Chapter 80

Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-31

Kayden’s POV
I was so damn curious about what the mark meant now but I did not want to ask Mantha yet, I wanted her to feel secure enough, I wanted her to trust me enough and then get her to tell me all about it.
If I go about it the right way, she would tell me all about herself. I did not want to compel her wolf side so she could tell me about herself. I wanted her to tell me about it all voluntarily because she had trusted me enough.
I glanced at my wristwatch and wondered why she was not down yet.
“Lot of years without a lady by your side has made you forget that ladies take a lot of time to dress up?” Jay asked.
“I guess so.”
Her scent filled my nose and I looked back to see her in a red dress that looked like it was made for her, she looked so pretty in it and before I forget to include it, she looked down to earth sexy.
“Why are you staring at me so much?” She asked, taking her eyes to the floor.
“You are so pretty, it would have been such a huge load if I had missed you,” I replied her
“You’ve learnt cheesy words?” She asked, walking up to me.
“Those are not cheesy words, they are words from my heart,” I replied, pointing to my left chest.
“From your heart? Where is it? Where is your heart?” She asked and pretended to be searching for something.
“My heart is right here” I replied her.
“Where? I can’t find it”
“My heart already found you and it is not going to let go”
“But I can’t find your heart.” she insisted playfully and I sighed softly.
I held onto the hems of the top I was wearing and was about to pull it off so I could show her the exact spot where the heart was.
“What are you about to do?” She asked, her face, flushing up in an instant.
“What I am about to do? I am going to show you the heart that you can’t find.” I replied her.
“Or have you found it now?”
“I have already,” she replied and before I could reply, she stood on her toes and pecked my cheek.
She ran off and I smiled gently.
Hell! A kiss on the cheek? Does she think that she’s a high school kid? I walked over to where she was and carried her in my arms.
“Wh… What are you trying to do?” She asked.
“We are going out so I am taking you to the car.”
“I can walk on my own,” she replied.
“Just keep it low and let me treat you well, like the queen that you are,” I said to her and she buried her face in my chest, holding onto my clothing tightly.
I placed her in the backseat of the car and got into the backseat too but then the smile on her face disappeared.
“What’s wrong? You don’t want to go yet?” I asked her.
“No… That’s not it, of course, I want to go out with you right at this moment but…. but can we go alone?” She asked and my lips curled up in a dirty smirk.
“You want us to go alone? Why? You think something private might come up?” I asked her with a wink and she hit my shoulder lightly.
“What are you always thinking about?”
“I am always thinking about you,” I replied her and she took her lips in.
“Okay agreed! Something private might come up, so can we go alone?” She asked.
“Cool but you would have to sit in the front seat while I drive, I want to hold your hands while I drive,” I replied to her and got out of the car.
I opened up the driver’s seat and waved the driver to leave.
“C’mon,” I said to Mantha and she rushed into the front seat.
“When do you think I look charming the most? Tell me and don’t be shy.” I said, igniting the car into motion.
“I… I think you look handsome and charming when you are driving and when you just finish having a bath,” she replied.
“Really? So someone admires me when I am driving.” I chuckled and held her hands.
She rested her head on my shoulder while I drove the car with one hand.
“You’ve had anything this morning?”
“Not yet, I was going to have breakfast later,” she replied.
“Then let’s go to a restaurant first.”
I swerved into another lane and led the car to a huge fancy restaurant that stood tall in the middle of the other houses.
It looked like a princess standing in the middle of other peasants.
“This place… This place is so classy and beautiful but… But it must cost a lot, let’s not eat here. Let’s go somewhere else.” Mantha said.
“Mantha,” I called and she giggled.
“What?” I asked.
“I love it when you call me Mantha, I love it so much,” she replied.
“Then let’s go in, Mantha.”
“Sure but we are not going to spend too much,” she replied and I nodded in agreement.
We both walked into the restaurant, it was half-filled up with other diners and that was unsuitable for me and Mantha. After all, private things could happen anywhere and anytime.
“Have your seat,” I said, sitting her on a chair.
“Where are you off to?” She asked.
“Just a minute,” I replied to her, kissed her soft cheek and walked away.
“Can I see the manager here?” I asked the secretary.
“The manager… Of course, you can.” the secretary replied.
“I will lead you to him.”
A few minutes later
I walked back to the seat where I had left Mantha and sat opposite her.
“I am back, hope you didn’t miss me quite too much?” I asked and she shook her head to indicate the negative making me frown.
“You didn’t miss me?” I asked.
“It was just a few minutes, I did not,” she replied.
“What the… How could you not miss me?”
“Just kidding, I missed you so much Kay…. but why is everyone suddenly leaving this place? Is something wrong?” She asked, looking around.
“I paid to make them excuse us. You wanted privacy, right?” I asked.
“What the… There’s no need for such privacy here, how much did you pay?”
“Not too much” I replied.
“How much is not too much?”
“50, 000 dollars”
“50, 000 what?!”
“Why did you pay so much? ”
“For our privacy, you wanted the privacy,” I replied.
“That’s… That’s… That’s too much!”
