Candace clapped, trying to take the box from Fritzi. She didn’t even want to have any snacks.
Alfred was holding two big paper bags filled with barbecue ingredients, “I’m putting them in the kitchen now. Is that okay?”
Cristelle nodded and then frowned a bit, “I thought Linford had a lot of work to do. He didn’t bring you with him?”
Alfred smiled, “Nope. Boss sent me back to take care of you and the babies.”
Linford had left quite early this morning. And he didn’t even bring Alfred with him. What business did he go to deal with without Alfred?
“Geez, Cristelle. Stop worrying about everything. Let your man be busy with his own business. Let’s just chill and have fun,” Fritzi pulled Cristelle away.
Pop also went out of his room at this moment, noticing how happy the living room was. He was happy when people were around. But he still felt a sharp ache as he noticed Candace’s bandaged leg. It must be so painful.
The old man was so mad every time he thought about what those people had done.
He would definitely make the Barnett family pay for what they did in the future.
“Pop, come over here. Come play with us,” Fritzi pulled Franco over as well. Candace shared some puzzle pieces with her great-grandpa. Pop had never seen anything so tiny and trivial, “There are so many of them. When can we finish these?”
Candace shook her head. It wouldn’t take that long to complete the puzzle.
Fritzi pulled Cristelle aside as Pop, and the little girl was busy with the puzzle pieces, “Cristelle, I’ve found out who leaked the information at the racing course.”
Cristelle was curious, “Who is it?”
Fritzi looked indignant, “It’s a man called Dean Lau. But he was not even at the racing course that day. I wonder how he found out about what happened.”
Dean Lau? Cristelle’s eyes widened.
How could it be him?
Fritzi noticed the change on Cristelle’s face, “Do you know him?”
Cristelle dropped her gaze and shook her head, “No.”
Jasper’s assistant was called Dean Lau as well. It was hard to get it wrong because she had worked with him in the studio for so many days. She had a bad premonition, but she chose to hide her thoughts from Fritzi.
“That man is such a fucking rat! Don’t let me catch him, or he will die! Ugh!” Fritzi was furious.
Cristelle forced out a smile. She couldn’t even figure out the truth right now.
To be honest, she didn’t want to take Jasper as the bad guy.
Before she could think about the whole thing, Fritzi bombed her with another big news, “Oh… By the way, Diego and Pamela just got divorced. Do you know that? They fill the news on social media. Linford is being too kind to them, really. He didn’t even let them pay for what they did to your daughter.”
Did they divorce? Cristelle arched an eyebrow. But she soon stopped thinking about the issue because she didn’t really care about it anymore.
But getting a divorce at this point was quite stupid. Without the Lim family’s support, Diego’s journey would be tough.
“Why did Linford let Pamela go, though?” Fritzi asked curiously.
Cristelle squeezed out a short smile, “I don’t really know.”
“How could you not guess the fact behind it? He loves you so much,” Fritzi suddenly raised her voice. The whole room fell silent.
Cristelle went blushed, “Geez, Fritzi! What are you talking about?”
She whipped around to go to Candace, but she bumped into a wall of muscles. She looked up and saw Linford’s handsome face.
Cristelle tried to calm down, “When did you come back?”
Linford cast a stern glance at Fritzi. Fritzi looked away instantly.
“A couple of minutes ago,” Vice casually smiled at her.
“Hello, Cristelle,” Drew also walked into the living room at this moment, “Geez! Look at our little genius. What are you doing, Candace? Is that a castle?”
Cristelle smiled at Drew. The group of people sat around on the couch, watching and helping as Candace built her pink castle.
After playing with the girl for a while, Linford mentioned it was time for lunch.
Alfred just left the kitchen at this point, announcing the food was ready.
Cristelle collected the puzzle pieces from the floor, cooing to her daughter, “Can we play this one after the meal?”
Candace pouted but still put the puzzle pieces in her hand on the floor. Alfred and Fritzi brought the food out of the kitchen.
Candace was excited as she saw crawfish, pointing at the dish, “Co-Cody!”
Crawfishes were Cody’s favorite.
Cristelle nodded, smiling, “Yes, honey. Cody likes the crawfish the best. When he comes back, Mommy will cook him crawfish as well.”
“He likes crawfish?” Linford asked his daughter.
Candace nodded heavily.
“Why does he like that? It’s unhealthy,” Linford shook his head.
“No!” Candace pulled at Linford’s sleeve, showing unhappiness when people disagreed against the things Cody loved, “No!”
“She’s so protective over her brother,” Drew laughed, “Do you miss your brother, Candace?”
Candace’s eyes flew toward Doctor Drew. She missed her twin brother so much.
Pop couldn’t eat things too oily or spicy for healthy reasons. He was eating the veggie and high protein food Alfred prepared for him, “I also miss the boy. I hope he can come back soon.”
Linford rolled his eyes. Why was everyone missing that little devil? He even got a bit jealous as Candace clearly liked her brother more than she liked him. Linford knew it was childish, but he just couldn’t help it.
When they finished the meal, Cristelle brought Candace upstairs. Jack helped Pop up, and they went to the garden to take a walk. Fritzi went along with them.
Drew, Linford, and Alfred were the only ones left in the room.
Linford shot Alfred a glance, and the young man stood up and locked the door of the room quickly.
Drew instantly realized that it was the time to talk about the real business, but he still couldn’t put the crawfish down, “Charles is getting to the Wayne House. When will you start your plan, Linford?”
“I’m meeting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne tomorrow. Of course, they can’t take all the blame. They didn’t do it,” Linford had done a lot of work secretly.
Drew was peeling a crawfish, “I’ve been quite curious. How did the Wayne House get blackmailed by Clara? Clara is a bit too smart. Don’t you think?”
Linford huffed coldly, “Being that smart is probably not good for her.”
