Amy witnessed the whole scene. She felt extremely helpless and sad.
Why?
She and Cody grew up together, and he always knew her feelings for him. How could he choose a random showgirl over her? She was from a wealthy family, and she was no less pretty than Thea Todd.
Why wouldn’t Cody choose her? Amy stood in the corner and started to cry.
“Amy? Are you alright? What happened?” Mia happened to walk past. She saw her best friend was in tears, so she walked forth to comfort her.
Amy wiped her face with the back of her hand, “I’m okay… Really…. I just…”
Mia frowned, “No, Amy, you’re not okay. It is all because of Thea Todd, right?”
Amy sniffed, “You can tell?”
Mia said, “Of course. You and Cody are meant to be together. But Thea Todd just jumped out of nowhere and decided to snatch him away. That bitch stole away your fiance. How could you be fine? God! I hate her so much. How could she just steal people’s things like that? And she even made Great Grandpa sick.”
Amy was crying even more sadly. Mia pulled her into a hug, “It’s okay, Amy. Stop crying. I swear that I will make her pay for this.”
Amy grabbed her sleeve, “Don’t! I don’t want people to think that I’m a bad person.”
“Fine.” Mia sighed, “You’re too sweet, Amy. Just stop crying, okay? Let’s go back.”
Amy nodded with tears in her eyes.
“I wondered what her granny told my great grandpa though.” Mia was still so pissed off, “She must be an old witch… Grandpa was healthy a minute ago… I hate her family so much. They ruined our dinner. I’m telling you, Amy. My Mom and Dad won’t let them go that easily after what they did.”
Amy felt a bit better after hearing what Mia said.
She cleared her throat, “I think Mrs. Todd actually told Mr. Weston that Thea was pretty growing up. To prove that she showed Mr. Weston some pictures.”
“What?!” Mia was pissed off right now.
When they went to the ward, everyone was waiting there. Mia looked so angry as she fixed her gaze on Thea. She looked like she had the heart to kill her.
Two hours passed, and Mr. Weston was finally pushed out of the OR.
The doctor smiled at the roomful of people, “Mr. Weston is completely safe now. So you guys don’t need to worry anymore. He’s the toughest patient I’ve ever seen. Normal patients would take days to wake up.”
Everyone let out a long breath. They felt relieved that the old had surpassed this fatal heart attack.
“Mr. Weston said that his seizure had nothing to do with Thea and her family. He said you guys mustn’t blame her. Although he is still recovering, I assumed you must make him sad again.” the doctor added, “Oh, by the way. Mr. Weston only wanted to talk to his grandson now. He wanted you guys to leave the ward first.”
Mia and Logan still wanted to stay and check out their great-grandpa. But it was their Grandpa’s demand. So they left the room with their Mom.
“What do you want to tell me, Grandpa?” Drew asked as he sat by the bed.
Mr. Weston opened his eyes and looked at his grandson weakly. After a while, he finally opened his mouth, “Demi… is still alive.”
“What?!” Drew couldn’t believe what he was hearing right now, “Are… Are you serious, Grandpa? You’re not kidding me right now, are you?”
“Demi… is very alive.” Mr. Weston breathed hard, looking into Drew’s eyes. “Thea.., is Demi… Her granny showed her pictures when she… when she was a toddler… I… I can be sure… She’s Demi. She is our precious Demi.”
The old man’s words were interrupted by a violent fit of coughs. Drew was still in shock as he went forward to pat his Grandpa’s back.
It had been so many years… Yet, Drew had never stopped looking for his lost daughter. Both he and Fritzi were longing for their child.
He was determined to have his baby girl back again, and he also promised his wife to look after Demi, even if it took forever.
And now, Grandpa was telling him that Thea Todd was his daughter.
“Drew…” Mr. Weston still looked pale, “I’m too old to investigate the whole thing… You need to try your best… to investigate the girl… And find out who she really is… You must do this!”
“Of course, Grandpa.” Drew promised with tears in his eyes, “I will definitely do this. Don’t worry.”
Grandpa nodded and shut his eyes again.
Drew said, “But Grandpa, you also need to get better for Demi’s sake. It will break her heart if she gets to see you like this.”
Pop nodded, “Don’t worry… I won’t die until we get Demi back… I’ve been trying my best to keep myself alive for my lovely Demi.”
Drew sighed and placed a blanket on his Grandpa before leaving the ward.
When he walked out of the room, Mia walked forth, asking worriedly, “Dad… How is great-grandpa?”
Drew nodded, “He’s fine.”
Drew couldn’t keep his eyes away from Thea after hearing what Grandpa said in the ward.
What if she was really his daughter?
How could he even explain everything to everyone?
Drew looked at Thea because he felt both surprised and regretful. However, the way he looked at Thea meant a totally different thing in Mia’s eyes.
She was jealous of how pretty Thea was initially. The way her Dad looked at Thea also suggested that it was Thea’s fault that Great Grandpa ended up like that.
Thea Todd stole her best friend’s crush as well.
Mia couldn’t contain her rage anymore as she thought about those things. So she walked forth and raised her hand.
“Thea Todd! It’s all your fault!”
Slap!
Mia slapped Thea across her face without any warning.
Thea got slapped in front of everyone. Her eyes went red instantly but she managed to not let her tears fall off.
No… Thea, she told herself, you mustn’t cry!
