“Mia, this is such an amazing piece!” Thea beamed at her friend and said, “Thank you for bringing this to me. But why didn’t you go to school today? I had the impression that the summer break was finished.”
Mia gave me a reassuring grin and said, “Don’t be concerned about school. This afternoon, I only have a few classes scheduled for myself. By the way, would you be interested in having Japanese cuisine with me later tonight? I shall be there to pick you up at the appointed time.”
Thea gave a satisfied nod. Even if she did, she wouldn’t have had any sequences to film tonight anyhow. “Japanese cuisine seems really interesting. I’ll be here waiting for you when you get here.”
Cody was able to overhear the conversation that was taking place between the two sisters. It appeared as though they were becoming closer to one another.
The knowledge brought a smile to his face. Following the conclusion of filming, Cody followed Thea and Mia away from the set. They were successful in locating the most upscale Japanese restaurant in the city.
They had booked a quiet suite a couple of hours earlier, and the waiter showed them the way there.
Thea never took her mask or her sunglasses off. She always wore them. She didn’t remove them until after the waitresses had left the restaurant.
After she had the opportunity to show her face to everyone, she exhaled deeply before doing so.
Mia asked while she was removing a piece of roasted beef from the heating board, “So, what precisely is going on with Nina Black? Recently, I’ve heard a lot of things about the two of you. I was told that she had a disastrous blow dealt to her career. Is that really the case?”
Thea was sipping her tea while giving a hesitant shake of her head and stating, “I’m not sure about that.”
Mia continued, “When you were working, those folks online used to accuse you of being arrogant and unprofessional. But Nina’s antics started after you clarified those points of contention. This time around, she’s in a fairly bad state. It’s highly unlikely that she’ll be cast in any interesting parts in the foreseeable future. People are deciding not to purchase any of her works or products. You should know that for a star, audience recognition is the most important thing in the world. Nina no longer has a career that is worth mentioning at this point. I didn’t try to give the impression that I was suspicious, but the two events took place in that order. Is it true that she was the one who spread all of the negative rumors about you in the past, Thea? Then Cody just got even with her and caused her to fall?”
Thea made a frowning face and then put her chopsticks down before saying, “I don’t know. Why on earth would she choose to treat me like this? ”
Thea then recalled what Maria had shared with her a few days before while the two were at work together.
Could this really be Cody’s deed?
Mia gave Thea a grin and said, “I don’t know, Thea. Cody will be returning from the restroom, so we can ask him when he gets back.”
Mia voiced her concerns once more once Cody had returned.
Cody gave a satisfied nod and smiled before continuing, “Well… Nina Black can’t blame it on anyone. She is well deserving of the outcome that she gets in the end. That other woman has never stopped feeling envious of Thea’s wealth. However, because she lacks the resources necessary to steal them from Thea, she begins to purchase bots and accounts on the internet in order to ruin Thea’s reputation. And that was merely the consequence of her bad actions coming back to bite her. It is inappropriate for anyone to feel sorry for her.”
Mia’s expression conveyed that she was quite pleased, and she said, “Cody, truly, you are so incredibly brilliant. Whoever you choose to marry will have the luckiest and most fulfilled life of any woman in the entire universe.”
Thea’s cheeks reddened almost immediately.
What was Mia’s purpose for coming here today anyway? Visiting her older sister? Thea didn’t find it believable.
“However, this Nina…. She still not having skin that is thick enough. I mean….. Check out, Paris Dunn. That woman got her sex tape leaked. But she still comes out to take roles as if nothing had ever happened,” Mia shook her head as she enjoyed her food, “However if you can find someone from this circle that could support you and stick with you, you will be the luckiest person in the whole world.”
Thea frowned, “Mia, what are you trying to say exactly?”
Mia blinked, “Nope… I’m not trying to say anything. Just a thought. By the way, I haven’t even asked this yet. But do you still have a crush on Dylan?”
Thea cast a quick glance at Cody. Cody’s face fell horribly, just as she expected.
So she hurried to say, “No… Not really. Dylan and I are just friends right now.” Mia put on a skeptical look, “Oh, really?”
Thea instantly nodded, “Really.”
“Then why did you agree to cast in Heavenfall with him? Candace wrote that script, right? I heard the investment is a big deal.”
Cody didn’t even know that Candace’s script had chosen its casts.
“They have made sure of that?”
Thea cleared her throat, “Ye-yeah… They made sure of it about a couple of months ago. Candace chose the cast. Dylan and I both have time by then. So…”
Cody hummed, not saying anything else.
Thea was so scared.
Mia observed the look on Cody’s face, feeling bad for her older brother.
Thea didn’t even tell him about this until now. Mia wanted to help these two, but this was the best she could do.
After the meal, the three people went back to their places.
Mia drove back. Yet Cody and Thea decided to take a night walk since this place was not that far from their place.
