The Father and the son went upstairs hand in hand. Candace was still playing with Selena. She looked so happy and carefree. Both Linford and Cody preferred her to be staying that way.
“Did you guys have a conversation downstairs?” Frank smiled as he saw Linford and his son.
Linford nodded, “Yep. Cody insisted on going to the hospital with you guys. He’s curious about medical operations such as DNA tests.”
Was Linford Bradley sending his son to spy on them?
Frank smiled. “Of course.”
Candace didn’t want her brother to go to the hospital. Instead, she wanted Cody to go to school with her. But Cody was determined and knew she shouldn’t stop him from doing whatever he liked.
The little girl had been pouting for the rest of the day.

The next day, Candace was sent to school while Cody followed the doctor and his assistant to the hospital. Drew drove the car.
When Frank and Claire walked into the lab, Cody and Drew just sat outside of the lab and waited.
“Why did your Dad send you as well? He’s worried that I couldn’t complete the mission?” Drew teased the boy.
The boy pulled a little face, “Dad just wants it to be more secure. You know how cautious he is.”
Drew smirked, “Trust me. No one knows Linford Bradley’s true color better than me.” And you’re getting more and more like your old man. Drew wanted to add, but he choked back his words.
Drew trusted and liked the little boy very much. He stood up from his bench and said, “I need to go to the bathroom. Mind staying here alone for a little while?”
“Yeah,” Cody waved as he bored his eyes through the glass window, “Go. I can take care of it.”
Drew thus left.
Claire looked out of the window and noticed that the boy was the only one left on the bench. She waited for a short while and walked out of the room, smiling at Cody, “Why are you the only one left here?”
Cody shrugged, “It’s no big deal for me. Have you finished the test?”
Claire liked the boy too much, smiling, “My job is done. Frank will take care of the rest. Your Dad said this is really important. So we did the test multiple times for preciseness. It will take longer than usual, but the result will be more accurate.”
“Good,” Cody nodded, “It’ll be good if the result doesn’t go wrong.”
Claire smiled, “Are you always this serious, Cody?”
Cody dropped his gaze, not wanting to talk too much, “Yeah.”
Where did he learn this? He didn’t act like Candace at all.
Did he get this facet of his personality from his Boss Dad?
“Is Linford Bradley treating you guys very well?” Claire couldn’t help asking.
“Well.” Cody tended to get annoyed when strangers asked him private things, “It has nothing to do with you, has it?”
Claire is taken aback. The boy did have some temper like his Father, that looked indignant and firm. That man must have influenced him. She just had to find Cristelle as fast as possible.
Meanwhile, Frank walked out of the room, “The result will be out soon.”
Cody nodded shortly, not having too much expression on his face.
“The result is quite important. Do you want to inform your Father?” Frank asked the boy. Cody took out his phone and dialed a number, “Dad, Doctor Watson just said the result is out. Do you wanna come over right now?”
“I trust you, Cody. You can just hear the result and tell me when you come back. I’m with your Uncle Enzo right now. We’re discussing something really important at the moment.”
“Oh, okay,” Cody hung up the phone before turning toward Frank, “Dad’s busy. He said you could just tell me. He will hear from me when I go back.”
Frank looked at the boy before him, feeling lowkey jealous. Linford was so lucky to have such a genius son.
“I guess,” The doctor shrugged.
“When will the result come out?” Cody asked again.
Frank fished out his phone and checked out the time, “Soon. Um… Selena, would you mind going in with me a bit?”
The doctor and his assistant thus left.
Drew came back at this moment, “How was it, Cody? Is the result out?”
Cody shook his head, “Not yet. But I guess it will be out soon.”
“That’s great!” Drew shrugged, “Don’t you wanna go pee?”
Cody realized his obligation was over. So he went to the bathroom as well.
Right after Cody left, Candace and Jack came into the hospital. Claire was thrilled to see the girl, “Candace? Honey? Why are you here?”
Candace smiled sweetly, “Dad didn’t pick me up from school today. Jack did. I told Jack I wanted to come here to see Cody. So he brought me over. Where’s Cody?”
Claire crouched down, smiling. “Cody’s in the bathroom. He will be back soon.”
“Oh, okay. Then I will wait for him here,” Candace sat on the bench along the wall.
“Can I wait with you?” Claire sat down beside her.
“Sure, Selena,” Candace smiled.
Jack went pale with just one glance at Selena. He grabbed Drew’s hand and marched him into a dark corner, “Who’s that woman?”
“Frank’s assistant… Why are you so nervous?”
Jack’s face fell, “TELL ME THE TRUTH!”
The smirk on Drew’s face didn’t fade away. “She is Frank’s assistant, and her name is Selena. You can go investigate her if you don’t believe me.”
“I bet her last name is Friesley then,” Jack snarled, “How could you guys get her back at this point? You want things to get even worse, don’t you?”
The oldest daughter of the Friesley family had been on the list for years, but they chose to bring this big trouble back at this moment.
How could they be so wayward? “You guys meant to bring the catastrophe, didn’t you?” Jack was so furious.
“Ouch,” Drew rubbed his ear, “Jack, stop being so dramatic. Everything will be fine.”
“Make. Her. Go. Now!” Jack was unwavering.
Drew didn’t care, “What can I do? I’m not the one who brought her back. You can ask Linford if you don’t want to see her again.”
Jack was so angry that he was slowly losing his wits. What was wrong with Linford?
