Thea couldn’t explain why, but that singer just made her uncomfortable with how he looked at her.
She thought maybe it was because of his reputation for treating women like objects. This place felt too dangerous for her. Thea turned to Jessica, asking if she wanted to leave with her. Jessica, however, seemed to have her mind on Miss Bacon still. She probably wanted to make friends with Miss Bacon. In this business world where they work, having some powerful friends would never be a bad choice.
Jessica said she didn’t want to go back. Thea sighed and could only leave by herself.
However, Chris followed up when he realized that Thea was going to leave. Thea was a bit startled as he stopped the elevator and walked in.
“Thea, do you want me to send you back?” Chris asked, panting.
“No… no… You don’t have to. I thought you were there to keep Jessica safe.” Thea said. Brandon seemed a bit shady when she thought of that guy.
“Jessica got Kevin with her. Let me drive you back.”
“No… It’s okay, Daisy’s gonna be here to pick me up. Just go back. They might get upset if you leave too.”
Chris seemed a bit disappointed. But he still went back to the suite. When Thea went downstairs, Daisy was waiting for her in the lobby.
Daisy noticed the look on Thea’s face, “What’s wrong, Thea? You look pale… What happened?”
Thea told Daisy about Chris. Chris was a nice co-worker. But his insisting on sending her back gave her chills.
Daisy rolled her eyes, “That guy probably wants to let the paparazzi catch you both on cameras. So he would get some exposure. Such a disgraceful act won’t do good.”
“But that is not some nice exposure.” Thea frowned.
“He needs fame. Good or bad, he just needs attention. You must know the rules of this showbiz industry. Regardless of the kind of gossip for a certain actor, it is still counted as exposure.” Daisy shook her head.
Thea got silent as she realized that Daisy’s words were right.
When they finally got back to Thea’s apartment, Daisy suddenly went pale, “Shit…. I think I lost my phone in the lobby. There are a lot of important things on my phone. If other people find out, we will be doomed.”
Thea also understood how important Daisy’s phone was. She asked Daisy to go back and look for her phone immediately.
Daisy drove back to the club. However, as she tried to search for her phone in the lobby, she witnessed a fight there. Those stars and big figures probably didn’t know her. But she knew them.
Lia Bacon, the daughter of the president of the Southwest channel, was slapping a man in the lobby.
That man… Daisy recognized, was a famous pop singer called Brandon.
Daisy asked the waitress and knew the whole story.
****
When Daisy went back to Thea’s apartment, Thea was still lying on her couch and reading her script. It was already 1 am. But Daisy couldn’t suppress the excitement she felt.
“What happened, Daisy? You came back so late.” Thea frowned as she tried to prop herself up against the couch.
“Thea! Something just happened.” Daisy said as she took a seat at the end of the couch, “Check this out.”
Saying that the girl handed Thea her phone. Thea was surprised to see Miss Bacon slapping Brandon in the middle of the lobby with multiple on-lookers watching. Brandon didn’t even dare to stop her. He just apologized again and again.
It turned out Brandon tried to put his filthy hands on Lia’s body when she got drunk. He almost raped her in the bathroom of the suite.
Kevin was the one who stopped him from doing anything stupid to the girl. Kevin kicked the door open and saved Lia.
Brandon even got a bruised eye from it. “I’m sorry… Lia… I really didn’t mean to. I was just so drunk.”
“Did you try to fuck me when I was drunk, Brandon? You do know my dad has the power to kick your ass out of this business, and you will never be able to sing again, don’t you?”
“Lia… I’m so sorry…”
SLAP!
Thea almost loosened her grip on the phone, causing it to almost fall from her hands as she watched the video when Lia slapped the guy viciously in front of everyone.
She let out a breath, “Luckily, we got out of that place earlier. I surely don’t want to get involved in something like this. No one found you in the lobby, right?”
“Nope. I’m just a nobody. No one really noticed me,” Daisy shrugged.
Thea was relieved, “That’s great. If I were you, I would delete this video. Just in case someone will know you got it recorded, and those people will give us trouble one day.”
Daisy smiled and patted her shoulder, “Okay. I will delete it if you think it will bring us any trouble.”
Daisy said she would delete it, but she actually sent a copy to Zara. Just in case something bad comes to them, this clip would be useful in the future.
However, Daisy doesn’t expect Zara to tell Cody about what happened.
Cody almost exploded after hearing the whole thing.
He had warned Thea about things like this, but she would still go out with those people to a club in the middle of the night.
His hands were balled into a fist, and he called Matt immediately, but the guy didn’t even dare to say anything.
“Matt, go get Thea here. I need to talk to her, RIGHT NOW!”
That woman was getting bolder and bolder. He tried to give her as much freedom as he could. Yet she didn’t cherish it at all.
How could she go to a club with Brandon? That man had the foulest reputation in showbiz.
When could Thea genuinely listen to his words?
Thea and Daisy were about to leave the apartment at the moment. However, before they could manage to leave, Matt suddenly showed up and stopped them. “Miss Todd, Mr. Bradley demands to see you.” Matt was polite.
Yet Thea could sense something bad would happen, “But I need to ask the director for a short leave first. I still have some shootings to do today.”
Matt smiled, “I’ve asked leave for you, Miss Todd. Just come with me.”
Uh-oh… Things must be quite serious. She thought to herself.
Thea had no choice but to follow this man to his car.
“Did you tell Cody about what happened last night?” Thea asked her assistant with a hushed voice in the car.
“No!” Daisy shook her head, “I only told Zara… I mean… She’s your agent. She’s got to know everything, right?”
