Chapter 500: John Gordon’s Anger

Book:TEMPTING The Mysterious CEO Published:2024-5-31

Thea, Grace, and the Weston couple went to Mr. Weston’s house. Cody drove the car. Grace was pretty weak, and she was still quite startled. The Weston had heavier guards compared with their apartment. To make Grace feel safer, they decided to live in Grandpa Weston’s house for a while.
On their way back, Thea received a call from John Gordon.
She slid the button and turned up the speaker.
“Thea! You promised no funny business. Where’s my money?! If you don’t make the transaction soon, I swear my men will smash your Mom’s store tomorrow morning!”
Thea could be sure that this idiot did not send the kidnappers. That person somehow was rich enough to spend money to hire two men to commit a crime.
John and his broken ass wouldn’t be able to hire people for this.
“I just got 10 million from shooting a movie, clown. Guess what? You’re not getting a penny from it. Call me again, and I will make sure I will find a way to send you to jail. Come over if you dare to say those filthy words to my face, you piece of shit!” Thea snapped before hanging up the phone.
Grace started to feel nervous, “Who… Who wants to do this to me exactly? I thought it was John… He was the only one who had the motivation. I don’t remember offending anyone before. What are we gonna do?”
Thea tried to calm the poor woman down, “It’s okay. We’re back now, and no one will be able to hurt you again. We will find the one who tried to hurt you. I promise. Just leave everything to me.”
“I’m not worried about myself, sweetie,” Grace looked like she was about to cry, “I’m worried about you. Someone’s gonna hurt you. I don’t want you to get hurt, baby. Could you stop the shooting for a couple of days? Let’s just stay at home so no one will be able to touch you.”
Granny also seemed so nervous, “Thea, your Mom is right. We don’t want you to get hurt. Just take a break with us. Don’t go out until we find the bad guy, okay?”
Thea could only smile, “I’ll be fine. If those people are really coming for me, I’ll just take a break and think about who I offended before during my work. Besides, Cody’s still with me. No one can hurt me when he’s around. Just think about it. Those people hated me, but they chose to find you guys. That just proved that it’s hard for them to touch. It must be because of Cody. With Cody around, they won’t dare to lay a finger on me.”
A faint smile appeared on Cody’s face after hearing what Thea said. He turned to look at Grace and her mother politely, “Grace, Granny, you guys, just rest assured. I won’t let anyone touch the finger of Thea as long as I’m still around. She’s safe with me.”
Mr. Weston thudded his walking stick against the floor, “And me. I’m still here. No one will be able to touch Thea.”
The Weston family had connections in the army and special forces. Mr. Weston wouldn’t allow anyone to touch his dear great-granddaughter.
Thea was moved. She turned to look at the old man, “See? Great-grandpa’s gonna protect me as well. I will be fine.”
Grace and Granny exchanged a look, finally feeling a bit safe.

John really showed up before Grace’s bakery the next day. He was bringing a bunch of punks and was ready to smash the bakery.
However, Grace didn’t even show up today.
That bitch! Was she treating him like a dog?
John took out his phone and started to call Grace. He called her so many times, but she never picked up.
John got even more furious. He wanted to search Thea’s place and drag them out. However, a group of cops suddenly jumped out of nowhere and arrested them.
John was still so confused when he was pressed against the concrete, “Fuck! Let me go! Get away from me! How dare you!?”
“Don’t move! We’re Police officers!” The officer who pressed John down showed him his ID, “Move again. I’ll put a bullet in your fucking head!”
John stopped struggling instantly. He felt his sweat dripping down his forehead.
How dare that bitch call the police?! He would make her pay for this! He swore in silence.
He would beat the shit out of her. John Gordon’s businesses were failing one after another. He had made up his mind to be a bloodsucker and drain every penny out of Thea Todd.
He had raised her. He surely deserved to get her money.
When John was brought to the interrogation room, he finally grew a little bit nervous, “Why are you capturing me? Why?!”
“I saw you bringing a lot of men. What were you planning to do?” The officer asked with a cold smile on his face.
John lied, “I was hanging out with my bros, and I never did anything illegal. So you have no right to bring me here!”
The officer’s voice was cold, “You tried to threaten Thea Todd, remember? What did you say on the phone? Do you mind saying that again?”
“I just said those things, but I never planned to do anything! What are you gonna do? Throw me in jail for that?” John argued.
The police officer played a recording for John from his phone in which he said, “You threatened to kill her. If you continue to treat me with such an attitude, we still have the option of taking this matter to court. Allow the judge to determine whether or not he will sentence you to jail for your actions.”
That snitch actually contacted the authorities! John cursed silently.
John gritted his teeth and asked, “Where is that ungrateful person? It is imperative that I see her.
He was going to make her pay for it!
“Are you going to continue to make Miss Todd feel threatened?” The cop narrowed his eyes and said with a grimace, “Miss Todd’s mother was taken captive a few days ago. Have you thought of that as well?”
