Chapter 48
Daniels’ car screeched to a halt in front of the company and he hopped out of the car in a rush without waiting for his PA to open the door for him.
“Welcome sir. Welcome sir” workers from different angles greeted, he couldn’t answer all, all he could do was wave at them.
He was in a hurry because the board members were waiting for him in the conference room.
He walked inside his office, took some necessary documents and went to the conference room to attend the board meeting , with his PA by his side.
Hours later, the meeting was over, Daniel had returned back to his office and decided to go through some files sent to his office.
There was a knock on the door and a female figure walked in.
“You couldn’t even wait for me to say come in before coming in, Tessa,”Daniel said without raising his head. His eyes are still fixed on the files.
“Oh Daniel, it’s true you’re back. I dropped by your mom’s place and she told me you were back” Tessa smiled as she walked.
Daniel finally dropped those files in his hands. He chuckled and stood up to hug Teresa.
“Have missed you and your launch so much” Daniel said and Tessa giggled.
“I brought some for you” Tessa said smiling and Daniel quickly took the bag from him and brought out a cooler of food from it.
He quickly opened the food and started eating in a rush. Meanwhile, Tessa stood there lost in thoughts as he stared at the handsome man in front of him.
Tessa is a childhood friend of Daniel, who loves Daniel so much and wishes for them to be more than friends. But Daniel on the other hand sees Tessa as just a sister and nothing more but even though Teresa wouldn’t give up on Daniel. She believes one day he’s gonna reciprocate back the feelings so she’s definitely going to wait for him.
“Hey, what are you staring at? You should sit ” Daniel said while still eating and Tessa chuckled and sat down.
“You just keep looking handsome day by day. You know we would really make good parents together ” Tessa said and Daniel almost choked on his food but he quickly drank water.
“Don’t worry, your husband is going to be more handsome than me” Daniel said and Tessa felt her heart broken by the words he just said.
“What doesn’t he understand? It’s him I want, it’s him or no one else. If I can’t have him then no one can” she said in her thoughts almost getting angry.
“Common Tessa, you should smile. Why are you frowning on your face? I wouldn’t want mom to get angry at me for making you sad. Don’t worry I’m going to be more handsome than your husband ” Daniel said and she rolled her eyes.
Mrs Bella , Daniel’s mom , loves Tessa so much. She knows about Tessa’s feelings for his son. She supported it and encouraged Tessa that she shouldn’t give up on his feelings for Daniel. That one day Daniel is gonna reciprocate these feelings even though she knew he would never.
Even if it doesn’t happens, she promised to make it happen. Mrs Bella knows a lot of girls want to find their way into his son’s life but sadly his son is not a womanizer, neither is he a playboy but rather he’s chooses his family and work over everything and made it his first priority.
“Mom and I are going shopping today. Would you like to join us?” Daniel asked when he was done eating.
“Yes, sure I will,” Tessa said in a rush.
“Ok , meet me at mom’s later” he said smiling.

It was noon and Tessa had left to get dressed for the shopping. Daniel told his PA he was going to shop with his mom and sister, so Williams should make sure everything is in place in his absence.
He left the office in his car and went straight to his mom’s house. He entered the house and met Nova and his mom dressed.
“Let’s go,” Daniel said, almost forgetting the fact that he told Tessa to join them.
“Tessa said you said she should join us” mrs bella said
“But she’s not here yet.”
“She will be here soon. Let’s wait for her. She must be held by traffic, ”Mrs Bella said and Daniel nodded and sat down.
“Have you had a launch?” Mrs Bella asked
“Yes, Tessa brought me lunch today” Daniel said and mrs Bella smiled at his son and Daniel raised his eyebrow.
“Son you know how Tessa really feels about you, right?” Mrs Bella said and Daniel sighed softly.
“Mom!! not again!” Daniel said and his mom smiled and sat close to his son.
“Daniel! Please listen to me” his mom said smiling at his son
“I have known Tessa from childhood. She’s a nice caring girl with a nice family. I see whatever love she has for you is sincere and pure. Please, son, give her a chance!!” Mrs Bella said and held his hands.
“Mom I…….” Daniel paused when he heard footsteps. It was Tessa. She was looking as beautiful as snow white but not as beautiful as Lisa. Daniel thought and suddenly but then he quickly shook off the thoughts.
Why is thinking about Lisa, he thought.
“Oh my goodness, I’m sorry for keeping you guys waiting” Tessa said as she walked in majestically , her eyes on Daniel thinking he was lost in her beauty, Unknowingly to her , he was thinking of someone else.
Mrs Bella who saw his son stare at Tessa lost in her beauty thought Daniel was thinking of Tessa unknowingly to her, his son was thinking about someone else completely.
“She’s pretty right?” Mrs Bella whispered softly into Daniel’s ear, jolting him out of his thoughts.
“Huh” Daniel muttered as he was finally back to his senses.
“Tessa you’re here” Daniel said and smiled at her.
“Yeah. Mom” Tessa said and walked past Daniel to Mrs Bella and hugged her.
“You’re looking beautiful ” Mrs Bella complimented, smiling.
“Thank you mom” Tessa said smiling
“Aunt Tessa” little Nova yelled as she climbed down the stairs.
“Oh my baby” Tessa said smiling as she rushed towards nova and they both hugged each other.
Meanwhile, Mrs Bella turned to his son and noticed the weird look on his face like he was worried about something.
Daniel on the other hand was worried about Lisa, he wondered how she’s doing at home.
Just then he heard his phone ringing. He checked the caller ID and saw it was from ma’am Lois.
“Hello” he said as he answered the call.
“Daniel, you need to come home now” ma’am Lois said and ended the call. From the sound of her voice Daniel could tell it was an emergency and it’s concerning lisa.
“Mom, I need to go now” Daniel said and pecked her mom slightly on the cheeks.
“Why? Aren’t we going shopping again?” Mrs Bella asked
“Mom next time please, I’ll make it up to you guys I promise , I have something important to attend to” he said wearing a worried look and with that he ran out of the house and hopped into the car and drove out of the compound at speed.
