They were still laughing when Tanya walked in.
Darwin also came along with her.
Franco felt weird seeing them, “Why are you guys here? It’s quite late now.”
Darwin lifted Cody up from Drew’s lap, “I’m just here to see my grandchildren. Do you miss your Grandpa, boy?”
“Yeah,” Cody didn’t want to be rude.
Darwin smiled as he sat down, noticing Candace was sitting in the corner, “What are you eating, princess?”
Candace showed him some cookies. Tanya put the freshly-baked dessert she brought here on the table, “I bring these from home. I remember Candace enjoys them. So I asked the maid to make more.”
Candace smelt the sweetness, staring at those desserts without blinking.
Drew didn’t expect them to appear suddenly. Should he call Linford right now?
Darwin suddenly called his name when he was drowning in his thoughts. “Isn’t this the Weston boy? Thank you for sending the babies here. It’s getting late. You probably need to go back so you can take a rest.”
Drew smiled, “Sir, Linford asked me to stay so I can take care of the babies. But, I’m afraid that I can’t…”
“It’s okay. I’ll talk to him. It’s getting dark. You should go. If Linford says anything, I’ll talk to him. Besides, we’re their family. You’re not afraid that I would do anything to harm the babies, are you?” Darwin already sounded a bit impatient, cutting Drew’s words.
“Grandpa, Drew is a good person,” Cody reminded Darwin.
Drew felt deeply touched. He decided to stay no matter what. However, before he could say anything, Darwin suddenly said to Jack, “Make sure Drew leaves safely.” And then, he turned to Cody, “I know Drew is an amazing person. But it’s getting late. He won’t feel comfortable staying here. I bet he also wants to go back to his place. It’s not like I’m ditching him out or anything.”
But you were ditching him right now. Cody was a bit speechless.
Drew called Linford instantly as he stepped out of Franco’s mansion.
“Your dad just came, and he kicked me out of the house. I’m standing outside of the gate right now, I don’t think he would let me stay. Should I break in? Will everything be fine?”
Linford just got out of the shower. His face fell as he heard what Drew said, “I get it now. You can go back if you have left. Go pick them up for school tomorrow morning. I’ll be back tomorrow.”
Drew sighed, “Okay then. Remember to call me whenever you need me to be here.”
“Thanks.”

Meanwhile, Darwin was trying to make his granddaughter dance for him. Franco had once shown off before him that Candace danced for him. Darwin thus had gone a bit jealous.
He received Linford’s call when he was laughing and clapping.
“Hello, Linford?” Darwin was clearly in a good mood.
Linford didn’t want to waste any time with him, “What are you going to do to my babies?”
Darwin’s face fell, “What are you saying, Linford?”
“I’m asking what are you going to do to my babies?” Linford was straightforward, “They’re just babies. You can’t take it too far.”
Darwin cast a glance at his grandchildren before leaving the room, “They are also my grandchildren! They are Bradleys! Do you really think I will do anything to harm them? Are you questioning your father right now, Linford?”
Linford stayed impassive, his tone cold, “It’s not like you’ve never done such things before. They are my children, not stepping stones for your promotion. I’ll be back tomorrow, and I’d like to see them happy and healthy.”
With that, he hung up the phone, not giving Darwin any chance to explain anything.
Darwin was so pissed off that he almost threw the phone away.
He had three sons. The oldest one was in the army. The second one had passed away. The third one gave him the most headaches. For some inexplicable reason, Linford just hated being close to him.
Darwin didn’t want his grandchildren to be treating him like this as well in the future.
He had been a bit wavering before this call, but now, he was determined.
Candace was still dancing. She looked like a little fairy fluttering around. Darwin’s eyes softened as he saw his granddaughter.
What a beautiful baby. Unfortunately, she couldn’t speak. After the dance was over, Darwin lowered his body and picked Candace up, “What an amazing little dancer.”
Candace bit into a chocolate bar handed to her by Tanya, enjoying the taste of it.
Cody frowned. Candace tended to neglect everything when she had snacks.
“Darwin, why did Linford call you this late?” Franco suddenly asked.
“Him?” Darwin smiled, “Oh. He asked me to take care of the babies. That was just unnecessary. Why wouldn’t I take care of my grandchildren?”
Franco smiled, “He might have worried too much.”
“Candace, let’s go back to the room. Pop and Grandpa have something to discuss.” Cody took Candace’s hand and left, looking over his shoulder suspiciously. He had a feeling that things were not as easy as his Grandpa said.
But there was nothing he could do because he was too small.
Candace was still happy, oblivious to the danger looming over her.
“The babies have left. What are you trying to tell me? Is it about Linford?” Franco knew his son and grandson too well.
Darwin took a sip from his tea, “Well, Tanya’s cousin is a world-class psychologist. Candace’s silence is not normal. We should make sure she gets better before she gets too old. They’re both 5 now. We can’t afford to wait, or the treatment would be even harder.”
Darwin also voiced Franco’s concern. He also wanted Candace to get better.
However…
“But Linford said Candace’s not sick. She just doesn’t want to talk yet. He said she would be able to talk soon.”
“He’s spoiling her. This is his first time being a father. He probably thinks seeing Candace through the sessions was painful. But Candace is the only silent child in the kindergarten. Her classmates must be judging her a lot. It’s not good for her.”
Franco went angry. “Who dares to judge my great-grandchildren? I’m gonna talk to him!”
