Chapter 78

Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-31

Kayden’s POV
“You should not have let her go.” Jay scolded me.
“She said she wanted to leave, I could not hold her back,” I replied.
“Look at you, you can’t make our mate sleep here?”
“She clearly said she wanted to go back, I asked her if she wanted to stay but she said no and I do not want to seem clingy.”
“It’s okay to be clingy in this situation Kayden. She is our mate, it’s okay to be clingy.”
“C’mon, she would not like that. I am an Alpha, I should not be too clingy. Tomorrow is a new day, I would have enough time with her.”
“Sure you would. Don’t tell me you are going to work tomorrow.”
“I am not going anywhere. I am going to do what my Mantha wants me to do and we are going to spend quality time together.” I replied.
“Your Mantha? Someone in being possessive, isn’t this the one who rejected Mantha in the first place?”
“I have accepted her now, can we just forget that I ever did that?” I asked.
“Oh, we can’t. Don’t you feel good now that you have let it all out?” Jay asked and I smiled gently.
It felt good now and I felt like a heavy load had been taken off my chest.
“I… It is great.” I replied.
“Just great or you’ve got more words?”
“Okay, Jay. You are so inquisitive, it’s much better telling her my feelings, it’s really much better to let go of the past. I feel elevated, in years, I have not felt this way.” I replied.
“Nice epistle! I wish you could tell that to Mantha herself,” he said.
“C’mon, that would be too cheesy,” I replied.
“I knew that would be the sentence you would let out,” Jay said and I chuckled.
I got into bed and pulled the blankets over my head.
In a few seconds, I was asleep and in years that was the fastest that I had gone to sleep.
The next morning
I woke up feeling at my very best, the feeling of having a mate that you had a special bond with was too good.
“Good morning Jay.”
“Good morning Kayden, bet you had a great night.”
“I really did, to be honest. I slept soundly.”
My phone beeped with a message and I grabbed my phone to come across a message from my mum.
“Love, won’t you come home? Your mum and Dad are here missing you.” the message read and I slipped the phone back onto the table beside me.
“You are going to go back home?” Jay asked.
“Not just yet, I want to spend time with Mantha before returning home.”
“You are going to tell your mum and dad about Mantha?” He asked.
“I am sure going to but that’s when I get home. it’s too much of good news than to be said over the phone.”
“I agree,” Jay replied and I finally got up from my bed.
I glanced at the walk clock, it was a few minutes past 8 am and that was like the longest sleep that I had in years now. The peace I was getting was simply unimaginable and I even wished I had accepted Mantha earlier.
I rushed to the bathroom, stripped and took a quick bath. Perhaps the bath was quick because I no longer needed to find solace in the coldness of the waters.
Now, I only had one major issue perturbing me and that was the issue of the wolf hunters but yet, it was an issue I was going to avoid thinking of today. Today is going to be fully dedicated to my mate.
I dried up my body and dressed up randomly in all-white attire, white round necks, white jeans and white sneakers.
I took a look at my reflection in the mirror and I bet I looked charming.
I clicked on a button that was attached to my study table and in a minute, there was a knock on the door.
“In.”
The door opened and James walked in.
“G… Good morning Alpha Kayden… I… I hope Miss. Mantha already explained things to you.”
“You talk too much, clear out a room, furnish it with only the best and move Mantha in there,” I said to him.
“Yes, Alpha.”
He had turned to leave when I called his name.
“James.”
“Sir?”
“Good luck with Cassie.”
“Ugh? Thank you so much sir” he bowed slightly and walked out of the room. How his romance was going to end up was still indefinite. He might get in conflict with his wolf side when he rejects his mate for Cassie.
I looked away from the door and shot up from the chair I was sitting on. I stepped out of the room for no particular reason, maybe I just hoped to see Mantha.
I walked down the stairs to the living room and that was where I met her, she was still yet cleaning.
Does she realize her status as the mate of Alpha Kayden and my future Luna?
I sighed and wrapped my hands around her waist, pulling her away gently from the centre table she was cleaning.
“Hey… Good morning Alpha… Good morning Kay.”
“Good morning Mantha,” I mumbled a greeting to her and kissed her cheeks, while still back hugging her.
“How was your night?” I asked.
“It was incredible… I was thinking of you,” she replied.
“Same here, I was thinking about ‘eating you.'” I replied her naughtily and felt her breath hitch.
“Just kidding… But real soon, it would no longer be kidding, I would be eating you.” I added and she covered her face with her palms.
“Don’t cover your face up, I want to see that flushed up face,” I demanded.
“No, don’t look.”
“I want to see that flushed face, it sure would make me want to eat more of you.”
“Alpha Kayden!” She walked, throwing her hands off her face.
“Have you always been this naughty?” She asked.
“You threw your hands off your flushed face, does that mean you want me to eat more of you?” I drawled, inching closer to her.
“You… You are so naughty.” she covered her face up with her both palms.
“Cute,” I mumbled and kissed her forehead.
“Welcome to a new day, Mantha my love.”
