Linford held the door open for her so she could get in the car, “When you were picking fabric. I didn’t want to distract you. So I called them outside.”
“Oh.” Cristelle still seemed a bit worried, “Thanks.” She had to admit that Linford always knew how to take care of people.
The car pulled over before the biggest hotel in the city. Linford led the way, and Cristelle followed him into a fancy suite.
“Let’s spend the night here. Then, we can go back tomorrow morning.”
Cristelle was so tired, “Sounds great.”
She wanted to get into the room and take a long shower before calling for some food.
“Don’t let water get on your forehead. Be very careful when you shower,” Linford suddenly reminded her.
Cristelle’s footsteps faltered, “Huh?”
“You got water on your forehead the last time, remember? It caused pain for you the next day. Make sure you’re careful enough this time.” Linford sounded as casual as he could be. But the way he looked at her made her blush.
She didn’t expect him to remember things that happened so long ago. So she nodded, “I know. It’s getting late. You also need some rest.”
“Okay. But it’s only 8. When you’re done taking a shower, we should FaceTime the babies. They must be us missing so much right now,” Linford actually had got everything arranged.
Cristelle didn’t object to that.
She walked in the bathroom direction.
But wait. How did he know that she was gonna take a shower? Could he read her mind?
Forget about it. Cristelle sighed and decided to take her shower first.
When she returned from the bathroom, two plates of meatball pasta were already on the table.
Linford also changed into his casual clothes at home, pouring orange juice into glasses.
Cristelle’s eyes shortly lingered on his strong arms.
Damn!
Could he stop showing his sexy physique a little?
Cristelle sat before the table and put a forkful of pasta into her mouth.
“Geez! It tastes so good. We should ask them to send more food.”
Linford’s eyebrows slightly raised as he sat beside her, “I’m glad you like it.”
Cristelle went to brush her teeth after finishing the meal. Linford went to clean the dishes and pots, which he used to cook the simple meal that Cristelle thought was sent by the hotel staff.
When everything was done, he went to the living room, sitting beside Cristelle on the couch as she called the babies.
“Mommy! Why didn’t you come back today?” Cody asked immediately when he saw her face.
Cristelle was smiling, “Sorry, baby. Mommy’s got a business trip. Where’s your sister?”
And then, the frame shifted, and she heard Drew’s voice, “Come on, guys. Sit here so Mommy and Daddy can see us.” And then, she saw everyone. Cody was sitting on Drew’s lap. Candace was held by Franco.
“Take care of them,” Linford said to Drew.
Drew bumped his knee, so Cody bumped up and down, too, “Don’t worry. It will be okay. Cody’s extra nice tonight.”
Nice? Cody?
Linford found it hard to believe. “Linford, Cristelle, you guys don’t need to worry. The babies love it here. They also love the meal,” Franco looked like he was in a good mood. Seeing the babies made him extremely happy tonight.
“That’s a relief. Thank you so much, Mr. Bradley,” Cristelle smiled at the old man before turning to Cody, “Cody, be good and don’t stir any trouble. Remember to take care of Candace and don’t let her eat too much dessert.”
Linford’s arm draped naturally over Cristelle’s shoulder as she said those things to the boy.
Cody saw that. And he was deeply bothered.
So the boy cleared his throat, “Mom, I also have one thing to tell you.”
Cristelle was confused, “What is it, baby?”
“Mom, I don’t want another brother or sister. You don’t have to give me one soon. I only want Candace.”
The silence lasted for a couple of minutes, and everyone started to laugh hysterically.
Jack was holding the phone, and he almost dropped it when he laughed.
What was the boy thinking?
No more brothers or sisters. Was he serious?
Drew laughed so hard that tears rolled down his cheeks, “Did you hear that, Linford? Tonight, you’d better… Jesus! Hahahahahaha…” The doctor couldn’t even finish his sentence.
“Shut up and take care of them,” Linford snorted coldly, face falling gloomy.
Cody pouted, “Not yet. Can you promise me, Mommy?”
Cristelle’s face dyed red like a tomato, forcing an answer between her teeth, “Oh, okay, Mommy promises you. You won’t have more brothers and sisters except for Candace.”
What the heck was that?
And where did Cody learn such things? How could she and Linford ever do something intimate?
This was so embarrassing!
As he hung up the phone, Linford still seemed to be at ease, “Don’t care about that. He’s just a baby. He doesn’t even know what he’s talking about.”
Cristelle sighed, “You’re right. Let’s go to sleep.”
Cristelle only realized how sussy it sounded after blurting the sentence out.
LET’S go to sleep.
What the heck?
“In separate rooms,” She instantly added.
But Linford was weirdly staring at her.
He looked like he was gonna eat her alive. His eyes darkened with desire.
Cristelle cleared her throat. Linford instantly dropped his gaze, “Of course. Have a sweet dream.”

“Dude, you’re such a troublemaker,” Drew was teasing Cody, “When can you grow into liking your dad? He’s cool.”
“It will never happen,” Cody sounded pretty unwavering.
Franco laughed, “You will grow into liking your father. You two shared too many similarities.”
Cody shook his head again. It would never happen.
Drew liked how stubborn he was, “I wish my son would be like this one in the future. Cody always has his own thoughts.”
Cody was a bit smug, “Well. It would help if you tried harder, then. Not everyone can have smart babies like me.”
Candace was eating desserts secretly when no one was paying attention. She couldn’t understand her brother. Why couldn’t Cody like their Daddy? Their Daddy was so nice and handsome.
