Chapter 97
She had wanted to leave but she knew if she had left Dina would have told Lisa everything. That she was the one behind everything. So she tried killing her but Dina didn’t want to go down without a fight. God!! I hate her.
She was never my target, Lisa was my target all this while but now see what she brought upon herself. She should have just minded her business, Martha thought.
This is all Lisa’s fault. She hates her so much. She hates her with her life and everything she’s got in her. She wonders why a lot of people love her.
She had just come from nowhere, absolutely nowhere and boom she started working in Daniel’s company. Not even up to two weeks she got promoted to the position I have been trying to earn for years now but haven’t gotten, Martha thought.
Martha had never been happy with Lisa since the day she started working in the company, especially the fact that she was close to Daniel and everyone assumed she was his wife.
Martha had liked Daniel so much she was so in love with him. She started doing everything to make sure she got close to Daniel.
She would dress sexy to work and work very hard so Daniel could notice her and it was truly working because Daniel was starting to like her because she was hardworking. That’s why he appointed her to personally put Lisa through in the work since she wasn’t so familiar with it yet.
She knew Tessa would always visit Daniel and bring him food and all but she knew Daniel didn’t love Tessa the way she wanted him to. He only saw Tessa as a sister and nothing more so Martha never saw Tessa as a threat.
But when Lisa came into the picture without being told twice she knew Lisa was a threat. With the way Daniel treats her, with the way he looks at Lisa and everything, she knew she had to do something to get rid of her before she ruins all her plans.
But then she noticed joy never liked Lisa too. She was only pretending she liked her because her sister Julia and stupid Fay friend Derek liked Lisa a lot. She hates the fact that Lisa had come from nowhere and boom got promoted for a project they all did together. She hated her for that.
Martha could see the hatred was raw and deep. She felt so happy because she’s seen someone with whom she can join hands with and get rid of Lisa. As they say, two heads are better than one.
She and Julia had come up with the first plan to poison Lisa with the coffee. They made sure no one would suspect by using Liam and Martha was the one with Lisa the day she drank the coffee. She was even the one that brought her to the hospital and called Daniel.
Since her first plan didn’t work, she and Joy had been planning another until Dina found out about everything and ruined it. This angered Martha a lot.
She rolled her eyes and texted joy at the address.
“She would need joy here because of this goddamn annoying child. The child is quite familiar with joy so anytime she wakes up, she’ll sure feel safe around joy. Then she can think of how to get out of this place ” Martha Thought. She opened her bag and brought out a pack of cigarettes. She took a stick from it, brought out a lighter and lit it.
She put it in her mouth and drew in the smoke, removed it from her mouth, and puffed out the smoke.

Daniel walked inside Lisa’s ward, holding a bag that contained some food and snacks. He had bought it for Lisa and her friends so they could eat.
“Thank you ” Lisa smiled at Daniel who smiled at her in return.
Just then heard his phone ring. It was a call from Williams.
“I’ll answer this,” Daniel said as he walked out of the ward.
“He’s so sweet,” Derek said
“And romantic ” Julia added and Lisa rolled her eyes.
“Come on, let’s eat. I can’t wait to eat the delicious food he bought” Derek said smiling
“You guys can have all” Lisa said
“But why, ” Julia asked
“I don’t have any appetite. I wonder if Clara has eaten by now. She must be hungry” Lisa said and Julia placed her hands on Lisa’s and gave it a light squeeze.
“We’re gonna find her alright. You don’t have to worry, I’m sure she’s fine. Martha wouldn’t dare harm her” Derek consoled and Lisa nodded in response.
“Thank you guys for being here,” Lisa said
“It’s nothing. Dina is our friend too” Julia said
“Please let’s eat already. I’m famished,” Derek said and they all laughed.
Julia turned to joy
“Are you not hungry? You haven’t eaten since morning ” Julia asked
“No, I’m not. I’ll head home now. I’m already feeling sleepy and tired, ”Joy said and stood up from the chair she was sitting on.
“Why don’t you wait so we can go home together, ” Julia said
“No no, it’s fine. You can stay. I’ll just go home and rest and might come back later” joy said Julia nodded.
“You don’t know what you’re gonna miss. This food is more than delicious” Derek said with a mouthful of food.
“It’s fine Derek, I’m not hungry,” joy said
“Okay, see you later,” Julia said and stood up to hug her sister before she left.
Immediately she left Lisa who has been watching the whole scenario turned to Derek and Julia.
“Is your sister alright?” Lisa asked
“Yeah. I think so” Julia said already eating.
“Are you sure? Because have been noticing her since she came. She’s been acting weird. Like there is something about her I cannot place my fingers on” Lisa said.
“Same here, I noticed that too. Maybe she’s not comfortable with the hospital smell” Derek said with a shrug and Lisa laughed.
