Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-31

Samantha’s POV
I was about to step into the car when I heard my name, I did not need to see the face before I knew who it was, Lauren.
I turned to face her and bowed slightly.
“Samantha,” she called yet again.
“Yes ma’am.”
“Don’t you even dare try to think that you can get Kayden to be yours.” she threatened.
“Listen to me carefully, everyone thinks that we are the perfect match, his mum and his dad too but you… There’s nothing you can do that would make you worthy of him,” she said to me and I clenched my fists in anger.
She might be good in all ways but I had one advantage over her, I was Alpha Kayden’s mate and she was not, Alpha Kayden did not see her as often as he saw me too.
“I understand you, Miss. Lauren.” I managed to force a smile.
“Good,” she mumbled and walked away.
I gritted my teeth, breathing heavily with Cara that seemed to be going angry. She was annoyed at the words of Lauren, not being worthy of Alpha Kayden.
“If I am not worthy, the moon goddess would not have chosen me! She is simply pained that she is a loser! If she is so qualified and worthy, why in the world would the moon goddess not make her Alpha Kayden’s mate instead?” Cara seethed.
“A big fool! That’s what Lauren is!” I said to Cara and got into the car.
The car zoomed off and in minutes, we were back home. I rolled off to the quarters and got in bed.
“Want to have a chat?” Cassie asked.
“Just go and see James, I bet he misses you.” I urged her.
“What are you saying? You are my friend too,” she replied and pulled me up from the bed.
“Okay… Just this once.” I gave in and followed her. James was already waiting outside the quarters for us.
We roamed around the home doing nothing but talking about random stuff till we got to a spot, the spot where I had shapeshifted.
“Why is that small garden now overcrowded?” I asked James.
“Alpha Kayden does not allow anyone in there. The both of you would better stay away from the place.” James replied and I pouted in slight confusion.
Alpha Kayden did not seem to be pissed when I went to the garden back then but I figured out that it would be better if I just stay away from the garden for now.
Kayden’s POV
I arrived home and looked around the living room, there were no signs of Mantha around. I headed to my room and had a quick bath before changing into some random clothes.
I returned to the living room and decided to do something that I had not done in a very long time, I decided to watch a TV show. I turned on the television and began watching but I still had little or no interest in the show.
“Alpha Kayden.” three voices chorused and there was the unmistakable voice of Mantha amongst the voice.
“Where have you been?” I asked, keeping my eyes on the television show.
“W…. we have been taking a walk,” Mantha replied.
“Come over here.” I waved at her and she moved closer.
What angered me most was the fact that James was there with her too. Like does he have to stay anywhere Mantha is?
“Alpha.”
“Have your seat.” I ushered her and she sat on the floor, crossing her legs.
What sort of stupid girl is this? Who sits on the floor? I decided to let her be.
“What do you want me to do sir?” She requested to know.
“I want you to sit there and watch TV without a single complaint,” I replied her.
“Yes Alpha,” she replied and then her words were followed by a giggle.
She watched the TV with me and after a while, I found out that the movie made sense and the entertainment was great. I looked at Mantha to ask her what she thought about the movie when I found that she was already sleeping.
I sighed and shook my head. I moved to her and crouched beside her sleeping figure.
How can someone sleep while sitting?
I watched her peaceful face, she had the most beautiful skin and face and I knew that having skin as great as hers was a blessing.
I carried her in my arms and placed her on the couch, I walked to my room and got her a blanket. I returned to the living room and covered her up with the blanket. I caressed her face and tucked her hair behind her ears.
“You are really pretty Mantha,” I mumbled and got up from my crouched position.
What the heck am I saying? I ran a hand through my hair and walked over to the television. I turned it off and walked out of the living room.
I went to the small garden that was cultivated by Diane and sat in the middle of the crowd. The garden was overgrown but for years I had made sure that no one cut a single plant there, they are the works of Diane but I think now, if someone is willing to take it up, I would give it to her.
“By her… You mean you would be giving it to Mantha?” Jay asked.
“That’s if she wants it,” I replied to him.
“Of course, she would!” He affirmed.
“Diane, I loved you but then… You love the fact that I am going to let go and move on, right?” I asked the flowers.
“I… You would not want me to remain this way for longer, right? I had no idea that I could still get a genuine smile in the world but today….. When Mantha made me smile, I realized something, I like….. I like her, she’s my mate but even before that, I already did like her. She is lighting up my dark world, you want her to continue, right?”
“Of course, that is exactly what Diane wants for you!” Jay said to me and I smacked my lips.
I grabbed a flower from the garden.
“I would take this as your acceptance.” I mumbled and walked out of the garden. I hid the flower behind me.
Hell! It would be cheesy for me to get seen with a flower. Jay kept quiet with ragged breath and excited movements waiting for my next action.
I got into the living room and found James and Mantha talking.
Hell!
I walked over to both of them and pushed James off. I pulled Mantha to my side and grabbed James, pulling him up from the floor.
“You! I have had just enough of you! You stay away from my mate!” I thundered.
“Your… Your mate?” Mantha stuttered and I turned to face her.
“You have any problem with that?” I asked and fused my lips with hers before she could say another word. I felt her smile against my lips and I deepened the kiss, savouring the sweet taste of her lips.
I love you mate!
