A FOLLOWING TWO DAYS
Olivia spent the entire time locked in her room, trying to get over it and recover.
Two days have passed since the full moon that occurred two days ago. She hasn’t been outside in the sun or even in her room in the last two days. The only people allowed inside were her maid and her two kids.
Even though she knew it was hopeless, she had been praying to the Moon goddess for two days straight that she may find some way to win the King’s forgiveness. She had too much insider knowledge about the King to believe that he was doing her a favor by sparing her a harsh penalty for her crime.
However, Pearl, she reflected.
Pearl must have arranged the whole thing. Since she was the only one in the know, it made logical. How, however, could she treat her that way? And she believed her!
Oh well, she would get even one way or another.
Olivia had stopped what she was doing and was staring out the window at the passers-by. She longs to be out and about again. But how could she do it if everyone treated her with such contempt? Keeping a thief’s gaze fixed on her? There was no way she could regain her trust and be able to go about her day with the same confidence she had had.
Her head trembled pitifully, and at that moment there was a tap at the door. “Who’s it?” she said. She posed the question without revealing her face, and then came the click of the door closing..
She still didn’t care who it was until she heard that awful voice:
“Pleased to meet you, Olivia. “When she saw Natasha enter her bedroom, she whirled around, her eyes narrowing in alarm. Goddamn it! Really? It was her.
“What brings you here?” She snapped, angered at the contentment in her own grin. “Would you just cool down? ” Natasha laughed at the thought.
“I simply wanted to make sure my co-wife was okay since she hasn’t been out of her room in days.”
Olivia’s words cut like a knife, and ice rushed through her veins.
Natasha inched closer and said, “What do you think? There’s no need for me to care how I am doing. Natasha, tell me straight up. You guys came to make fun of me. Ah, I’m sorry, I just can’t shed any tears. ” When Natasha examined her face, she was shocked by how pale it was. It was clear that being confined inside like a prisoner was having a negative impact on her health.
“Olivia, your appearance is repulsive. “She laughed and said, “Oh!! Don’t ask me to look again.” It’s time for you to leave my room, Natasha. Having you here is the last thing I want. Olivia shrieked, her vein lines thickening on her forehead. Having her adversaries see her loss was something she despised. Urgh! Oh, how she resented it!
Natasha rolled her eyes and said, “Don’t bite yourself, Olivia; I’ll be going shortly. But before, I just have a question: How did it make you feel to see the King humiliate you in front of everyone I’ll tell you what it was like…. his remarks to you sounded like a threat. And he told you he didn’t want to see you for weeks? ”
With no response from Olivia, Natasha pushed further closer. “How did it feel…. while you sit back and watch what you’ve plotted for someone else unfold in front of her eyes. ” And then, in a whisper, she said, “and Olivia’s mouth opened in a little gasp. As her nerves chilled, her mouth fell hopelessly. What? A realization hit Olivia like a bolt of lightning as she saw Natasha’s little lips expand into a smirky grin. Natasha…. From Ella’s chamber, she had seen her go. Oh, no. She felt a wave of shock go through her body.
“I can’t believe that was you!”
“It was …. The buck stops with you. ”
“Yes, sweetie, that was me,” Natasha said with a sneer. I know how long you were in Ella’s room since I saw you walk in. Also, I knew Ella wasn’t there since I’d seen her go towards the King’s chambers. And I sensed something was wrong when you walked out looking so tense.
In other words, I investigated the room on my own and had a hunch that you had been responsible for some kind of misdeed there. Then I asked myself, Where else could you plant apart from her bag, which is the only item she had with her? Because of this, I dug and emptied the sack. And I found… well, I’ll let you guess. ” Natasha stopped and smiled, “the Queen’s magnificent jewellery.” And I knew you were up to no good, Olivia; I had a sneaking suspicion. Thus, I was on high alert,” she went on.
“What I can tell you is that had I known what you were up to, I wouldn’t have tried to stop you or gotten in the way of your plans. Actually, I share your hatred of Ella, however…. Do you still remember the day we went hunting and you made fun of the fact that my mother had died? I did warn you that we would have to settle up, and luckily we came up with a great plan. You snake! It was hilarious to see you sob in front of the King. “Olivia clenched her hands into fists and roared.
It was clear that she was on the verge of tears.
” I guarantee you’ll have to pay for this. It will cost you! “Natasha laughed contemptuously and cocked her head to the side. She laughed and said, “That’s what you get for messing with me, Olivia.” “Next time, don’t drag my loved ones into your misery.” Olivia, who was now fuming with rage, said as she left: “How would you also feel if I told you I’d seen Prince Jeremy, slipping out of your chamber late at night?” ”
When Olivia inquired, Natasha quickly halted her progress; she thought she felt her heart stop. Her features collapsed and her face became white. What? She slowly twisted around to face Olivia in an effort to seem defended. I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she said. . “Really?”
Olivia rolled her eyes.
“I saw your interaction with him, Natasha, and I believe you have some explaining to do today. Maybe I’m not the only one with secrets. ”
” I have nothing to hide! You have no evidence that Jeremy was in my room. It was obviously an emergency, even if he was in my room. ” Natasha lost her cool. Her ire sprang from her dread.
Olivia smiled as she reflected over the situation.
“If you knew me, Natasha, you’d know that if I set my mind to it, I could find out anything. But you couldn’t have known it was me who put the ring in your suitcase,” Natasha chimed in. She then said, “Just get over your own unhappiness, Olivia, and quit trying to pull others along with you.”
When not doing it, what does she do? She chewed her nails and flopped down on the bed, shielding her face with her hands. Jeremy; she remembered meeting him when she was single and being so harsh to him when he unintentionally trod on her toes at the market.
She gave him her everything without regard to the fact that he was a Prince and the King’s beta. When they ran into each other again a few days later on the riverside, instead of seeking revenge, Jeremy was playful with her, telling her that he admired her fearlessness.
