Thea had arrived at the location, and all of the other members of the crew were hard at work setting up the scene.
Zara sucked her into yet another historical drama by signing her up for it. And she had to do a large number of battle scenes.
Thea had been bound in wires for approximately a few hours, and she was feeling quite exhausted.
After ensuring that everything was in place for the cameras, she was raised into the air once more.
Everyone was prepared and anxious as they waited in silence for the director to give the signal, “Action!”
A call came in just as the director was about to start the scene, which was a bit of a delay.
“You are listening to the FBI. We have reason to believe that a deadly killer is currently hiding out in your team. Request that the shooting stop immediately and wait for the police to arrive at the scene.”
The director didn’t believe it at first. However, the technician of the crew suddenly came over, telling the director that they had just found a couple of problems with the wires. The director instantly followed the call.
It found out that if Thea had made even the slightest movement, she would have been brought crashing to the ground by the wires. He went and checked them out. The director was experiencing such intense anxiety that he was drenched in sweat from head to toe.
Thea experienced a great deal of confusion as those people attempted to take her down. She was in the mindset of wrapping up the sequence when her assistant abruptly informed her that the shooting had been stopped.
Daisy assisted her in untangling the wires while muttering something to the effect of “This is so strange. This director has a very tight schedule, and he hardly ever gives anyone time off to relax or take a break. However, he just recently made the decision to put a halt to the shooting for the entire morning. I’m sorry, but I just don’t get it.”
Thea carried the heavy custom she was wearing and smiled, “The technician said there were some problems with the equipment, didn’t he? It’s just some tiny mistakes. It won’t even take that long to fix. Now, would you please get me some water? I’m a bit thirsty.”
Daisy shrugged and went to get Thea some water. Thea thus grabbed a chair and started to read her script.
“Sweetie, you must be thirsty. Here, have some tea,” A person suddenly handed Thea a cup of black tea.
Thea looked up and noticed that the middle-aged woman standing before her looked quite familiar. She must be one of the crew members.
Thea smiled and took the cup of tea, “Thank you.”
She put the cup on the table beside her chair, yet she didn’t drink it directly.
Thea knew she had a lot of enemies. And she would never eat or drink anything from anyone she didn’t know.
“Why did you just put it on the table? Do you think that I will poison you?” The woman laughed.
Thea put down the script and looked up. “No… I just don’t feel thirsty anymore. Have we met each other before, Ma’am?”
Cindy dropped her gaze, and she suddenly became a bit nervous, “Of course… I’m working for the crew. We’ve got to see each other from time to time.”
Thea shook her head, “No… I mean, have we seen each other before this crew? You look quite familiar to me. I can’t explain this, but I can’t help feeling that we saw each other before.”
“Probably,” Cindy shrugged. “Maybe we have. Actually… Thea, I have to go now. I’m just here to say goodbye.”
“Huh?” Thea arched an eyebrow, feeling weird, “Wait… Where are you going?”
Cindy said as she looked the girl in the eyes, “I don’t know, actually. But we probably won’t be seeing each other for a while. You take care.”
Thea weirdly felt something off with the woman. This woman just jumped out of nowhere and told her that she was here to say goodbye, being all vague and mysterious.
She didn’t know why but she just felt the need to figure out the truth.
Soon when that woman spun around and ran out of the site. Thea shot up from her chair and followed her.
The more she thought back on the whole thing, the more suspicious that woman became.
Did she have anything to do with John? Small voices rang in Thea’s ears.
Thea heard someone calling her name behind her back, but she just kept running.
That woman was pretty fast, and Thea could tell that she was scared.
What was she so scared of?
Should she call Cody now and tell him that she just found someone suspicious?
But Thea didn’t have the time to take out her phone. If she looked away, she would lose sight of that woman.
They passed a construction site. They were building a scene for movie shooting.
When Thea walked down the narrow route, she suddenly heard someone screaming above her head.
And then, a plank suddenly fell down.
“Demi!” Drew screamed as he dashed out. But he was not as fast as Linford.
When the board was about to fall off, Linford made a leap forward and buried Thea beneath his body. They were both able to roll away from the board before it could reach them.
Thea screamed as she fell off the curb and smacked her head on the edge of it. The moment she was injured, her face was immediately covered in blood.
“Demi! Demi!” Linford eagerly called her name repeatedly.
Drew came over and checked out on his daughter. To Thea’s good fortune, the cut on her forehead was not particularly deep. It shouldn’t provide any difficulties at all.
“Dad….” Thea spoke in a feeble whisper, “I… I saw that woman… She… She escaped from there.” Drew rushed up to her and grabbed her up, carrying her in his arms as he said, “It’s okay, darling. This is in the bag. We will have her in our grasp.”
