car, doing nothing. My mind wandered off to Mantha and I wondered if she was doing well at home and if she wasn’t in some way too worried about me.
“What are you thinking about?” Dad asked me and I shook my head to indicate nothing.
“You’re thinking about Samantha?” He asked.
“How did you know that Dad?” I asked him and his lips curled up in a smirk.
“Of course I do know, she is the only one that can make your eyes so soft and bright at the same time.” he replied me and I looked to the floor with a slight nod.
“Tell me what plans the both of you have?” Dad requested
“I actually have pretty much no plans with her yet. For now, the both of us just want to get over this issue and then we can plan what we are going to do next.” I replied him.
“Good but you have to know that you can’t abandon her, don’t make her feel lonely, not even in the midst of all this problems, she would feel that she is not wanted.” he replied.
“Mantha is not like that, she so much wants me to get this done quickly and she wants to help too. She understands that the reason I am not always by her side for now is because of this issue.” I said to Dad and he shook his head.
“She might not say it but she wants you to be there for her also. After doing whatever you still want to do here, you should go back home to meet her just to make her feel loved.” dad said.
“I would do that.” I agreed with him, I was already missing Mantha already. I had not seen her beautiful face for hours, I had not seen her charming smiles for hours now.
“Good.” dad patted my shoulder lightly.
“Never knew dad could be this good at giving advices.” I said to Jay.
“Never knew too, felt like I was listening to some love tutor.” he replied and I looked upwards.
“Alpha Kayden.” I was called and I looked back to see the gamma.
“The bus?” I asked.
“It can’t be found yet but I still have the guys all around. I… I would ensure that it is found very soon Alpha.” he replied as gently as he could and I clenched my fists.
“You can leave, get the guys over there to hurry up.” I said to him and he bowed slightly before leaving.
I could bet that he was a bit surprised that I let go of him easily but I really was not just in the mood to send him off, I needed as much trusted people as I could get.
After a while, he returned to me.
“They have been buried.” he said to me, his head slightly bowed.
“How many?”
“Forty five corpses have been buried, five were taken by us.” he replied.
“One was taken by me yesterday, Mantha’s friend totalling them all to the number of 46.” I added.
“We are done here.” I said, turning to Dad.
I got into the car while Dad stayed out.
“You are not going to join me?” I asked him.
“I would stay back to watch things.” he replied and I drove off without uttering another word.
That was a pretty nice one, it would not be nice if both I and Dad left the scene.
I drove off and decided to stop at a gift shop to get something for Mantha, it just occurred to me that I was not gifting her and spoiling her with things like I have always wanted to.
Perhaps that was because of the issue on ground but then like Dad said, that should not stop me from showing her how much I love and care for her.
I alighted from the car, moving into the gift shop. I glanced at the rows of gifts but could not pick which was suitable for Mantha, she already had a locket around her neck, a lover’s locket so I could not get her another locket or a necklace.
I decided that picking a ring or a hair clip would be the best to do but to pick between the two options was still pretty hard.
In the past, I could have easily placed a call over to Lauren to ask her what a lady would prefer but I could no longer do that.
“Give me the both, the ring and the hair clip.” I said pointing to both items.
“Yes sir.”
It was quickly packed into a small box with the color red and white, I even had no idea what was her best color and then I discovered that I was really missing a lot on Mantha, I hardly knew anything about what she loved the most, I was just her lover in words.
“You’re finally realizing that you are not perfect.” Jay said to me.
“I already know that, do me a favor and don’t remind me.”
I got back into my car, dropped the box by my side and continued the drive. It was still a pretty much long drive.
I finally got home and I could not wait to see Mantha, I would love to take a shower with her too and have her relieve me of my stress.
I alighted from my car with the boxes in my hands and proceeded to go in when I saw Cassie and James.
“Alpha Kayden.” they both bowed.
“Where is Mantha?” I asked.
“She…. She is in her room.” Cassie stuttered and I found that a bit strange.
Yeah, it would not have been so strange before but for the fact that she is now pretty free in this home and still yet stutters was suspicious.
“Okay.”
I proceeded to walk on.
“She is having a rest after a terrible headache….. She…. She does not want anyone in her room Alpha.” she stuttered yet again.
“And am I anyone?” I asked her.
“I am sorry Alpha.” she apologized and I walked on.
I got to her room and pushed the door open with a smile, ready to show her what I had bought for her.
“Mantha.” I called but there was no response.
“Mantha?” I called out again but there was still no response.
I opened the bathroom door but she was not there too, the box in my hand fell to the floor as I rushed out of the room.
I sighted Cassie and James, Cassie’s legs were wobbling badly.
“Cassie!” I called out loud.
“Where is Mantha?!”
“She…. She…. She went out.”
Hell no!
