Samantha’s POV
“She has the same mark with me?” I asked Cassie, with my eyes widening and she nodded.
Loads of thoughts streamed into my head at her nod. Who could it be? A slave also found her way to this place? How was that possible? Who could she be?
“Did she mention her name?” I asked Cassie.
” I already told you she did not say anything about her, it was just me who noticed the mark on her, she simply asked about you and immediately I told her you were not here, she left this place immediately.” Cassie replied and I moved backwards, taking several steps before plopping to the chair behind me.
I cupped my face in my palms, slowly sending my fingers into my messed up hair.
“Is anything wrong? There’s really something about the lady?” Cassie asked, standing beside me and holding my shoulders.
“Can…. can you describe how she looked?” I asked Cassie but she simply looked up to the ceiling like she was thinking.
I could tell that it was hard for her to describe how the lady looked.
“Who could it be?” Cara mumbled.
“I am also trying to think here Cara.” I replied her.
“Okay, let’s just think about the ladies that very well know us among the slaves.” I said to Cara but then concluded that the method was quite useless.
There was hardly any one who did not know me among the slaves but there was none that I was so close to.
“And leaving her identity to go to the most important issue, why did she come here?”
“How did she escape?” Cara asked.
“And how did she manage to know that I now live here?” I asked myself another question.
“Don’t think too much Samantha.” Cassie said to me and I nodded merely to please her.
There was no way I would not think about this issue, if I don’t think about such an important thing then I would definitely be damned forever.
“Would you like to go take a bath then I help you pick a dress to wear?” She asked me but I shook my head.
“I am perfectly fine.” I replied her and got up from the chair.
Her interrupting my thoughts was definitely not needed right at the moment, I needed to stay in my room and think about it more carefully.
I walked up the stairs, feeling the eyes of both Cassie and James on me.
I walked into my room, shut the door and took my seat on the chair that stood before the study table.
I brought out my phone, took a picture of my neck and placed the phone on the table. I then picked a pen and a paper and began to draw the mark on my neck out, mapping it carefully and almost perfectly on the paper.
I was soon done with the drawing and I dropped the pen, picked up the piece of paper and stared at it, raising it up high.
“This sure looks almost perfect.” I mumbled to myself and dropped it.
I had no idea why I had felt the sudden urge to draw the mark out but I really felt that something would be settled if I did so.
Going out to ask if anyone saw a lady with this mark would be quite useless or even dangerous if I get into the hands of some slave masters whose face I do not very well recognize.
I sighed softly and threw my head backwards and that was when a knock came on my door, loud and clear. The person at the door rasped at the door twice before I managed to mumble a two words sentence.
“Come in.”
I heard the door open and the scent of James filled my nose. It was quite strange for him to come into my room especially without Cassie so I guessed whatever he was going to discuss with me had to be a wolf’s thing.
“Anything the issue?” I asked, facing him fully hoping that whatever he had for me would be at least good news.
“I did not tell you when I was downstairs because of Cassie, she might suspect me…. I recognize the lady.” he said to me.
“Really?” I asked and he nodded.
“I saw her from afar but with my wolf’s instincts, I could very well take in what she looked like.” he replied.
“Can you explain what she looks like to me then? I really do have to know.” I said to him.
“This is about the issue Alpha Kayden is currently on, right? The slavery issue?” He asked.
“How did you know about it already?” I asked.
“All trusted wolves are to be informed and turns out I am Alpha Kayden’s trusted.” he replied.
“Good for you then…. Can you now describe the lady?” I asked him and he simply moved towards me, picked the pen and a jotter and sat on the couch.
“Permission to sit?” He asked when he had already taken his seat.
“You’re sitting already.” I pointed out and he chuckled softly before focusing on the drawing that he was dealing with.
“How is things going with Cassie?” I asked him and saw him pause for a second.
“Everything is going very fine.” he replied and I nodded, figuring out that he did not want to talk about it at the moment.
I waited impatiently for minutes waiting for him to finish drawing what he was drawing, like am elementary school kid, he did not allow me to see what he was drawing.
“You would see it when I am done.” he replied me.
“Oh… Okay Mr. James.” I managed to find a little bit of humor.
I watched him as he drew from a distance.
“I just hope it is someone good that is drawing, someone I can get some hope from.” I said to Cara.
“It just has to be.” Cara responded optimistically and I kind of figured out it had to be, really.
“Finally done!” James clapped his hands, got up from where he was seated and approached me with the jotter in his hands.
He handed over the jotter to me and my eyes widened in surprise on seeing who it was.
