John showed no sign of waking up. It had only been one month, and Fiona had already gotten all their money and property counted. She decided to leave the city with her baby. She was planning to dump her vegetative husband.
There was no indication that John was going to wake up. Fiona had already tallied all of their money and possessions despite the fact that it had only been a month since they had moved. She made the decision to take her kid and leave the city. She had every intention of leaving her spouse, who was vegetative.
“John’s good friend Larry James was driving the car that hit him. His company is not quite as successful as John’s, and they came dangerously close to filing for bankruptcy a few months ago. Nonetheless, following the event, his business was miraculously exonerated of all of its financial obligations.” The officer informed Cody about the most recent developments in the investigation into John’s accident.
“We went to investigate the whole thing, and we found out that the route of the money is quite suspicious,” The officer stated regarding the investigation’s status.
Cody was fidgeting and wondering, “What else do you guys get after this investigation?” as he paced back and forth.
“After conducting additional research, we discovered that the connection between these two guys was that their spouses had both previously been members of the same club.”
Cody was handed a packet by the police officer, which read, “Fiona and Larry’s wife, Scarlett, both formerly belonged to this club for rich housewives. I believe that they get together rather frequently for afternoon tea or to talk about something that is relevant to their luxurious way of life.”
“Is this the photo of the club members?” Cody reached through the folder, pulled out a picture, and squinted his gaze at it.
“Indeed,” the officer validated the statement.
Cody’s eyebrows were raised as he asked, “Is there any problem with the club members?”
An enigmatic grin appeared on the officer’s face as he stated, “None of them have any problem with each other. On the other hand, the guy who founded the club raises a lot of red flags.”
“Really?” Cody’s attention was drawn to the woman seated in the middle of the group. The smile that she wore made him feel both incredibly uncomfortable and familiar all at the same time.
Did he see this woman before?
“What could possibly make her suspicious?” Cody continued with another inquiry after that.
“We made an effort to study her, but our efforts were fruitless. We were only aware that she held a teaching position at a nearby institution. When was the first time you saw this woman?” The officer inquired with a sense of wonder.
Cody’s question came out of nowhere, “Which college is she teaching in?”
Cody listened intently as the officer provided a name and then jotted it down.
He made the decision to investigate it on his own.
To their good fortune, that university was not even a long way from the nearest police station. The officer made the decision to drive Cody there himself. They weren’t even aware of the woman’s first name at that point. The only piece of information they had was that her surname was Malcolm.
Because of the presence of the police, it didn’t take Cody all that much time to locate the college’s principal.
“You guys are interested in meeting with Professor Malcolm, right?” the principal questioned. “Well, she worked in our college for almost 20 years. She has always been such a dedicated worker throughout her life. Her husband went away a few years ago, and she is left with only one son. She has no other living children. Now her son is getting his master’s degree in France; therefore, he has moved there. It’s a little strange, to say the least. If Cindy had stayed employed at the institution for the next five years, she would have had enough money saved up to retire shortly. I have no idea what prompted her to make such a rash decision to put in her resignation. It was completely incomprehensible to me.” The principal mused.
“Cindy? You just said?” Cody let out a short, piercing sigh.
This name, at long last, brought back all of his previous recollections. Correct… Back when Candace was a young child, Cindy Malcolm served as her instructor for dancing classes. Nevertheless, her nasty twin sister Giselle had taken her place throughout the class, and she tormented Candace after the latter had been paid.
Cody heard that woman used to try to date his Uncle Drew, but she failed.
Cody turned around and left the office, instantly calling his dad, “Dad, send our men to Thea right now! Hurry up! Or it will be too late!”
Linford was quite calm, “What happened? Make things clear to me first.”
Cody said, “I’ve found the person who has been trying to hurt Thea. It’s Cindy Malcolm. That woman used to be Candace’s dance teacher. I can be sure it is her. I’ve seen her face. Now that all her plans have been discovered, she must be up to doing some real damage. You need to send our men to protect Thea immediately! She’s still on the shooting site. I’m on my way back as well.”
“Of course,” Linford said shortly, “I will keep her safe. Have a safe journey back home.”
And then, Linford just hung up the phone.
The police officer was hearing their conversation the whole time, he was so confused, “What? What’s going on, Cody? Did you find anything?”
Cody glanced at the officer, “This Malcolm is an old enemy of our house. She knows us, and she’s determined to get back at us. I don’t have time to explain everything to you in detail. We need to head back to the city and capture her before she can do more damage.”
“Of course!” The officer was still a bit confused. But he arranged his men immediately. Cody called Matt, and Matt instantly arranged for him his private jet.
