He didn’t care about that woman anyway.
“I demand an explanation from the Wayne house. How could they educate their younger generation this way? Zoe doesn’t like a proper lady, for the least! I’m so disappointed.”
Darwin’s attitude was pretty clear. He demanded an explanation from the Wayne house.
Tanya was smiling, “Mr. Wayne retired a long time ago. He probably didn’t even know what had happened earlier. The two houses have been friends since a long time ago. If he could explain the whole thing, I bet you would be generous enough to forgive them. Am I right?”
Darwin still hadn’t calmed down yet, his voice was cold and stern, “A real friend would never say such things. The babies are Linford’s blood!”
Linford was different.
Tanya’s face changed as she heard that.
The father and son might seem like they couldn’t get along. But deep down, Darwin was always proud of his son.
Tanya felt worse thinking how Darwin secretly adored his son.
How wonderful it would be if she had a son too!
She wouldn’t have felt so helpless and alone now. Clara walked into the house at that moment.
Before she could say anything, Tanya suddenly shook her head at her. Clara thus shut her mouth instantly.

“Clara, you’re back! Great. Tell us what happened. Why did they end up saying those things to each other?” Darwin sounded pretty stern. He also saw Clara in that video clip.
Clara halted her pace, “Well… It was all because of the misunderstanding between them. The two houses have been friends for years. Zoe might be a bit wayward. But she would never say those things on purpose. I know Cristelle looks gentle. Well, I just didn’t expect her to have such a vicious tongue.”
Clara shook her head as if she also didn’t want this to happen.
Darwin thought for a second. He still remembered that woman when she visited here the last time. She might look soft and gentle in appearance, but she was quite tough.
“Really? I thought she was a good woman for Linford. I didn’t expect her to know no manners.” Darwin believed what Clara said and instantly judged Cristelle.
Tanya said, “Luckily, the two families have always been quite close. I can’t even imagine what would happen if Cristelle offended another family.”
The way Tanya said that hinted that Cristelle didn’t even know how to socialize. It was Zoe’s fault, but right now, it sounded like Cristelle was the one who started the trouble. Darwin thought that Cristelle was from a remote little town after all. This woman didn’t have much experience dealing with the upper class. Could she really help Linford with his business in the future? Did she deserve to be called Mrs. Bradley without bringing any humiliation to the family?
Clara sniffed a chance. She exchanged a look with Tanya, continuing, “These things don’t even matter. What worries me the most is if she can properly raise my niece and nephew. I don’t think she can take care of them and give them the best education. They are too little to be neglected.”
What she said was the thing Darwin was afraid of the most. He hadn’t seen the babies since the last time they met. He could only FaceTime them now and then. Linford just wouldn’t bring them back.
Tanya cut in, “This is also what I’ve been worried about. Candace doesn’t even speak at her age. It would be most suitable for Candace if we could fix this problem right now. She’s still young and has a chance to get better. Some said it’s hard for children who suffered selective mutism to recover when they passed a certain age.”
Clara added, “Mom, you’ve got a relative, right? You said he was an expert.
Why don’t we invite him here so he can take a look at Candace?”
Tanya acted like she didn’t make up her mind. “My cousin really is an expert. But he’s still aboard. Besides, Candace has been living with Cristelle all the time. If I make the girl come here, I’m afraid they will be unhappy about that. So I’ve never mentioned that idea before.”
Darwin couldn’t sit there anymore after hearing this. He stood up from his seat instantly, “Unhappy about what? About their daughter getting treated? She made my granddaughter disabled. She shouldn’t be too proud to stand in my way when I try to invite a doctor for her. Go, find your cousin right now and tell him to come back instantly. If Linford asks about this, tell him that I told you to do that. Candace is his daughter as well. I don’t believe that he doesn’t want the best for the girl.”
Tanya quickly nodded in agreement.
Darwin’s assistant showed up at the moment, whispering something into his ear.
Darwin thus said, “I have something to deal with right now. You two go handle the Wayne problem.”
With that, he walked out of the mansion.
“Clara, did you hear that? What does he mean?” Tanya looked a bit excited as Darwin left.
Clara smiled, “It’s very clear. He doesn’t want things to get out of his control. We must make sure the reputation of the family is unharmed. And it looks like he wants us to take the babies here.”
“What?” Tanya’s voice was trembling. “He really wants that?” She also had assumed it earlier. She just couldn’t believe Darwin would make such an abrupt decision.
“Candace can’t even talk. Dad must hate Cristelle for this. She was from a small town yet brave enough to start such a scene. She doesn’t deserve Linford. Darwin knows that. You only need to call your cousin and ask him to come back so he can help you. Whatever the means he uses, as long as he can make Candace talk, Darwin will be grateful to you. He would probably give the babies to you, so you can raise them.”
Clara tried to lure Tanya in, “Kids tend to miss their grandparents when they grow up. If we can make Cristelle leave, the kids will be yours. And they will treat you as the only one they love after 10 or 20 years later.”
