The three figures didn’t turn around, but their expressions instantly turned cold and grim.
The person on the left wore a black robe with a full moon embroidered at its center. His face was sinister, resembling an owl hidden in the night.
“Eric, Max, Aarav, Mathias, Gordon, all dead!” the man in the black robe announced in a chilling voice.
“Who dares to kill members of the Nine Thieves!?”
The person on the right wore a white robe with a blazing sun embroidered on it, his rough voice filled with rage.
The one in the middle wore a silver robe, his eyes glinting with silver light, his expression indifferent and cold. He didn’t speak but raised an eyebrow.
Then he reached into the void and grabbed two small silver light spheres.
“… The Moore Family… outsiders… revenge… make them wish for life, no, wish for death!” a sharp, venomous voice emanated from the light spheres.
“It’s the fifth brother’s voice,” the black-robed man said, his sinister face covered in frost.
“The Moore Family! Hmph, it seems The Lawson Family’s lesson wasn’t enough!” the white-robed man growled fiercely.
“The Moore Family, outsiders… Although the fifth brother and his group were useless, they weren’t just anyone’s prey,” the silver-robed man said, clenching his long fingers. The two sound-transmitting light spheres in his palm disintegrated. “I want to see who has the audacity to kill members of The Nine Thieves!”
In the vast sky above, the Shadow Black Skiff streaked across the horizon.
About an hour later, a grand and immense city appeared before Leo and his companions.
Surrounded by towering walls, the city resembled an ancient beast lying on the ground.
Looking far into the distance, Leo was certain this city was larger than any on Earth.
“Leo, we’ve arrived,” Mason said excitedly.
It felt like a narrow escape; he almost didn’t make it back.
Leo nodded and guided the flying vessel to land.
After landing outside Commonplace City, Leo shrank the vessel and stored it in his Storage Sack.
Looking up, the city walls rose hundreds of feet high, appearing as if cast from gold, majestic and towering.
Besides Leo and his group, many other streaks of light were heading toward the city, while others flew out from beyond the walls.
Even before entering the city, they could faintly hear the bustling sounds within, hinting at its prosperity and liveliness.
In front of the massive city gate stood two rows of a hundred guards clad in golden armor.
After paying the entrance fee, the group of six walked directly through the gate.
Inside Commonplace City, streets a hundred feet wide were lined with closely packed buildings and shops. A diverse array of cultivators walked along these streets.
Such a bustling scene far surpassed any city Leo had visited before.
“No wonder it’s a city with an inter-domain teleportation array,” Leo thought to himself.
In a central area of Commonplace City, Leo and his companions stopped in front of a grand mansion.
On the plaque above the entrance were two large gilded characters: “The Moore Manor.”
“Leo, this is my home,” Mason said.
With Mason, Haley, and Elder Cole leading the way, Leo, Sea Serpent King, and Seraphina entered The Moore Manor.
In The Moore Manor’s hall:
“What! The Nine Thieves dared to ambush you!?” A middle-aged man with a stern face exclaimed angrily after hearing Mason and Haley’s account.
This man was Malik, the current head of The Moore Family.
“Father, three elders in our team and ten guards were all killed. We owe our lives to Leo’s intervention,” Mason said gratefully, looking at Leo.
Malik turned his gaze to Leo and his companions once more.
Besides Malik, there were several elders of The Moore Family present, including Jasper Moore. They all looked at Leo and his companions.
With their keen eyes as high-level Spirit Saints at their peak, Malik and Jasper could tell that although these three had concealed their aura, their strength was at least at the high-level Spirit Saint stage to have slain five of The Nine Thieves.
To reach such a level at a young age was truly extraordinary talent.
“Leo saved my son and daughter; I am deeply grateful,” Malik said solemnly to Leo with a respectful gesture.
Leo returned the gesture politely. “Mr. Moore, you’re too kind.”
“Rest assured, Leo. This matter started because of The Moore Family; we won’t drag you into it. I’ll announce that those thieves were slain by us,” Malik added seriously.
Leo nodded slightly, not overly concerned about this.
Malik glanced at an elder who handed him a Storage Sack. Malik took it and offered it to Leo. “Leo, this is one hundred thousand Medium-Quality Spirit Stones as a token of gratitude.”
Leo’s eyes flickered; one hundred thousand Medium-Quality Spirit Stones was no small amount-equivalent to ten million Low-Quality Spirit Stones.
Seeing Leo hesitate to accept it, Malik smiled. “No need to decline, Leo. Without you, my son and daughter would have lost their lives, and their Spirit Stones would have been stolen.”
“In that case, I graciously accept,” Leo nodded and took the Storage Sack.
Malik continued, “I heard you wish to use Commonplace City’s inter-domain teleportation array. It’s currently under repair. Until then, please stay with us at The Moore Family so we can extend our hospitality.”
“Thank you for your hospitality,” Leo agreed without hesitation.
Jasper Moore warmly invited him. “In three days is Commonplace City’s Lantern Festival. There will be the grandest auction in three years that night-an event not to be missed. You can join us.”
“Thank you for the invitation. It would be an honor to attend such an event,” Leo replied with a nod and smile.
Leo was quite interested in auctions; if there were rare treasures up for bid, he believed he had enough resources to acquire them.
“Mason, Haley, show Leo and his friends to their quarters,” Malik instructed Mason and Haley.
“Yes, Father,” Mason and Haley replied in unison.
“Leo, Seraphina, Serpent, please follow me,” Haley smiled at them.
Leo and his companions nodded and followed Mason and Haley out of the hall.
“That young man is quite remarkable-so young yet possessing such impressive cultivation,” Jasper remarked as they watched Leo leave.
Malik nodded. “The Nine Thieves are becoming increasingly audacious to dare attack Mason and Haley!”
Though cultivators have long lifespans, nature remains fair; their ability to reproduce is greatly limited. Thus, having offspring is challenging for cultivators.
If Mason and Haley had died, it would have been a devastating blow for Malik as their father.
