“What do you mean by saying that, Maria? Haven’t our house done enough?” Mrs. Barnett was still so annoyed about what Pamela had done, “Don’t you shift all the blame on us! It was your daughter who begged to marry my son at the beginning!”
Pamela’s tears fell down the moment she heard the painful truth.
She was so cheap in these people’s eyes. They had never cared about her. In the beginning, her mother-in-law tried to take care of her. But now, it turned out she did that because she wanted their money.
She would have been worthless if she wasn’t her father’s daughter.
Maria couldn’t bear her daughter being insulted like that. She shot up from her seat, “I guess there’s nothing left to talk about. Pamela and Diego should get divorced as soon as possible. I don’t think their marriage will benefit anyone in the long term.”
Sam only went nervous as he heard that, “Christ… Maria, it would be best if you calmed down. We’re a family. We can solve this by discussing things calmly. Just sit down!”
Diego didn’t even say anything when he heard the word “divorce.” He clearly wanted that to happen.
Mrs. Barnett believed that Pamela couldn’t live without her son. She laughed, “Okay. Just get divorced. Whoever chickens out will be the clown.”
Sam was so angry that he almost slapped his wife, “Shut up! Stop saying anything.”
Maria pulled at her daughter’s arm, “Did you see the true faces of these people, honey? They don’t give a damn. Divorce Diego instantly! Or you won’t be my daughter anymore!”
She is being serious now as she can’t bear to take what Diego’s Mom spilled out.
Mrs. Barnett laughed coldly, “It’s just divorce. You don’t need to be so dramatic, Maria.”
Pamela looked at the woman sitting across the table. Her eyes were filled with contempt and sneer. Did she also pull out a face like this when she urged her son to abandon Cristelle six years ago?
Pamela didn’t expect to experience exactly what Cristelle had gone through 6 years ago.
“Okay, Mom. I will divorce Diego,” Pamela dropped her gaze. She felt her heart had been torn into pieces.
Maria let out a long breath, “Good. That’s my girl. I’m proud of you. Let’s leave this place.” She looked at her husband, “What are you waiting for, Noah? Will you stay here until they decide to grab your scruff and throw you out?”
Noah shook his head and stood up.
Sam panicked, “Pal… What are you doing? It’s just a small conflict. They don’t need to get divorced.”
Noah took his coat from the maid’s hands, “There won’t be any conflicts if they truly care about each other. I’m sorry, Sam. I really have to go.”
And then, Pamela and her parents just left the house.
“Look what you’ve done! Stupid cow!” Sam bellowed as he turned around to face his wife, “Now they left! Are you happy now?”
“Why are you shouting?” Mrs. Barnett also realized that she had just done something stupid, but she refused to admit her fault, “Pamela can’t live without Diego. They will never get divorced.”
Diego threw his fork away, “I’m divorcing her tomorrow.”
And then, he went upstairs and slammed his door.
“No! You can’t! We still need their money,” Mrs. Barnett shouted in panic.
“Look what you’ve done!” Sam also shot up from his chair and went upstairs, leaving Mrs. Barnett alone, who panicked beside the table.

Sam and his wife went to the hotel where Pamela’s parents lived the next morning, bringing some fresh fruit and big smiles on their faces.
Mrs. Barnett was sure Pamela was just a shallow, stupid woman who couldn’t breathe without her son. But clearly, Pamela just became more determined than ever after spending one night with her parents in the hotel and listening to their opinions.
Mrs. Barnett had even begged Maria to give up the idea of getting divorced. But Maria only laughed at her.
Additionally, Diego was also exceptionally determined to end his marriage. He was sure that Pamela was a stupid woman who could only bring disasters to his business. So he divorced Pamela without any hesitation.
Even though Pamela had made up her mind, seeing her husband being that unwavering still broke her heart into pieces.
Diego acted like he couldn’t wait to get rid of her.
The news about their divorce traveled across the city that day.
Some people felt bad for Pamela. Some people said she was stupid and she deserved the ending. Some people said the Barnett was heartless.
Their marriage ended up becoming a joke in people’s mouths.

Fritzi followed Alfred to Linford’s huge mansion.
“Gosh, these rich people. Their garden is bigger than my entire house.” Fritzi got a bit sour as she entered Linford’s place.
“Fritzi, you’re talking too much,” Alfred rolled his eyes, and they both saw Candace when they stepped into the living room.
Candace had to lie in bed every day. She really wanted to go out and play again. Linford could tell how bored she was. So he asked the maid to carry his daughter downstairs. At least she could look over the garden this way.
When Candace was downstairs, Linford sent a group of cleaners to sterilize his rooms upstairs. He had wanted to do it a long time ago, but he didn’t want to stir Candace as the girl needed to take a rest there. Now that Candace had gone to the first floor. He couldn’t wait to get the job down.
Cristelle watched in awe as cleaners wearing masks and coverups walked around the mansion. Was Linford’s obsession with cleanliness so serious?
How did he even make it through so many days with them hanging around?
“Wha-what is happening? Someone set fire to the second floor?” Fritzi’s mouth dropped open as she observed the whole situation. Candace shook her head at Fritzi.
Fritzi only remembered at this moment that her boss was actually a cleanliness maniac. Someone he disliked probably just visited his room. That was why he was overreacting again.
“Look what I bought you, pretty one,” Fritzi grabbed a 3D puzzle box from her purse. It was a pink castle.
