“Amy… Are you okay?” Cristelle stood up from her seat, looking concerned. Zoey also went up to check out the girl.
Amy tried to hide the sadness in her voice, “I… I’m fine… I just… My hand slipped. I’m so sorry.”
“Please don’t say sorry, sweetie,” Cristelle said. Zoey went up to help Amy clean up the mess. Amy’s eyes darted toward Cody. She knew she should control herself a bit, but she couldn’t.
Cody didn’t notice that. Thea, however, saw the way Amy looked at Cody very clearly. She was also a woman, and she knew how it felt. Thea couldn’t explain why, but she budged on her seat and tried to keep her distance from Cody.
Candace was the outgoing one. She was completely unaware of what was happening over the table.
She poured Amy some wine and laughed, “You’re getting increasingly clumsy lately, Amy. I thought I was the clumsy one between us.”
“Yeah.” Amy forced out a smile, “I surely am.”

Granny went to chat with Pop and Mr. Weston after the meal. Pop and Mr. Weston were very old now. Pop spent most of his hours in the hospital. Now, he couldn’t even speak properly.
Granny felt bad for the old man. She was naturally a chatty person, and she would love to cheer the old man up a bit when she was still around.
So she went to their room and started to talk about everything.
Granny especially loved to talk about her granddaughter. For her, Thea was such a treasure. And she was so proud whenever she mentioned the girl.
“Has been quite a character when she was little. She loved to dance and sing all the time. Even though she really didn’t know how to dance,” Granny laughed, “You guys should have seen Thea when she was little. Right… I have her pictures from when she was just a toddler.”
Pop was smiling the whole time. He liked the girl quite much. She always acted polite and proper, and she had a pretty face. She and Cody looked good when they stood together. And this old lady also seemed friendly and full of energy. No wonder they could raise such a lovely daughter.
“Look, this is Thea when she was 14. She used to be a bit chubby,” Granny introduced as she slid the photos one by one.
Mr. Weston was not interested, but he still leaned forward to see just for politeness. The order of the photos was from Thea’s teenage years back to when she was a toddler.
The longer Mr. Weston stared at those photos, the grimmer his face looked.
The old man went pale when he saw the last photo. In that photo, a chubby little girl was sprawled on a mattress and fast asleep.
“She was so cute back then, wasn’t she?” Granny laughed.
Mr. Weston suddenly took her phone away from her. Granny was surprised, but she didn’t say anything.
“Are there more of these photos?” Mr. Weston breathed, “Do you have more?”
“No.” Granny blinked, not realizing what was happening right now, “Pitifully… That’s all we have. She doesn’t have photos of a younger age, Mr. Weston? Mr. Weston! Are you okay?”
Mr. Weston suddenly had a seizure. The old man fell to the carpet, and his whole body was twitching nonstop.
Granny went pale, screaming. “Somebody help! Help!”
When Thea ran into the room, Granny looked like she was gonna faint as well, “Thea!”
“Grandpa Grandpa?! Are you alright?” Logan was the first to charge forward and hold Mr. Weston in his arms. Mr. Weston’s eyes never left Thea since she ran into the room.
“She… She is…” the old man breathed. And then, he passed out.
Linford got the car ready immediately. They sent Mr. Weston to the hospital immediately.
“What exactly happened, Granny?” Linford asked Granny outside of the OR.
“I… I don’t know. I was talking to him, and he just had a seizure and passed out. He was so happy a couple of minutes ago.” Granny stuttered.
Linford nodded. Mr. Weston was getting old. It was normal for old people to have a heart attack or seizure suddenly. Both Drew and Fritzi looked so anxious as they paced back and forth in the corridor. They could only pray that their grandpa would be fine.
Granny also looked like she was in shock. Thea tried to make the poor old lady calm down.
Fritzi looked at Thea from a distance. The way the girl clenched her teeth and frowned looked way too much like Demi when she got anxious.
Whenever Fritzi saw the similarities between the girls, she felt her heart broken into pieces. She always thought Thea looked like Demi to the extent that she didn’t dare to watch any shows or movies with Thea in them.
She didn’t want to recall the horrible accident.
***
Cody was standing next to Fritzi. Fritzi turned to the young man and smiled, “Thea looks quite sad. She must blame herself for Grandpa’s situation even if it was not her granny’s fault. Just try to comfort them and make the poor girl and her granny feel better, okay?”
Cody nodded.
With that, Fritzi just walked away. She couldn’t bear to stay at this place any longer.
Thea called Daisy to drive Mom and Granny back. They needed to go back, take some rest, and calm down.
When she was alone, Cody walked over, “You alright?”
Thea nodded, still looking worried.
“Come on,” Cody mussed her long hair, “Relax. It’s not your or your granny’s fault.”
Thea somehow became super aware of the look Amy was giving her. She pushed Cody’s hand away, “Come on, Cody. Don’t do this. People will have the wrong idea.”
Cody faltered, “What do you mean?”
“Amy.” Thea swallowed, “She’s a nice girl..”
Cody frowned, “I know it very well. We grew up together. And she’s like a sister. I thought I’d explained this.”
“She’s obsessed with you. And your families are also quite close.” Thea swallowed, “I…. I am just your actor. I think our current situation is perfect. I bet you also don’t want to impede our job. You want me to earn money for the company, right? I mean… It won’t be good for my development.” Thea didn’t even dare to look Cody in his eyes as she said those things. Her head was a mess. She didn’t even know if she had conveyed her meaning clearly.
But she knew she couldn’t bear to spend one more minute with Cody anymore. So she just walked away.
Cody was left alone in the middle of the corridor with a murderous look on his face. So, this woman pushed him away because she thought he would impede her future development?
What the heck was that?!
