Samantha’s POV
I was awoken by James and I was quite surprised to find myself laying on the couch. I remembered falling asleep while sitting on the floor.
“What are you doing here?” James asked me and I quickly got up from the couch.
How could a maid be found sitting on the couch of the boss?
“You can’t fall asleep here, you might annoy Alpha Kayden,” he warned and at that time Alpha Kayden made his entrance. I turned my head towards his direction and found him very furious.
He ferociously moved towards me and James. He pulled James and pushed him off roughly.
“You! I have had just enough of you! You stay away from my mate!” He thundered.
“Did Alpha Kayden just acknowledge me as his mate?” I asked myself a seemingly obvious question.
“Your… Your mate?” I stuttered and he turned to face me.
“You have any problem with that?” He asked and fused my lips with his before I could say another word. I smiled against his lips happily, Alpha Kayden had just acknowledged me as his mate and was kissing me in front of James.
I wrapped my hand around his heavily built body and pressed my body against his hard chest. His tongue flicked at my lips and I opened up almost immediately, our tongues entangled and I took in his sweet taste.
He kissed me long and hard, sucking and nibbling on my lips. After a long while of kissing, he broke the kiss and we stared at each other eyes.
“I love you mate” he mumbled and my heart did a triple flip. I could not hold back the smiles as he kissed my forehead.
“Wow!” I heard Cassie’s voice and James began clapping too.
I covered my face shyly while Alpha Kayden wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me close to himself.
“You James, I do not want to see you… .”
“Alpha Kayden,” I called softly and he looked at me.
“What is it darling?” He asked and I giggled yet again.
“The thing is James and I are not what you think,” I replied.
“Let’s go off to my room,” he said and held my hands with his warm hands.
“He… He is so cool… His hands are so warm.” I giggled at Cara.
“He… He accepted us! Now the next thing is to bind the both of us!” Cara replied.
“Bind?”
“Of course! It’s time to mate.” Cara responded and my face went red.
“What are you talking about? We… Not so soon.” I mumbled to her.
“What are you being patient about? You love him, he loves you, the moon goddess approves of your relationship,” she replied.
“But still yet… Let us humans take control of that, okay?” I asked and she huffed.
“Whatever.”
I and Alpha Kayden walked into his room and he sat on his bed.
“Have your seat.” he patted the bed but I held back for a moment.
Is Cara right? Is mating the next thing on the list?
“Why is your face going red? You’re thinking about something naughty?” He asked and I diverted my gaze to the floor with a shy smile on my face.
“C’mon” he groaned and pulled me into his arms, making me sit beside him and lay my head on his chest.
“This… This is the best feeling ever.” I said to Cara, snuggling closer to him.
“Mantha,” he called and I looked up into his beautiful eyes.
“You… You’re so pretty and tempting. You should know how much I have wanted to hold you in my hands.” he said and since I did not know what to reply with, I simply smiled back at him.
“About James?” He asked and I sat up.
“Nothing is going on between me and James,” I replied him.
“Why is he always with you then?” He asked.
“He is not always with me, he is always with Cassie,” I replied.
“Cassie? You mean the both of them are… ”
“Yes, they both love each other. ”
“But James might get his mate soon,” he replied.
“I thought so too… Can I keep a secret with you?” I asked.
“Sounds fun, go on.” he urged.
“James lied to Cassie that he is a human so Cassie can give him a chance. Cassie does not want to be in a relationship with a wolf that might find his mate she dump her.”
“That’s not right, no matter what deceit is deceit… James should not do that.”
“I know too… But Alpha Kayden, they both love each other. I trust James to find a way to solve things, he has loved Cassie for a long time now. I think he deserves to be with her, even if it’s for a little while.” I replied him.
“You think that’s love? Just wanting to be with that special someone even if you might not be with that someone forever?” He asked.
“I think so, love is selfish,” I replied.
“Why should it be selfish?” He asked and I shrugged.
“I have no idea Alpha Kayden,” I replied and he placed his finger on my lip.
“Don’t call me Alpha Kayden,” he said to me in a soft voice that blew my mind away.
“Wh… What should I call you then?” I asked him.
“Just call me Kayden,” he replied.
“T… That’s a bit inappropriate.” I stuttered.
“What’s inappropriate? You are my mate you can give me a name or just call my name randomly,” he replied
“Oh… Okay then, how about I call you Kay?” I asked him and he looked into the air for a moment.
“You don’t like the name, I will change it….”
“I love the name, call me Kay,” he said and I nodded repeatedly.
“Uhm… alpha… Kay, can… can we do some things together?” I asked him.
“Ladies along with relationship goals. Okay, I am in,” he said and I grinned.
“When… When did you start liking me?” I asked.
“Is that one of the goals?” He asked.
“No just wanted to know but it’s alright if you….”
“I started liking you. let’s say the very first day I set my eyes on you.”
“That is impossible!” I retorted.
“What do you mean?”
“Back then, you were so stoic and you had this face of stone that made me shiver, there’s no way you could have liked me back then.”
“If I did not like you at all, do you think I would have taken you into my home? I tried to lie to myself that I was doing it simply for nothing but I realize fully well now that I was doing it because I liked you.”
“What about you? Did you fall for me at first sight? ” He asked.
“The truth is I did not. I was scared of you at first after all I had heard of your name and personality a few times but then… Staying by your side for a tiny bit made me develop feelings for you. And… I was really happy when I found out that you were my mate.”
“I was not that glad to find out that you are my mate but now I am,” he replied.
“At first, I thought that even if I had anything for you, I would be able to get rid of it easily but when you turned out to be my mate, I knew… I knew I was in for it. Totally in for it” he added and I smiled widely.
“I thought I could reject you and forget about you but I was wrong, you were on my mind every single time. I just had to let out my feelings because I can no longer hold it back Mantha.”
“You really have no idea how much I love the name Mantha and how much I hated it when you called me Samantha on that night you rejected me,” I replied his words and he kissed my forehead sending butterflies in my stomach once more.
“I would forever call you Mantha from now on, okay?” He asked and I nodded repeatedly.
“Here, have this flower,” he said and handed me a pretty flower.
“What’s it?” I asked.
“My eternal love for you from now on. It signifies that I have taken my heart from wherever it previously resided and given it to you,” he replied.
“I would cherish your heart… Kay.”
“Come to think of it… You have never told me you love me directly,” he said.
“I am too shy to tell you that.”
“You have to say it. I have said it a couple of times now… You have to say it.” he urged.
“I… I love you so much, Kay.” I hugged him tightly.
