“It was Anna and Tiffany. They plotted it together. They meant to destroy me, so l could never debut. And… I sort of let Anna reap what she sowed.” Jessica finally was honest, “I released those rumors so she would pay for what she did. But it’s been years! She should have already forgotten it. I don’t know what got into her, but this is my wedding. I tried so hard to make Shawn marry me. I really can’t afford to lose this.”
Thea looked away, “Well… It can’t be that easy to persuade Anna. You know how stubborn she could be.”
“I know…” Jessica grabbed Thea’s hand, “And I also know it was my fault. But I don’t have any options anymore. You are my only hope, Thea. Please help me… Just for this time. We used to be friends during the competition. Do you remember? I will return your favor in the future… I promise!”
Thea couldn’t stand when people pleaded with her. She had a soft spot for that. Thea knew her weakness, and she didn’t want to make any mistakes so easily. “Please don’t say that, Jessica. This is quite difficult since I’ve been the outsider of your relationship with Anna or your husband. Besides, Anna and I haven’t talked to each other for years. I’m not even sure if she would like to see me.”
Jessica could tell that Thea was getting soft, so she instantly said, “Thea, I trust you. If you go talk with Anna, she will get a step back for your sake. It would be even better if Mr. Bradley goes along with you.”
So Jessica wasn’t here to ask for her favor? She wanted Thea to use Cody’s power to shake Anna.
Thea sighed, “Well… Jessica, this is also concerning my boss, so I really need to ask his opinion about this. If he would like to do that, we will help you. If he doesn’t, please don’t be mad at me. Okay?”
Jessica looked like she was about to cry. Thea could tell that she was genuinely scared of Anna, “Okay… But Thea, my happiness really depends on you now.”
Thea was quite speechless. But she still joked, “Wow. Suddenly I felt that weight on my shoulder. But really, Jessica, I will try my best to persuade Cody. Just remember there’s nothing I can do if he doesn’t want to go, okay?”
“Okay…” Jessica nodded.
Jessica and Shawn left the site after Cody brought Shawn back.
Cody sat next to Thea, “Jessica must have asked you a favor, right?”
Thea was surprised, “How did you know? Did Shawn tell you?”
“Nope, we just talked about business. But I know people like Jessica quite well,” Cody shrugged, “You guys are not even that close. She must come here to ask for a favor, or she would never remember you.”
“That’s cruel…” Thea sighed.
“What did she…”
“Thea! Your shot now,” The assistant of the director suddenly poked her head in.
“Of course,” Thea stood up from her sofa as she turned to Cody, “Boss, I gotta go. I’ll be back in one hour.”
“Okay,” Cody smiled, “Go slay it, Queen.”
Thea smiled shyly and left.
Cody was left inside the trailer all by himself. He was able to form an educated assumption regarding the nature of the request that Jessica had brought to make of his Thea. He merely wished that his dumb girl wouldn’t have agreed to the plan so quickly.

“So… I’m still hesitant now… I’m not sure if I should help her this time. I mean… I don’t even know if she was telling the truth. Besides, Anna is not the most forgiving person I know.” Thea sighed deeply, feeling difficult. She finally had some time to talk to Cody when they both went back to the hotel.
“No one will hold onto a grudge if they are facing a huge amount of business profits. Anna is not an idiot. She wouldn’t go seek trouble from Jessica and give up all her benefits unless she’s dumb. However…” Cody looked hesitant.
“However?” Thea leaned forward.
“However, if Jessica did something uglier that she didn’t tell you, it would be completely different.” Cody continued.
“So you’re saying that Jessica probably didn’t tell me the truth?” Thea frowned.
“Yeah.”
Even though she had come to beg her for a favor, she continued to refuse to disclose all of the information. That did not sit well with Thea at all.
“Well… If she continues to refuse to tell me the truth, I really don’t see the need to assist her in any way. Just my assumption.”
After learning the truth, Thea’s mood took a turn for the worse.
Cody gave her cheek a very light pinch. He used to think it was adorable whenever Thea blew up her cheeks in anger, and he still does. “I’m not saying that you shouldn’t help her. People have a fondness for Jessica… They make it very difficult to say no. If you choose not to assist them this time, they will find a way to cause you problems at a time that is convenient for them.”
“But what if it’s unfair for Anna if I decide to help Jessica? But what if it’s unfair to Anna? What if Jessica did something really nasty?” Thea asked with a frightened look on her face.
“Well…” Cody strained his eyes as he examined the situation and concluded, “Anna is a successful businesswoman now. She is the most cunning type there is. She would never engage in a risky activity that could put other people in danger just because she harbored resentment toward another person. You could make an effort to get in touch with her. You will be able to find a time to speak with her if she is willing to do so. At the very least, this will demonstrate to Jessica that you made an effort. “So that there won’t be any confusion about what I mean.”
Thea paused for a few moments and then said, “Okay then… It really is a fantastic suggestion.”
