Cody’s eyes grew colder after hearing what Thea said.
So it was because of a man again?
“I see.” Candace blinked, “No wonder Paris looks like she wanted to claw your eyes out whenever she saw you. But we can’t accuse anyone yet. We don’t even have any evidence.”
“Accusation’ is just one way of getting closure, Candace,” Cody suddenly stood up from his seat. The way he uttered “closure” made the girls shudder in fear.
“I will take care of the rest. You guys just mind the shooting,” Cody promised as he grabbed his coat.
The way he was talking right now was pretty scary.
As much as Thea hated Paris, she suddenly started to worry about what would happen to that girl next.
So Thea cleared her throat, “Cody, be careful. I don’t want you to break any laws.”
Cody smiled as he leaned in, ruffling Thea’s hair a bit, “I got this. You just get some rest and take care of yourself when I’m away.”
Candace rolled her eyes.
Daisy showed Thea her phone after Cody walked out of the room. Thea noticed that a statement had been made by the crew on Twitter.
The statement introduced the whole incident, promising that they would officially apologize to Thea and Kevin and find the cause of the incident.
Thea nodded.
Both Kevin and herself had a large base of fans. It was normal for their fans to question the crew for the incident.
However, those anti-fans also used the chance to stir up shit statements as well.
Thea was thinking about posting a statement as well. However, Zara, who had complete control of her social media accounts, had already posted a statement under her name.
“I’m very well now. Thanks for being so sweet and caring, guys. I also want to take this opportunity to thank Kevin as well. If it were not for him, things would have turned out to be worse. I trust my lovely crew members, I believe no one wants anything like this to happen. As a loving and hard-working crew, we will face this accident together.” She mentioned Kevin in that post.
The statement was quite appropriate under a circumstance like this. She thanked Kevin. And she also reminded the fans to stop attacking the crew account.
A couple of minutes later, Kevin also made an announcement. The content was pretty similar to Thea’s. However, he used the chance to market the series, saying that he and Thea were friends who went through life and death together a few days ago.
Life and death? Thea frowned at the term.
“Things are getting better on the internet now,” Candace said, “Zara reacted so fast! What were we going to do without her? I bet she will come here tomorrow.”
Thea just smiled.
Now she and Kevin couldn’t see each other. But after things subsided a bit, she would definitely go see him and thank him for what he did that day.
Meanwhile, in Kevin’s ward, his agent was pathing up and down in the room, “We should take the chance and hype up the heat up as the screen couple. But it will take you at least ten days before you can walk normally. There are a lot of fighting scenes in the next scenes. I guess we can only use stunts.”
Kevin hated using stunts. But there was nothing he could do about it for now.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Kevin looked at his leg, frowning.
The agent noticed the look on his face and stopped pacing. “You’re not having any crush on Thea Todd, are you? You can like her during the shooting. You can even sleep with her during this time. But you need to stay away from that girl after the shooting is over. Your career is soaring. Getting married or dating would ruin your fanbase. Remember what we went through for today’s accomplishment.”
Kevin smiled, “I know. I’m not having any crush on her. I just enjoy acting with her. She could bring me in easily. It’s so different from when I act with other actresses. I had to force my feelings. But with her, it’s just so natural.”
The agent got Kevin’s meaning instantly. He couldn’t blame Kevin. Thea Todd was a great actor. And she was also young and promising.
However…
“Compared with rumors, I’m more worried that the person who is determined to bring her down would hurt you accidentally,” The agent frowned.
Kevin sat straighter, “Someone’s determined to bring her down? What does that even mean?”
“The biggest investor of this series is Zack MacConnell’s friend. That friend wanted Zack and his girlfriend, Nina Black, to be both in this show. But then, during the audition, Ryan suddenly decided Thea should be his female lead. That pissed Zack off big time. He decided to quit the show now that his girlfriend was declined. Nina Black didn’t stop giving the poor girl a hard time. That’s why Thea went through so many accidents. Zack even went to badmouth about Thea’s acting in front of his friend. His friend only stopped asking the director to change Thea after seeing a couple of clips Ryan sent him. Now that Thea is injured and lying in bed, I bet Nina would come back to try to snatch away her role again. And she would stand a bigger chance this time. So… you really should stay away from Thea Todd. I know she’s good, but she doesn’t have a powerful background as Nina did.”
Kevin felt a shiver down his spine, “You can’t be serious. How could those people be so disgusting?”
The agent sighed, “This is showbiz, kid. Your heroic move will probably win you some applause online, but that would offend Nina and her boyfriend. You tried so hard to get this role… It would be best if you didn’t let this chance slip away. So, just be smarter and steer clear from that girl when you notice things turn, alright?”
Kevin hesitated for a second and nodded heavily.
