Kayden’s POV
No colour turned me on more than the colour blue, I loved my girls wearing blue and seeing Mantha in blue threw me over the edges and I, in turn, threw all forms of caution away into the air.
I wrapped my hand around her soft and delicate waist and fused our lips. The tray of food in her hands dropped and shattered. A piece of the shattered plate pierced my leg but I ignored the sting and carried Mantha up, making her straddle me.
She placed her hands on my shoulders as we continued to kiss hard. My right hand caressed her face and tucked her hair behind her ears while still kissing her.
I sucked on her lips and bit on it gently like I had figured out she liked it.
My leg hit the bed and we fell flat to the bed, breaking the kiss for a moment. We both stared into the eyes of the others and that was when I realized what I had been doing.
I got off her and stood up straight, adjusting my shirt. Mantha too got up in a hurry.
“Wh…. what was that about?” She asked, hope was evident in her voice, a kind of hope I did not want to ruin.
“No… Nothing, you may leave.” I said to her and heard her silently huff before running out.
“Aaaargh.” her voice came and I turned back to find her by my door. the pieces of broken plates had pierced her leg.
“What the….. Why can’t you just look forward when you are walking? What if I am not here to help you up?!” I scolded her, carrying her in my arms.
“If… If you are not here to help, maybe other guys would be,” she replied and I paused.
“Other guys?” I asked.
“Were you even supposed to respond to a rhetorical question?” I asked her, placing her on the couch.
“I had no idea it was a rhetorical question,” she mumbled in her soft voice that made me gulp.
Her voice sounded more attractive and much more pulling! I walked over to where my first aid kit was and brought it out.
“You… You don’t need to do that Alpha Kayden,” she said.
“Okay, and who is going to? Other guys?” I asked before I could keep a leash on my tongue.
“Is… Is Alpha Kayden jealous?” Mantha asked and I shot up my eyes at her.
“I am not in any way jealous. Remember we have a very platonic relationship, I am the master and you are the maid.” I said to her.
“Yes, Alpha.”
“A maid and master relationship? Really? I want you to count how many of your maids you’ve kissed and how many of them you’ve carried up in your arms and how many of them you’ve touched their legs, how many ladies have you brought out a first aid kit for?” Jay asked me.
“And now, which of those series of questions do you expect me to give a response to?” I asked him.
“Well let me say you should answer all to yourself. I don’t need you to give me a reply, just respond to yourself.” Jay replied.
I helped her with her cuts, managing to avoid her gazes the whole time.
“It’s done, you can leave now,” I said to her and she got up on her feet and bowed deeply.
“Thank you Alpha Kayden.” she thanked me and walked out of the room.
I moved closer to the door, stared at her retreating figure one more time and then shut the door.
I pulled off my clothes to go take a bath. My fingers grazed my lips a couple of times and I gulped.
C’mon, it’s just a kiss.
That was what I said to myself before dragging my lazy legs into the bathroom. I took a very long bath and returned to the room, drying up my body.
I dressed up for work, grabbed my suitcase and headed out of the room. The floor has been cleaned and that was when I recalled that I didn’t have breakfast yet.
I had gotten to the living room when I came across Cassie.
“Tell Mantha to send food to my office,” I said to her and walked away even before she could give a response.
Who cares about her response?
I got into the car and the drive began, it was a slow ride, the perfect thing to at least clear my jumbled up the mind for a tiny bit of time but this time around even the calmness that the drive brought to me had reduced drastically. It was like it was telling me to find my own peace somewhere else.
I sighed softly and alighted from the parked car when we finally arrived at the company. It was the same usual process of my almost useless PA and the random greetings.
I got into my office and settled down for work.
“Look at you so serious with work. It would have been better if you were this serious with your relationship with your mate.” Jay grumbled.
“Jay! She has already moved on with James, so why can’t we move on?” I asked.
“Move on? With James? Never is that going to happen! Mantha is ours! She is mine and both you and Mantha, no one is moving on without the other.” he replied.
“But then James really has some guts, you know. How could he try to get attached with Mantha?” I asked before even realizing it.
“Because he has no idea who Mantha is to you and you also freaking have no intention to let him know about it!” Jay scolded and I went quiet for a moment.
“You know what? Let’s forget about the topic for now.” I replied.
“Yeah, there we go again!”
My phone beeped with a message. i grabbed it and checked it out, it was a message from Davis, it definitely has something to do with the attacked pack or it had something to do with the mark on Mantha’s neck.
I opened up the message…..
“On my way to you….. about the mark”
