Samantha’s POV
I stepped out of the bathroom in the dress that Kayden got for me, it definitely had to be the prettiest dress that had ever come in contact with my skin.
“How do I look?” I asked and he raised his head to look at me.
I watched his lips part slightly as he stared at me intently without saying a single word.
“Anything wrong? Why are you staring at me?” I asked but he gave no reply but just continued staring at me.
“Kayden, I asked you…..” He walked over to me, cupped my face in his palms and leaned in for a kiss.
I smiled against his lips and let him kiss me, I wrapped my hand around his body. His hands travelled from my face to my waist where he pulled me closer.
His tongue and mine touched as he deepened the kiss. After some minutes, he broke the kiss and licked his wet lips.
“Continue looking this hot every day and don’t blame me for mating with you,” he said and my face reddened.
If I win the contest, tonight would be the night for it too, everything was to happen on this special night but yet the night could only be special if I won.
He wrapped his hand around my waist and looked forward.
“Let’s get going, what do you say?”
“Sure,” I mumbled a reply and we ventured out of the room.
“Good morning Alpha Kayden, happy birthday to you.” Lauren greeted and I mentally rolled my eyes.
I hated her presence especially when she had to be around my man.
“You sure do know thanks is not a word I would be saying to you, right?” Kay asked and I smiled victoriously.
“What if I win?” Lauren asked with a desperate look.
“Give up already Lauren, just go back to being my friend… No, you lost that chance too… Just forget about it, you would never get me.” Kay replied.
Lauren was about to say another word when i interrupted.
“Darling, let’s start going already,” I said to Kay, rubbing his chest gently.
“Sure love,” he replied and we both proceeded in our walk out of the mansion.
“Just wait! I am going to win today and be yours!” She yelled from behind us but both I and Kay paid no attention to her words.
“Get in.” Kay smiled at me, opening the car door.
I stepped in and Kay did the same. I moved closer to him as the car began to move, I held onto his arm and rested my head on his shoulder.
We stayed in that position throughout the whole ride, the whole time my eyes did not leave his wristwatch, not because I was going to give him a new one but because the more the night drew closer, the more scared I was.
The car finally came to a halt and we both alighted.
“Whatever questions you are asked in there tonight, just leave it to me. I will have you covered.” Kay said and I nodded.
I was really lucky to have someone like him, he knew little about me but still yet he was willing to protect me and save me from any form of embarrassment.
He held onto my waist and I looked at him.
“Is this a bit wrong? What if I lose and can’t get married to you? Then I would be regarded as a side chick.” I said to him.
“You do know that you talk too much and worry too much, I already told you that no matter what happens, you are the one I am going to get married to, not Lauren and not any other person,” he replied, adjusting my hairstyle.
“Hmm.” I grinned, a fake grin to satisfy him and we both walked into the huge venue.
The place was furnished so well, what the hell am I expecting from one of the richest families in the country anyways?
I looked around and took in what everyone there looked like, they looked classy, everyone sure had a huge status.
I would have looked different if I wore any dress of mine, Kayden got me covered.
“He sure does think better than you do.” Cara joked.
“And Jay too thinks better than you,” I replied her.
“Hey, Good day.” a lady greeted me and Kay.
“Good Day Miss. Karen.” Kayden replied.
“This has to be the first time I am seeing you hold a lady by your side in the years I have been attending your birthday parties, who is she?” The lady asked and I took my lips in.
“She is my fiance,” Kayden replied and I darted towards him.
I was expecting him to tell a lie, at least for now but his honest words made my heart fall for him yet again.
“Is he not just the best?” I asked Cara.
“Of course, he is the best.”
“Wow, she is really pretty. It was worth the wait.” the lady complimented.
“Thank you, ma’am,” I said to her.
“Take care of Mr Kayden,” she replied and I nodded with a gentle smile, she grinned back at me and walked away with a smile.
“Kay, you…. you are really brave to tell her immediately that I am your fiance,” I said to him.
“I said that because that is who you are to me, I was not telling any lies and I said it to assure you that I am yours only,” he replied.
“Don’t tell me you did not get anything for me,” he grumbled.
“And why in the world would that happen?” I asked.
“Where is it then?” He asked and I dug my hand into the purse I was holding and brought out the box.
“Here you go, it’s not really expensive, I didn’t have a whole lot with me so I just….”
“Thank you so much.” he cut me off and hugged me right in the middle of everyone.
“What are you doing?” I asked him, mumbling while he still held me tightly.
“I am simply trying to make enough people know about our relationship,” he responded and pulled away from the tight embrace.
“Such a pretty lady, who is she to you Alpha?” A man asked whispering the last part and I immediately confirmed that he was also a wolf.
“She is my mate, the future Luna,” he replied.
“Really? Did you find your mate? Congratulations Alpha Kayden.” the man bowed slightly.
“Good day Miss.” he bowed to me slightly.
“Good day sir,” I replied him, still quite shy by this new status that Kayden was putting me to.
“When are you going to announce her to the others then?” The man asked.
“I would be announcing her tonight.” Kayden replied with a smile on his face.
“I was wondering how you became much more approachable, now I see the reason.” the man grinned.
“I wish you luck.”
“Thank you for your wishes,” Kayden replied and the man walked away.
“You did not tell me that you would be introducing me to some people,” I said to Kay.
“Isn’t it just better that way?” He asked and we walked forward.
“Where are we going off to?” I asked him.
“The celebrant’s seat,” he replied and opened up the box.
“This is beautiful.” he complimented.
“I very well know that yours look better,” I mumbled.
“No, I think yours look more peculiar and unique.” he insisted and pulled off the wristwatch he was wearing.
“What are you doing?” I asked him.
“Putting it on.”
“No… Yours looks better and goes along with your dress very well.” I said to him.
“You don’t expect me to dump your gift, I don’t care about what it is and how it looks like, what I really do care about is the heart that sends it to me and your heart…. Your heart is the best heart that can send things to me,” he replied and put on the wristwatch.
“Don’t you think I suddenly look more dashing?” He asked and I chuckled softly.
“You sure do as you always do.”
