Thea went back to the crew early the following day. After finishing her scenes, she went back to her trailer to take a break.
And then, someone she didn’t expect to see came to visit her.
Jessica was there, and she linked her arm with a man Thea didn’t know. Thea was quite surprised to see her.
Thea still remembered that when it was the last time they saw each other, she was still doing another drama. It had almost been one year.
“Thea! I brought you a lot of low-cal snacks. And they are all your favorites!” Jessica looked a bit chubby now. Her face used to be small and thin, having a cutting jawline. But now she was plumper and also prettier.
They said that she was pregnant. Thea didn’t know if it was true. She’d like to congratulate her, but she didn’t know if she should ask since most celebrities would rather keep their pregnancy a secret.
“Thank you, Jess,” Thea leaned forward and left a kiss on her cheek.
“You’re welcome. Oh, by the way, this is my boyfriend, Shawn Lee. Honey, this is Thea, my best friend,” Jessica introduced.
Best friend? When did they become best friends? Thea was confused. But she knew it would be rude if she acted too surprised.
Shawn was tall and handsome. The Lee house was quite powerful in this city as well, but they surely couldn’t get in the same row with the Bradley or the Weston. They were what those people called “new money.”
“Thea Todd, nice to meet you, big fan,” Shawn shook Thea’s hand. His grip was quite powerful, “We have wanted to visit you since a long time ago. But you’re quite busy, so we are not sure if we will interrupt you.”
Thea smiled, “No, you’re not interrupting me at all. Jessica and I are friends. I always want to see her. Please take a seat.”
“Do you have scenes to do later, though?” Jessica asked as she took a seat across from Thea’s.
“Yeah… I still have a couple of scenes to do this afternoon.”
“Gosh. I envy you so much, Thea. You always have countless roles,” Jessica did sound like she envied her.
Thea smiled, “I envy you for having an amazing boyfriend. Now that you’re a winner in your relationship, are you guys planning something big right now?”
Jessica blushed, “Yeah… We’re actually here today to send you the invitation to our wedding.”
“Oh my god!” Thea was so excited, “Congratulations! When is the time?”
“Next month,” Jessica said as she took out an exquisitely wrapped envelope from her purse and handed it to Thea, “I will see you then.”
“I will be there on time. This is so lovely,” Thea took the invitation and leaned forward to hug Jessica. She was genuinely happy for Jessica even though they used to not get along.
“Thank you,” Jessica pulled back, smiling, “It will mean a lot if you could show up at our wedding.”
At this moment, however, Cody happened to walk into the trailer, bringing Thea her cup of coffee, “Jessica!”
“Mr. Bradley!” Both Jessica and her boyfriend stood up the moment Cody got in, “It’s good to see you.”
Cody nodded, gesturing at the sofa so they could sit down again, “I heard you’re getting married. This must be your fiancé.”
“Yeah, this is Shawn,” Jessica nodded, “We’re getting married next month. My assistant has sent an invitation to your office. Please come to our wedding if you’re free then, Mr. Bradley. Your presence will mean so much to us.”
Cody smiled, “Of course. I will check out my schedule. I will be there if I’m available.”
“That will be so nice,” Jessica looked quite nervous. And then, she nudged her fiancé a little, “Honey, you said you have a project that could use Mr. Bradley’s advice earlier, right? Why don’t you ask him now?”
Shawn stood straighter. He looked quite nervous when he faced Cody, “Yes, of course. Do you think it’s convenient, Mr. Bradley?”
“Sure,” Cody blinked and turned around, going to the door, “Girls probably would like to have some private talk. I know a coffee place nearby. Let’s go, Mr. Lee.”
Shawn flattened his suit jacket and followed, feeling flattered.
A worried look appeared on Jessica’s face after the men left the trailer.
She turned to Thea, almost using a pleading tone, “Thea… Could you please do me a favor?”
Thea was surprised, “What do you want me to do?”
Jessica looked like she was about to cry, “I’m gonna get married, but Anna suddenly came to find me. I’m so scared. I’m not even sure if she wants to ruin my wedding. Could you please go find her and ask her not to seek any trouble from me? You’re the one who develops the best right now. She will definitely listen to you for the sake of the old days.”
Thea frowned, “Why did she want to give you trouble, though? Did you do anything?”
Jessica looked like she was not sure if she should tell Thea the truth or not. After being hesitant for a couple of seconds, she finally said, “It’s because of the misunderstanding between us. Do you still remember our debut? She made a mistake, and she didn’t make it to the band in the end … She thinks…. She thinks I was the one who plotted everything, and she wants to get back at me.”
Thea thought for a while, knowing Jessica was probably lying again. She couldn’t offer to help her if she was still lying.
She needed to hear the truth.
“If it’s a misunderstanding, why don’t you explain everything to her? She surely won’t blame you if it’s a misunderstanding. I know Anna. She’s probably too full of herself sometimes, but she never wrongs people.”
Jessica looked panicked. And then, she sighed and told the truth, “I… I actually did something before… But… It’s only because she left me no choice. Do you still remember those rumors about me during the competition?”
Thea thought for a second and nodded, “Yeah.”
