Lauren’s POV
I watched both of them from a distance with anger written on my face. I would not be going easy on Samantha at all today, I would make sure I ruin her face during the fight.
I watched Kayden smile at her, smiles that he hardly ever shows to me, someone just pops up in his life and he is smiling so widely at her, ignoring me who has been with him all this while.
It took me a lot to convince his dad to set up the contest between me and Samantha and I am not misusing the opportunity.
Honestly, I was quite surprised by her speed last night but for her speed to be as good as mine, she must have focused on only speed training, I would be able to defeat her when it comes to other contests.
Samantha was the beginning of my ruin with Kayden but I would not let her be the end of it.
I walked away from there and took my seat.
“Hello, Miss. Lauren.” a lady walked up to me, she was one of Kayden’s business partners.
“Hello, Miss.” I smiled at her.
“I thought you said you are Mr Kayden’s fiance?” She asked and I slowly nodded, trying to make sure I still had that smile on my face.
“Yes I am, problem ma’am?” I asked her.
“Are you sure the both of you had no fights? Because he just introduced a very beautiful lady with sweet smiles to me as his fiancee,” she replied and I just needed no one to tell me that it was Samantha.
“I’m….. I… The thing is that….” I stuttered, not knowing what I could say to get myself out of the situation.
The truth was that over the years I had been introducing myself to some of Kayden’s business partners as his fiancee.
“You and Mr Kayden have never been in a relationship? You just brought up your wishful thinking?” She asked.
“Miss, that’s rude. I am Kayden’s fiancee and very soon, you will be attending our wedding.” I said, got up from where I was seated and walked away.
I walked to the restroom and splashed some amount of cold water on my face. I stared at my reflection in the mirror and grew even angrier.
Kayden was going too far! The contest had not yet been held to determine who the future Luna would be and yet he is already introducing Samantha to others as his fiancee.
I heard footsteps behind me and a sharp scent that I had come to recognize as Samantha.
I looked at her and she looked back at me with a soft smile playing on her lips.
“You are happy? Ugh? You think because Kayden is introducing you to others, you have won?” I asked.
“Oh, I see that you heard about it already. I was going to tell you about it,” she replied.
“I see that staying with Kayden has increased your sense of pride, right?” I groaned.
“You call him Kayden behind him but can you face him and call him that? No, but I? I can do that without fear now, I can call him darling, I can call him my Kay and he would only smile in response. That is the major difference between the both of us.”
“You keep quiet! All of that you have stated would be useless as soon as I get him to be mine tonight. Call him yours for as many times you can today because by tonight you would never have that chance anymore.” I stated, trying to hold back my anger.
“It’s a contest Lauren, no one can determine its winner till it comes to an end. You really should be calm and wait for the contest to come before you start laying your claims,” she replied with that same very composed stance that made me wonder if my words got her at all.
“You are just a girl without a particular source, No one would accept you,” I said to her and made to walk away but she held my hand.
I looked at my arm that she was holding with disgust before looking at her smiling face.
“I am a girl without a particular source… But you do have a source, right? Why doesn’t Kayden love you then, a girl with the source?”
“You…” I gritted my teeth, jerked my hands off hers and walked away from the restroom in a fit.
Samantha’s POV
I was super glad, super happy at myself for the sharp response that I gave to Lauren, she does think that she can just say some words to me.
“How was I, Cara? I was so cool, right?” I asked.
“Super cool, just look at how pained she is.” Cara chuckled and I did the same.
Truth be told, some of her words did hurt especially when she called me a girl without any source but then one of the things that I learnt from Kayden was that smiling at your enemies always leaves them confused and pained and that did truly happen.
I adjusted my dress and walk out of the restroom. The venue was now filled by now with different people all around. I looked around to see if Cassie was present and my eyes finally found her.
She sighted me too and headed towards me with James by her side.
“You are looking beautiful.” I pointed out to her.
“Alpha Kayden allowed me to attend not as a maid but as a guest” she grinned happily.
“I can feel his good and warm heart now,” she added.
“And the dress?” I asked her and she pointed to James.
“He bought it for me,” she replied shyly and I chuckled.
“Hello there.” I waved at James.
“You are looking dashing, Alpha Kayden sure knows how to take perfect care of his mate,” James said to me.
“I would take that as a compliment.”
“And the both of you… How are you kicking it off?” I asked, facing James.
“Kicking what off?” Cassie asked with a shy smile.
“Don’t tell me you’ve not yet confessed your feelings.”
“Wh… what feelings?” Cassie stuttered.
“Who are you trying to deceive?” I asked her and patted James’ shoulder.
“Why are you wasting time? You want me to set up a date for Cassie already?” I asked him and his eyes narrowed for a moment.
“Of course not,” he replied.
“Then do what you have to do,” I added and began to walk away.
I stopped at a little distance and looked back to look at the couple.
“Er… Cassie, you… You should very well know already by now… That I… I…” I chuckled at home much James was stuttering.
It made the scene look even cuter.
“What are you staring at?” Kayden asked, snaking his arms around my waist.
I held his hand to my waist and pointed out to Cassie and James.
“I… I do love you.” James said to Cassie and Cassie took her gaze to the floor.
“That’s so cute.” I clapped my hands excitedly.
“I… I love you too James, I do love…..” James cut her off with a mind-blowing kiss.
“Wow! Look at the both of them!” I said excitedly. For that moment, every thought of the contest seemed to have vanished and I was sucked into this world of love and cuteness.
“They look so hot and lovely.” I complimented and Kayden stood in front of me, blocking my view to the kissing couple.
“What are you doing?” I grumbled, trying to look at them.
He pulled me to his chest, wrapping his arms around my waist.
“I think we both look hotter and more lovely,” he said with a smirk and leaned in for a kiss.
I grabbed his collar, stood on my toes, dragged him down to my height and pressed my lips onto his own soft pair.
“Wow!!” I heard excited shrieks and I smiled against his lips.
I maintained my grab on his collar as he ravished my lips and mouth with his skilful tongue.
