They became friends that day, but didn’t see each other again for an entire year.
Until, that is, she stumbled across the King and was compelled to wed him. She sighed as she pulled her face up from her hands and remembered their meeting at the castle. Having a son was the only thing she wanted from him.
In addition, she couldn’t allow Olivia or anybody else to spoil it.
Maybe she should’ve been more cautious.
This week’s full moon.
It was on its way, bearing down with increasing force. Werewolfs that had already established dominance over their wolves showed no signs of concern when night fell. People like Spenser, on the other hand, don’t need to be taught to be afraid or angry.
It was natural for him to be afraid; he hated the changes the full moon brought about. It also has anger as one of its characteristics. When he thought about what would cause him to become so aggressive, furious, and destructive, he loathed himself. He sat at his table and wrote, but he made so much errors that he had to denounce and pull out pages again. As he struggled to write, the door opened, and he knew it was Viscar even if his brain wasn’t in the proper place. With his eyes still fixed on the scroll, he strolled in silence, pausing only to take in the sound of his own footsteps.
“Salutations, Your Majesty,” bowed Viscar as he stood before the king.
Spenser remained silent, not in the mood for polite conversation. Also, Viscar got it. When addressed as “My King,”
“How are you feeling?” He inquired as if he didn’t already know the answer. It’s an inappropriate question, Viscar,” Spenser said.
“You already know how I feel. To put it bluntly, it is one of my worst days since it’s the day I turn into a monster. ”
Suddenly, Viscar’s stern countenance softened. Every time there’s a full moon, the King’s words generally do him in. He stepped closer to the king and said, “My King.. all will be great…”
“Fine? ”
Spenser interrupted, staring him square in the eye:
“Even after 10 years, you still think things will turn out okay? When the moon is full, my own people start to fear me because I become a monster. I murdered three individuals during the last two Moons and almost killed you as well. Who can predict what will happen tonight? When I go to murder this time, who will it be? ”
“A night that makes me lose control of the King I am.”
“It’s a night that destroys me and unleashes my inner destructiveness, turning me into an uncontrolled monster with a lust for blood and a desire to see others die, and not even chains can keep me in check. What do you mean it’s fine? ” ,
The muscle that houses Viscar’s heart twitched.
“Carcus informed me that he would be utilizing brand new chains today. They have the power to stop you.
“Oh, please! “Spenser snorted, “That’s what he said the previous time. “Get away from me, Viscar, and don’t bother defending my curse. Don’t worry; I’ll get over it,” he said, picking up his inked feather to continue. “My King….” Spenser interrupted.
“Maybe you can come back later to take me to the cave. “Already Viscar could make out the venom in his voice. If he was disputed with now, he might easily become violent, so Viscar, not wanting to end up on his worst side, bowed and departed.
Ella waited anxiously for the guard to return from the King’s chambers with his verdict.
“The King is eager to greet you”-brought a smile to Ella’s face. Gratitude written all over her face, she bowed and entered.
She was relieved beyond words to have finally been granted an audience with the King after many days of seeking. Having concerns for him, the youngster asked whether there was anything she could do to aid him, such as brewing him a cup of tea. something else She entered the room and saw the King standing quietly by the window, his hands crossed behind his back.
He looked like the picture of composure one would expect from an Alpha. This was the first time in Ella’s memory that he wasn’t found with a book in his hand or a notebook. He was staring silently out the window, as if lost in thought.
Peace and tranquility pervaded the space, maybe reflecting the owner’s demeanor. Ella bowed with her hands clasped in front of her, and Spenser, facing the window, saw that it was really her. “Greetings, My King,” she said. Spenser remained silent and stared silently out the window.
And at that point, Ella chose to change the subject.
“Um…. “I was wondering, my King, whether there was anything you may need me to accomplish. After what seemed like an eternity, Spenser finally spoke.
“You haven’t called for my attention for some days now,”
. “Thank you, Ella; but I don’t need anything from you for now,” he said, still standing behind her with his back to the window. Ella took several deep breaths and focused on slowing her racing heart. There was obviously something wrong with him, and the pain in his voice made Ella turn around to leave, but she couldn’t move. She faced the King once more and said, “M…. Dear King, how are you doing? She finally asked the topic she’d been mulling about for a while: Whenever he bent his head to the side, she met his gaze with sparkling, questioning eyes.
“Have I ever been alright? ” After hearing his sneer, Ella tensed up. He sighed heavily and reoriented his head to look out the window again.
“I’ll get over it, Ella,” he assured her.
