This was the early spring, and the garden was filled with visitors. Most of them were having picnics under trees.
Linford threw a huge bag toward Cristelle, “Could you do that? Candace didn’t want to shift.”
The girl was sleeping in his arms, drooling.
Cristelle opened the pack, seeing a mini tent, blankets, and other stuff. He had prepared everything.
Cristelle cast a look at Candace and started to get things prepared.
Cody sat there, watching his Mom busy. When it was finally time, he jumped up and held onto Cristelle’s arm, “Mom, I need to pee. Could you please go with me?”
The toilet in the park was public. Cristelle would never let Cody go to that place alone. So she held his hand and decided to walk Cody there.
Linford arched an eyebrow as he smelt something fishy, “Why are you taking the backpack with you to the toilet?”
Cody hadn’t put down that backpack for once after they came to the park.
Cody frowned, “Because I want to. Any problem?”
“No problem,” Linford smiled gently as he held his sleeping daughter in his arms, “Just go.”
Cody huffed and dragged Cristelle away.
Alfred walked forth as Linford nodded at him, “Go check them out.”
Alfred nodded and hastily followed them.
Cody noticed someone was following them. So he picked up his speed and took Cristelle to the back door of the toilet, “Mommy, hurry! Let’s go.”
Cristelle was a bit shocked, “Where are you going? I thought you wanted to pee.”
Cody didn’t have much time to explain anything, “Mommy, could you come with me first? I promise you it’s gonna be really fast.”
Cristelle frowned, “But you need to tell me where we are going, sweetie. Candace is still waiting for us.”
Cody pouted as he looked up. “That man is gonna take care of Candace anyway. Are you trusting me or not?”
Cristelle could tell how anxious her little boy was. She sighed and wiped his forehead with her sleeve, “Of course. Mommy always trusts you. Let’s go.”
Cody took her and left through the back door of the park. He said the address of a place after getting in a taxi.
Cristelle was curious. She didn’t know why they were going there. The place Cody just said was pretty far away.
Cody only smiled mysteriously, “You’ll know when we’re there. It’s a surprise.”
Surprise?
Cristelle started to get interested.
They headed for the changing room the minute they arrived at another park. Cody gave his backpack to Cristelle, “Mom, go get changed.”
Get changed?
Cristelle put a hand on the boy’s back. The back of his shirt was damp because he had carried the backpack all the way there.
“Why do you need mommy to get changed?” Cristelle crouched down, wiping Cody’s face with a soft tissue. Cody only smiled, “You will know very soon.” Saying that he pushed her into the changing room.
Cristelle was so confused. When she opened the backpack in that room, she was completely dumbfounded. There was a red dress in it. This dress was quite revealing, and Cristelle seldom put it on usually. She didn’t expect Cody to let her wear that.
Besides the dress, there were all sorts of makeup products. She basically got everything she needed for a blind date.
Was this what it was? A blind date?
Cristelle got changed and put some makeup on. The woman looking back at her in the mirror was stunning.
“Cody, what is this exactly? Can you tell Mommy now?” Cristelle asked.
“Come with me, and you will know,” Cody pulled her hand and walked toward the public square.
A huge gate made of balloons was erected in the middle of the square. A long carpet made of flower petals led onto the granite stairs.
Cristelle saw beautifully dressed men and women chatting with each other with glasses of wine in their hands.
She read the notes on the table and realized instantly this was a party for single men and women to know each other.
It was a blind date!
Cristelle thought her head was gonna explode for that short second!
“Cody… Cody… Are you taking your Mom here to find a p-partner?”
Cody nodded heavily, “Mommy, you need to face reality. Come with me.”
Cristelle was completely shocked as she followed her son.
When did Cody even learn this trick? She stared at Cody’s damp shirt, feeling complicated. Why would the boy urge her to get married?
“Mommy! Over here!” Cody weaved his way through the crowd, waving his hands at Cristelle,
“Mommy! Over here!”
Cristelle was a beautiful woman. She was extra stunning wearing that dress. Cody’s existence also caught a lot of attention. Some men couldn’t tear their eyes away from her. Cristelle felt a bit uncomfortable under their hot stares.
“Hurry, Mom!” Cody just spotted a really handsome man who looked like a righteous person as well.
Cristelle felt a bit embarrassed as she approached her little boy.
“It’s good to see you, Sir. This is my Mom. She’s a beautiful and honest woman and a great cook. She’s probably the kindest person you’ve ever met. She had a heart of gold. You won’t regret it if you marry her. Even though my Mom already has two babies, my sisters and I are both good kids. You won’t mind Mommy having kids already, will you?”
Of course, he would mind!
Cristelle rolled her eyes to herself. She looked up and saw the man. He had the sharpest pair of blue eyes she had ever seen. And he had this righteous and decent aura about him.
He looked like he was trained for years in the Army.
“Um… I’m so sorry, Sir… My boy is just playing a game. I hope we didn’t interrupt you.” Cristelle apologized as she pulled the boy back.
“I’m not playing, Mom!” Cody looked like he was pissed off, “I’ve already signed you up!”
“Sign me up? When did that happen?
Cody shook his little head, “You don’t need to worry about it. Sir, you must be single, right? Are you here to know other single ladies? Right?”
Enzo Bradley stared at the boy, nodding rigidly. Sort of.
“Then, what do you think of my mom?” Cody asked eagerly, staring at the man before him.
