Samantha’s POV
“I… I will be going back to my quarters now.” I said to Alpha Kayden when I felt something hard poke me.
He was having an erection! And I could feel my own body you easily respond to his hands on my body. I was not ready for the mating yet so I had to leave.
“Where the heck are you going? You have to stay back with him.” Cara said.
“I… I can’t do it this night.” I mumbled to her and got off Alpha Kayden’s body.
“Oh… Okay. Good night.” Alpha Kayden said to me and I hurried to the door.
I was about to turn the knob when his voice halted me.
“You mind staying here for the night?” He asked.
“You do not mind!!” Cara literally screamed.
“I… I…” I stuttered not knowing what response to give to him.
He got up from the bed and walked up to me.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to stay for the night,” he whispered reassuringly and inched closer making my breath hitch for a moment.
He tucked my hair behind my ears and kissed my lips softly. I deepened the kiss but it was at that moment that he broke the kiss.
“If you continue with that, you might really be spending the entire night here,” he smirked and how incredibly handsome he looked with the smirk on.
“Good night Alpha….” His face squeezed into a deep frown making me realize my mistake.
“Good night Kay.”
I rushed out of his room, with smiles on my face. I just could not stop smiling like a fool that he was slowly making me turn into.
I walked into the corridors of the quarters with a cheeky and silly smile on my face.
“Someone is still yet being a total dumb in love.” Cassie teased and I giggled endlessly but my giggling ended when she frowned deeply.
“You think you can just giggle? You have known Alpha Kayden is your mate and you did not bother to tell me about it?” She asked, crossing her arms beneath her breasts.
“C’mon, I was going to tell you sooner or later,” I replied.
“Did Alpha Kayden think that the both of us have something together?” James asked and I nodded.
“He was jealous.” I giggled yet again.
“Hope you cleared things with him ma’am?” James asked and I darted my eyes towards him.
“Ma’am?”
“Of course ma’am. You are Alpha Kayden’s mate, how could I refer to you without enough respect and acknowledgement?”
“You don’t need to be so courteous.” I waved it off.
“We need be,” Cassie confirmed.
“Okay sir and okay ma, I have cleared things up with Alpha Kayden,” I replied adding the same form of respect to them.
“I can’t believe I was talking to Alpha Kayden’s mate all this while. I just hope he pities me and does not take away my head.” James said with real fear in his eyes.
“You would not let that happen, right?” Cassie asked me.
“Of course. Kay is not that bad.”
“You’re calling him Kay already?” Cassie gasped.
“He requested I call him that.” I replied.
“Wow! The both of you have gone so far. The good good good night James, I really have some catching up to do!” Cassie shrieked, grabbed my arms and pulled me into the quarters.
She sat me down on the only couch that was in the room and sat beside me too, curiosity written clearly over her face.
“How did it all happen?” She asked.
“Nothing happened exactly… That night, the night I shapeshifted, I was happy because I found out that Alpha Kayden was my mate, it was like the best news I could ever get in my life and then… The next day, at night, he rejected me”
“Rejected you? That was the reason you went to bed in tears?” She asked and I nodded.
“But it’s all okay now. He has accepted me, he loves me now and I love him so much too.”
“Lovely couples! I have always known that the both of you are the best match, and not that Miss. Lauren.” Cassie huffed.
“You know what I am going to do? I am going to slam your wedding cake on Miss. Lauren’s face on your wedding day.” Cassie said.
“You don’t need to do it, I will do it myself,” I replied and we both laughed.
“How are things going between you and James?” I asked.
“We are doing very fine but… I really do think that James is hiding something from me, it seems like he wants to tell me something but he is holding back,” she replied and I gulped knowing very well what he was hiding from her.
“Maybe he is trying to confess his feelings to you and he is simply being shy.”
“That might be the case.” her face eased up and she let out a sleepy yawn.
“Time to go to sleep,” she mumbled and jumped onto her bed and I did the same.
I was happy for my relationship with Alpha Kayden but I still felt a part of me felt sad, after all, Cassie’s relationship was not so stable, there were secrets. I held the flower he had given me in my hands and gently placed it on the small table beside me.
“You also do have secrets.” my subconsciousness reminded me and I gulped.
I just hope I can remain with him forever, I really do hope that one day the slave masters do not catch up with me and take me away from him.
“He is not going to let that happen,” Cara replied.
“I am still a bit scared.”
“How about we tell him about the issue of slavery? I do not think Alpha Kayden is going to push you away.” Cara stated.
“I don’t know why Cara. I trust him a lot but I just can’t get myself to tell him that I am a slave and that I have kept it from him all these while.”
“Sooner or later, he is going to discover.”
Maybe it will be better to let him know soon.
