Diego followed her and went to the main bedroom, seeing two glasses of wine on the nightstand.
What was she trying to do? Diego eyed her suspiciously.
Pamela caught the passing suspicion on his face.
“Just… Don’t assume anything. I just want to talk to you. We haven’t talked to each other for months.” Pamela walked to the nightstand, picked up two wine glasses, and slowly poured wine into them. She walked back to him, handing the other glass filled with wine halfway.
Diego took it hesitantly, staring at Pamela’s face.
“Do you remember when we were young? You and Cristelle were a sweet couple. Everyone thought you two were perfect for each other. They said you and Cristelle were born to be made a match from heaven. I used to be jealous because I love you so much, but I could only watch you two from a distance. And I was not even qualified to get any close to you.”
“Why are you mentioning those old memories? Do you find it amusing?” Diego hated it when people talked about his past. He couldn’t stop feeling deep regret whenever people mentioned the old days.
Pamela took a sip from her wine and smiled sadly, “I know it’s boring. Me trying so hard to marry you sounded like a disgrace to you. You, marrying me for wealth and power, is also a boring fact. We both didn’t expect Cristelle, that rich woman falling from her high pedestal, only to snap back again to be the powerful Mrs. Bradley one day.”
“Can you stop now?!” The veins on Diego’s temples popped out, indicating that burning anger filled his heart. He couldn’t bear it when people slapped the painful truth to his face, reminding him how foolish he was.
Pamela hastened to explain, “I’m just trying to tell you that the Bradley House is too powerful. You can never win if you confront them head-on. My dad just said they recently made a new product, and it’s a digital product. They are trying to steal your market.”
Diego frowned as he emptied the glass of wine into his mouth, “I don’t care about their new plans. No one can touch my market.”
Diego was confident that his company would always win when it came to digital products and advanced technology.
“Really?” Pamela smiled viciously.
Diego suddenly felt a bit dizzy, “What did you put in my wine?”
Pamela took off her clothes and wrapped her arms around his body, “I’m your wife. I’m just here to fulfill my obligation.”
Diego threw her onto the bed, his eyes bloodshot, “Why are you such a whore, Pamela? Do you want me to fuck you? Fine. I’ll give you what you want.”

When Pamela woke up the next morning, Diego was already gone. She still felt the pain as she went to the bathroom, and bruises covered her whole body. But she still smiled at her reflection. She felt contented.
After cleaning everything up, she went to the airport, thinking things would eventually be okay. However, she was captured by a couple of cops when she showed up in the lobby.
“What the heck are you doing?” Pamela yelled, acting like a mad woman.
She got so panicked. If she got caught this time, she would never be able to leave. She didn’t have any bargaining chips to threaten that bitch anymore.
Charles told his men coldly to take this mad woman away, “Mrs. Barnett, stop struggling. The evidence of you sending Conner to harm Linford’s daughter has been gathered. You can’t escape this time.”
She knew it!
She had felt so scared the day when the news was out. She should have run right away. But she didn’t want to leave Diego for too long, and she spent two more days with him.
And now, she would never have any chances to run.
Pamela was still resentful toward that woman. She wished she could break that little bitch’s leg. So her slut Mom would live in misery for the rest of her life.
She regretted that her plan once again failed.

In Conner’s ward, Linford was sitting on the chair next to the bed, “How did you get to know that my wife had left my daughter’s ward that day?”
Conner had calmed down at the moment. Now that Pamela had been captured, he had nothing to hide, “I’m working in this hospital every day. So I’ve been keeping an eye on Candace’s ward. It was quite difficult to find the chance at the beginning. But when I was gonna go back that day, I met someone in the elevator. His files fell on the floor. I helped him to pick it up, and it turned out he was a visitor to Candace’s ward. He was holding a laptop, and he acted pretty weirdly. So I caught him up and tried to figure out what he was coming for.”
Conner thought back for a second, “I believe he went to the restroom directly. And then, Candace’s Mom just walked out and went to meet him. I thus got to know that it was the perfect chance to execute the plan.”
Conner’s confession confirmed Linford’s assumption. That man was pretty smart. He found a tool to harm Candace, and he didn’t even need to wield it to achieve his purpose.
Dark anger clouded Linford’s eyes. Jasper probably thought his plan was perfect, and he didn’t leave any trace behind, but Linford swore secretly that he would make that vicious bastard pay for what he did.

Meanwhile, in Linford’s mansion, Cristelle just got a phone call from Jasper.
“Cristelle, are you okay? I’ve been so worried. It took me so long to find you. You didn’t get hurt, did you?”
Cristelle just switched on her phone to FaceTime, her daughter. She had declined Jasper’s calls multiple times, but he kept on calling. The ringtone was driving her crazy. She had no choice but to answer it.
“My phone was taken away. I’m in Linford’s mansion right now. Candace’s okay, and they’ve caught the attacker.” Cristelle said calmly. Right now, she regretted the decision to open that studio with Jasper. Now, she would never be able to steer clear of this guy.
Jasper sounded caring and loving as usual, “I’m glad you’re okay, Cristelle. How could those people just take your phone? Why are you in his mansion right now? Did he lock you there? Are you in danger now? Don’t be scared. I’m on my way to save you.”
“Don’t! Jasper… PLEASE don’t!” Cristelle said hurriedly, “I’m just staying here temporarily. I’ll be back in a couple of days. I probably can’t work for our studio during this time. I’m so sorry.”
