Linford then swore solemnly, “I will never put my eyes on a woman like that.”
“Cody… Just stop saying anything.” Cristelle patted her son’s shoulder. She felt lucky to have a son like this.
But Cristelle still couldn’t stop herself from asking, “Why is your second sister-in-law so hostile toward me?”
She didn’t know much about Linford’s family. But she still remembered how Clara had acted last time when she went to visit the Bradley mansion.
She still remembered what the dinner had been like. They had made it very clear that they would never accept her. It didn’t matter. Cristelle didn’t want to be a part of the family anyway. It was just that, Clara. She seemed like she wished Cristelle dead. Cristelle could tell from the way she looked at her.
A gleam of resentment shone across Linford’s eyes. He didn’t even want to mention that woman.
“That woman. You don’t even need to worry about her. Just ignore her directly. Don’t pay any attention to what she says. She’s irrelevant.”
Was this an answer to her question? It should be. But Linford didn’t even explain why.
Cristelle only felt weirder about Clara’s attitude.
Maybe she should stop being curious about that.
Linford took his wife and babies back to their apartments.
Candace was still so happy about having a new dress. She was whirling in small circles after getting changed.
Cristelle wasn’t in a good mood, but seeing her daughter act so adorable made her happy. She couldn’t help smiling as Candace showcased her new dress to her and Cody.
“Oh my gosh, honey. You look like a real princess!”
Candace got more excited hearing the praise.
She looked like a little fairy. Linford pulled out his phone and recorded a video for his daughter. His daughter was the most precious thing in this world to him. No one could take her away from him. Candace twirled toward Cody, showing him the wide hem of the dress, asking silently if he thought the dress was pretty.
Cody sighed. “It’s pretty, Candace. It suits you.”
Why was Candace still caring about her dress? Cody couldn’t understand. He thought anything with too many flower patterns was ugly, but he knew he must make Candace happy.
“Cody, take care of your sister, will you? Mommy has to make a meal for you guys right now.” Cristelle felt so much better seeing her son and daughter both having fun.
“No problem, Mom,” Cody nodded. He still had other things to do. He could only wish they could finish making the meal soon.
By the way, why was that man also in the kitchen? He should be the one who was taking care of Candace right now.
Cody secretly decided to set up another blind date for Mom. Finding his Mom a suitable partner weighed more than anything.
Cristelle went back into the kitchen, getting all the veggies she bought in the store out. She first made some freshly squeezed juice. And then, she started to boil spaghetti. But before she could do that, Linford suddenly came forth, taking ingredients and the pot away from her, “I can do this.”
Cristelle cast him a cold glance before grabbing a bottle of butter and trying to make some spaghetti sauce.
However, Linford took the bottle as well, “I’ve got this.”
The way he cooked the tomato sauce was quite professional. Cristelle couldn’t believe that he had seldom cooked growing up in a wealthy house.
“What are you doing?” She frowned a little.
He didn’t even have to do this.
Linford drained the boiled spaghetti, smiling, “I’m trying to apologize.”
Cristelle lowered her gaze, blushing, “I’m not mad. You didn’t do anything wrong. You don’t have to act like this. In the car, Cody was just scared. He’s just a boy. He should never have said those things to you.”
She sighed and took those ingredients away from Linford. She then started to cook silently.
Linford didn’t want to be so clingy, but he could tell she was clearly upset about what had happened earlier.
He thus secretly swore that he wouldn’t allow anyone to touch the woman he loved and his babies anymore.
The family of four was enjoying their meal. On the other hand, however, someone was desperate.
“Clara, you must help me. If Linford really ruins my family business, those people will kick me out of this city!” Zoe was crying.
She was truly scared this time. That was Linford Bradley. He always meant what he said. She knew the Wayne house was doomed if someone didn’t change his idea right now.
“Don’t worry, Zoe. There’s still friendship between the two houses. I’ll go back and talk to Grandpa. He will probably make Linford change his idea.” Clara was trying to comfort Zoe. She was no less panicked than Zoe. Linford seldom took in any advice. She knew he would fulfill his promise very soon.
Zoe was still crying her heart out, “Please, Clara. Please tell your grandpa about this. Please tell him not to touch our business. I would do anything for you if you can keep our business.”
Clara nodded, “Don’t worry. You know I will do anything for you. Just go home first and tell your family to stay calm. I’m going to meet Grandpa right now. He’s the only person that Linford would listen to.”
Zoe’s head was a mess right now. She didn’t even know how to think properly. She could only listen to whatever Clara told her.
Meanwhile, the servant in Darwin’s house just showed the video clip where Zoe bullied Cristelle.
“What the heck is this? How could Zoe call my Grandchildren bastards? They are all Bradleys!” Darwin was genuinely pissed off by Zoe. But he didn’t care about Cristelle.
“Honey, could there be some misunderstanding?” Tanya asked, “Zoe seems like a good girl. Did Cristelle say something foul to get on her nerves?”
Darwin slammed the table, “Even Cristelle said something wrong first, Zoe should never say those things to the babies! She was smearing our family name!”
He had just assumed that Cristelle was the one who started the drama. But it didn’t matter.
